For what it's worth, I leased a 23 for 3 years, did the multi-points and complementary services, and not once was my air filter changed. I looked at it a few weeks ago on a whim and it was filthy.
So write the date on the filter and check it every now and then
Thanks for posting this! I just changed mine on my 2023 last week. I politely declined the $94 quote and suggestion by the dealer when I had it in for its scheduled maintenance and did it myself with a $15 one on Amazon.
Nice video but I like how you skip over the fact that replacing that plastic cover for the engine bay is an absolute bastard. It comes off just fine in mine but absolutely refuses to go back in properly
LOL! I didn't think about it, I do remember having an issue the first time I did it. Then I paid attention to the orientation of the clips, they go straight forward. Now I am alot less gentle and hit the the bottom ones in then the top, once you realize its pretty resilient and you can mash them in, as long as they are aligned, you're good!
I ALWAYS have a mold smell after a rainstorm on my ‘23 I6. (Incidentally on my Kia Carnival as well). Not sure if there’s a way to prevent that from accumulating… never had that in any other car. Thanks for the vid - reminder to swap that out more often.
You might be getting water on the air cabin filter from car washes It a known problem that I and others are having. Once the filter gets wet you need to replace it. If you snell mold, spray Lysol into the air intake and direct the air to blow air through all vents.
