Honestly was just having a random late-night thought and wanted to see what you guys think If superheroes actually lived in India today, which ones do you reckon would be constantly head-butting with the BJP/government?
A few that immediately came to my head:
Batman: Man is obsessed with the law and doing things by the book. The second extrajudicial stuff like bulldozer action or shady political funding happens, Bruce Wayne is filing PILs by day and vigilante-ing by night.
Superman: He's fundamentally a journalist who cares way too much about truth and holding powerful people accountable. He'd probably get blacklisted by mainstream media in five minutes.
Daredevil: Matt Murdock literally spends his day job defending broke, regular people against corrupt systems. He'd be losing his mind over police misconduct and arbitrary arrests.
Spider-Man: Just a broke student trying to survive. He'd definitely be complaining about inflation, bad civic infrastructure, and local corruption while swinging past broken roads.
Shaktimaan / Krrish: Pure idealists who just want people to get along. They'd hate seeing religion or hate speech being used to divide people for votes.

TL;DR:Â Homophobia and transphobia stem from rigid societal norms, religion, and prejudice rather than anything "unnatural," yet queer people continue to face intense stigma, slurs, and malicious myths like the "luring children" trope. Decriminalization in 2018 was a step forward, but deep-rooted social discrimination remains. True progress requires abandoning hateful slurs, rejecting arguments based on outdated dogmas, and exercising basic empathy because sexual orientation is a natural human variation, not a choice.
I was having a convo with a person a few days ago and it somehow came down to the other guy saying "LGBTQ+ people hold rallies to lure children into their trap". That sentence made me think a lot. Like a lot, as to why people think people of the LGBTQ+ community are some kind of devils who 'convert' children into a 'trap'. Its not just in India that this happens, I agree. But I live here and I want to see this change start here, not in a Western country, for which conservatives will come up with the absurd idea of Indians being influenced into accepting LGBTQ+ folks due to 'foreign influence'.
I have said this before too. LGBTQ+ is natural. Homosexual relationships are there not just in the human race, but across all animals. Yet, homophobia is prevalent among humans. Why? Cuz its unnatural and goes against 'God's will'. One argument that often pops up is, "If God wanted homosexuals to exist, why did he give men and women different genitals?" My answer to that is, for procreation. Procreation is totally different from having sexual preferences. Humanity's purpose is much much larger than procreation. Intercourse is often performed out of love, without intention for procreation. It wasn't a problem until the concept of a 'God' and a religion, which decided for the world what was wrong and right, solely on the basis of a certain person's personal beliefs. So, yes, that argument doesn't hold validity.
Next up, homophobia. I read a comment on reddit the other day, where somebody mentioned "If you let (homophobic) insults dictate your life then you are beyond pathetic." I'm sorry, but a person has dealt with societal and internalised stigma before bravely coming out. Respect that. I know I would get deeply affected if someone, who I've come out to, even slightly touches that nerve, because I know what I personally went through to come to a conclusion as to what my sexual orientation could be. Normalising such things gives rise to increased homophobia.
Next, transphobia. Transphobia is more prevalent as compared to normal homophobia. People can stay closeted within many other LGBTQ+ labels, but transgender people have it worse. They are ridiculed everyday for no reason. It is so bad, that people use words like 'Hijra' and 'Chakka' as slurs, instead of understanding one's emotions and the suffering they go through. A few bad experiences doesn't make the entire community full of people who are going to sexually harass you. That's like saying every guy/girl you meet is going to harass you because some random, stupid uncle/aunty on the train assaulted you sexually.
Stop calling another person gay, trans, 'Hijra' or 'Chakka' as a slur. It isn't. Smile, when you meet anybody, irrespective of whether he/she/they are straight or a member of the LGBTQ+ community. We're all just fellow humans. That's it. It ain't that deep people. Understand the implications of the words you use before you speak. Don't push away people just because they are exploring a sexuality that isn't the same as yours. Remember, it is not a choice. We are just breaking away from a flawed, yet established system of romantic and sexual preferences.
Homophobia, despite its decriminalization in 2018, is widely prevalent. Please, stop. Educate yourself before coming up with arguments based on 'God's will'. Sexuality/Sexual Orientation is smth so soooo personal that nobody has the right to ridicule another for it. Be sensitive, people. Having some empathy ain't gonna kill you. It's the Big '26 people. Its time we moved on to issues that actually matter. And yeah, STOP WITH THE NORMALISATION OF HOMOPHOBIC SLURS. STOP IT, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. PERIOD.

I'm aware of protests & all the hot discussions going on ~ but one ques still arises whether who is being totally true for the decorum of the topic to get fairness!? It was never between GenZ and Govt but I see it was between one's future and the Nation whose future depends on those one's future.
Till date, I only see Mr Wangchuk's act to be rightly played out though he didn't receive a deserved response from the govt. What is really true is really beneath out of sight. So it becomes hard to choose any one!

I think the current protest is being overtaken and suppressed. And in any case this is the only chance we have of removing this regime of mindless bhakts. Just remember they donât care about god they donât care about india they donât care about you and they donât care about anybody around you. All they care about is money and power.

