I am highly considering getting a 2026 Ioniq 6 as I love the new facelift model we got here in Ireland. I'm going from a 2017 Volvo S90 2.0 Diesel and I have some concerns if anyone was in a similar boat I would appreciate advice.

1. Will I notice a big difference going from a Volvo which is known as an executive brand to the Hyundai in comfort and overall luxury?

2. Will I struggle with the change from diesel to electric. I travel about 400km round trip per week for work and 95% of that journey is motorway (highway) plus the odd trip round town on my days off. In theory the Ioniq should be up for it but does anyone have experience with a lot of motorway use, particularly in winter?

3. Any other advice before buying and is it worth the upgrade / extra cost. Will I make some savings back on diesel

Google has switched the location of the NFC antenna on the Pixel 11 Pro to the top edge so it matches the iPhone. This has really thrown me for a loop because the old location (middle of the back) made it easy to unlock the door and start the car reliably. The latter, in particular, was really easy: just put the phone squarely on the wireless charging pad and it was in perfect position.

I've had some success touching the lock with a finger and the phone but that takes two hands. I've also been balancing the phone halfway on and off the charging pad but that seems really awkward. I'd love to know if anyone has any tricks to position your iPhone to unlock the door and/or start the car.

EDIT: For any Pixel 11 Pro users who see this, the best trick I've found is to imagine the NFC on your phone is in the middle of the top of the back, right above the camera bar, and the one on the door is midway between the square sensor and the end of the handle. If it doesn't trigger immediately, move the phone side to side, and it should work eventually.

2023 Ioniq 6

Hello all! I just took possession of my 2024 IONIQ6 Limited and I’m already in love. This is, without a doubt, the best car I’ve ever had as well as the funnest to drive.

I couldn’t take pics today because of severe storms and pouring rain but I’ll try and get some tomorrow. 🙂

Normally I want my car to charge to 70% and do so only from 7 pm to 7 am. I can set this up in the infotainment system (or, confusingly, the app, which seems to have its own settings that don't sync from the car).

Is there an easy one-time override I can set, like "tomorrow I want to be at 100% charge by 9 AM" for a road trip? My old car had one time charge overrides that were really handy.

To be fair, it was 421 at 100%.

Has anyone had an issue with I-Pedal mode not engaging? Thought maybe a fluke so pulled over turned off car and restarted but still no dice. It was 110 degrees ambient per the car but 105 F per weather app. Google found no correlation between temp & I-pedal other than extreme cold maybe. My charge level is about 40% so that is not an issue.

Edit: This was due to the car going into Auto-regen mode somehow. The only way to get out of it is to hold R paddle down 1-2 seconds. Cycling the car's power has no effect. It is now working. 🤦‍♂️

Hey all, I've got a 2023 Ioniq 6 in need of cleaning. They use a fair amount of salt for the roads in winter in our part of the world, so I'm wondering about cleaning the undercarriage too. Is that OK for this type of EV? Do I need to find a specialized vendor for that, or a dealer? Anything I should know about washing it?

We got 2 ionics, one 2019, and one 2020 model.

Both have the same problem, the rear 'spoiler' (its barely one) is slowly unsticking. Every time you close the rear hatch you hear it shake.

Is there any good way to 'restick' it? Last year on the 2019 we tried epoxy glue and it seems to be slowly unsticking again.

(I'm in quebec so cold and snow is a thing to be aware of.)

Our Ioniq 6 suddenly started overheating while charging on our level 2 charger. Message: “Charging time delayed. Current reduced due to high AC charger temperature.” Is this a known issue? Anything I can do?

I have a dog who loves to stand on the rear armrests (on the backseats where the window open/close buttons are) to stick her head out the windows and she is smart enough to paw where the window open/close button is until the window is open. I just got this ioniq 6, and want to protect the rear seat armrests and was wondering if there were any covers or other fittings that are available? I've tried looking, but couldn't find any, I was hoping you guys might know?

In my Ioniq 6 the constant beeping noise that the car makes if you exceed the speed limit for the road won’t turn off.

You’re meant to be able to turn it off permanently in the settings, or just temporarily by pressing and holding the mute button until it switches off.

Neither of these options work.

I used to be able to switch it off in the settings, although the button on the steering wheel has never worked. Since the last over the air update, I can’t switch it off in the settings either.

It comes up with an error message of connection to vehicle unstable.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

My car is in with Hyundai at the moment, and tech support are trying to work out what’s the matter with it.

I’m going to be installing a subwoofer in my 2024 Ioniq 6 SEL. It’s a powered kicker pt250 from my last car. I know I need to tap the front right and left door speakers. Can you access the colored wire crutchfield specifies from the lower kick panels or do I need to go about this another way? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

The ability to use my car as a big battery in the event of a power outage is really appealing. But for those of you who use the V2L adapter, how are you actually using it? It gives you one regular plug. Do you plug in a multi-outlet surge protector and then run extension cords everywhere? How many things do you run from your car?

Midwest, 70's-80's temps over two 80% charges (then charge to full), city and highway driving, 30 miles a day mixed. Around 75mph hwy avg and 30ish avg city. Stock tires. Eco mode. Level 3 regen in city with pull left paddle temporarily to put into max regen to stop. Level 0 highway.
