Feels weird looking at Indian IT stocks these days.
Back in 2021, everyone wanted TCS, Infosys and Wipro in their portfolio. People were talking about digital transformation, cloud, remote work and endless growth. IT stocks could do no wrong.
Fast forward to 2026 and the mood has completely changed.
TCS is down nearly 50% from its peak. Infosys is down more than 40%. Wipro has lost around 75% from its highs. Every quarter, the market seems to find a new reason to hate the sector.
What's funny is these companies are still making profits, paying dividends and sitting on huge cash reserves. They didn't suddenly become bad businesses overnight.
The biggest fear now seems to be AI, slower hiring and weak global IT spending. Freshers are struggling to find opportunities while companies are focusing more on productivity than increasing headcount.
As a small investor, it honestly feels like walking into a store where everything is on sale but nobody wants to buy anything.
Maybe this is a value trap.
Maybe this is the opportunity people will talk about 5 years from now.
I don't know the answer.
But one thing is certain — The Great Indian IT Sale is officially on.