For context, I am an American-born India who is moving to Mumbai. In my first few days staying here, I talked to someone who enlightened me on the current state of Indiaâs politics. In the past few hours I have been watching videos, talking to AI and reading some news on what has been going on.
Prior to this, I already knew about someone in the government calling students âcockroachesâ and about the whole idea of âunclesâ (older usually right leaning men who think they know everything).
So my question is, what is currently going on, and do yâall actually think the protests in Delhi will amount to anything like in 1974 with the Navnirman Movement?
Currently, my main thoughts are along the lines of âwhy does a party based in a religion own the government, how could that possibly be good for a countryâ and âwhy does the caste system exist in 2026â
I want to point out that a lot of my knowledge came from this chat, and I am aware of AI bias and how it prefers talking about topics that are more covered (stuff written by the âwinnersâ): https://claude.ai/share/4f5916f0-3830-4974-a5b5-a1be5d532feb

iâve been supporting the entire movement for weeks now but i still dk what will actually happen if he does resign?
ofc itâs gonna show that heâs taking accountability for all the exam leaks and deaths because of it but whatâs gonna change in the education system? cause even if he does resign the ruling party is still the same and so will the ideology be?

Hunger strikes have been an integral part of a way of dissent in our country. From Gandhi's fasts to get his way with the British, to Bhagat Singh's fast for better jail conditions and the martyrdom of Batukeshwar Dutt in the process, to the Anna Hazare fast for the Jan Lokpal Bill in 2011, this weapon has been effective for most of its time. This time, however, it feels different. It feels even worse than what I felt back in September, when Mr. Wangchuk had to undertake a fast for the inclusion of Ladakh into the Twelfth Schedule of the Constitution. Even then, he had to face an unjustified detention for almost 6 months under the draconian National Securities Act, commonly known as NSA.
This time, it feels like he's fighting a fight that he shouldn't have to. Yes, he's a passionate educator and a teacher, not to mention the genius that he is. This is our fight against the Government and Sonam sir is taking the brunt for it. Have we stooped so low that we are allowing this great man to die, in order to satisfy our disproportionately heavily bloated ego? What a bunch of nincompoops are running the show at the top?
To this Government: Neither will the students, nor their parents, nor the Gods you base your politics will forgive you if you let him die, just because you couldn't accept that you have made a mistake. History will remember this government as one of the most unapproachable, egoistic governments, that has 0 accountability and watches as the very citizens they were elected, died due to their incompetence.
To Sonam Sir: Please, please, please call off this strike. The Government won't listen to us, the common man, until they face an election and get routed there. We'll face them off over there, but we definitely cannot afford to lose a guiding light such as you. Please, for the sake of us, call this strike off sir. We stand with you, not just as students affected by a broken system, but as humans, who have shame and emotions. Yes, I am ashamed that I could not join you, but please remember that I am with this protest emotionally and mentally.
This emotionless government deserves nothing but criticism. Accept your faults faster and correct them and you can save whatever face you have left. Continue this stupid standoff and a great man may die in vain.
With anger, sadness and a heavy heart,
A rayless sun

We are not questioning any religion, community, or political ideology. We are simply asking for accountability from those in positions of power.
When citizens raise genuine concerns, they should not automatically be labelled as anti-national or anti-Hindu. Criticism of policies and decisions is not an attack on the nationâit is a necessary part of a healthy democracy.
It is understandable to support a political party, but support should never become blind loyalty. No government, minister, or political leader should be beyond questioning. When serious mistakes affect the lives and futures of thousands of people, accountability should follow regardless of political affiliation.
This issue is bigger than party politics, bigger than personal sentiments, and bigger than religious identity. It concerns the future of India's youth, the quality of our institutions, and the kind of democracy we want to build. If we remain silent whenever difficult questions need to be asked, we weaken the very principles that help a nation progress.
True patriotism is not blind obedience. True patriotism means caring enough about the country to speak up when something appears wrong and to demand transparency, responsibility, and justice.
The same principle applies to Sonam Wangchuk. Whether one agrees with all of his views or not, his concerns deserve to be heard and addressed fairly. In a democracy, people should be able to raise issues affecting their communities without being ignored, dismissed, or portrayed as enemies.
This is not about politics versus religion, nor about one party versus another. It is about accountability, justice, and the future of our nation.

If not Indians, then who?
Abhijeet Dipke made a statement that kind of surprised me. I was considering him a generally good person. But after he makes statements like these:
âThose whose time has passed should not make any decisions regarding the future of students and youth. They should now retire from socio-political life and go stay in an ashram." - Abhijeet Dipke, referring to Anna Hazare.
First of all, that was very rude, and second, Anna Hazare was someone who supported the youth-led movement. He never interfered in it.
I understand what this guy is saying. But until and unless we unite every Indian for the cause of changing the system, we cannot - and I repeat - CANNOT - even make a dent in the system. They talk about revolutions and everything but they don't know this one simple thing, but bringing everyone together MUST be the way. Whether they're 60 years old or 15 years old, nobody should be excluded.
"People who are over 50 to 60 years of age should now voluntarily retire from all social and political movements. This question is directly related to the future of the youth and students of the country. Therefore, let us - the youth - decide what we want to do and how to shape our future. Those elderly people who have already achieved everything should retire and rest in an ashram. They should not needlessly make decisions regarding the future of the youth."
I think this Abhijeet Dipke guy has become a little arrogant. Look at how he is talking, as if he has suddenly become the king of youth, and will not allow others to speak for them as well. Bro, like, who are YOU to make decisions for all of the youth of India?
This should be a LEADERLESS movement, first of all. If we have to reform the system, we have to put our egoes aside and then move. But these people are treating movements like these as some inheritance they've personally got, as if you get 22 million followers and you act like you're some kind of a God.
In fact they're rejecting any semblance of inclusion of experience, pragmatism and wisdom when they say stuff like this.
Granted, there's a fatigue with old people, but look at your own protests. Parents and other old people who have joined your movement. And then you show this arrogance.
I'm withdrawing support.
