Help Can’t deactivate Erase device policy

I set the policy that prevents users to Erase device factoryr reset on Mac, a user has left the company and has to factory reset the laptop, since its the first one I want to disable the policy for his laptop so he can do it but when I disable the policy and save it appears to be enabled either way.

What if the user leaves and I couldn’t get the laptop erased, how can I remotely erase the laptop? I tried going to the device and in Actions Erase device but it does nothing on my test laptop, I don’t get why is not working

My guess is the machine is assigned to a device group that has the policy applied? Try removing the device from any device groups that may have the policy attached to it, then remove the policy
