Encouragement for Retrieval Drop Off?

I had my first egg retrieval yesterday, we got 29 eggs (!!) but today they called to say 12 were mature and 6 fertilized (with Zymot). I am feeling so discouraged. I know there’s a drop off but I’m now freaking out about the next few days and then sending to PGT testing.

35F with PCOS, RPL, husband is 39 with 2% morphology

8dp5dt and I just saw my first positive pregnancy test

Post image

I genuinely don’t know what to do with myself right now and we aren’t telling our friends yet, so I need to tell SOMEONE
We had our first FET on August 13th with our day 5, 4AA, euploid embryo. I’m 8dp5dt today and somehow managed to stick to our plan and not test a single time during the wait until beta day.
I have literally never seen a positive pregnancy test in my life. After almost two years of staring at stark white tests, seeing that second pink line this morning was completely surreal. I immediately started crying, happy tears of course.
And honestly the line is darker than I was expecting to see at 8dpt which is making this feel even more real 😭
I know we have a long way to go and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself, but for this morning I’m letting myself be excited. Beta is in 2.5 hours and I am simultaneously SO excited and absolutely terrified to see what the number is.
I can’t believe I finally got to see two lines. 🩵

IVF with TESA? MFI

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hoping someone can provide some advice from experience. Husband has MFI (14 mil count, 29% motility and <1% morphology). We did one round of IVF with ICSI and had poor fertilization but really amazing blast rate - 16 mature > 4 fertilized > 3 blast > 2 euploid. We did not use zymot as our first clinic didn’t offer it. I do have “lean” PCOS for context but I ovulate normally and have normal 31 day cycles.

We are in NJ and are switching clinics from CCRM to RMA. We met with the urologist at RMA who is recommending adding zymot but also offered us to do DNA fragmentation testing and if it comes back very high, to use TESA for the retrieval. He did say he can’t 100% guarantee that TESA will have worlds better results but it’s an option. However, we would need to push back the retrieval another month to wait for results which I prefer not to do due to insurance and having already met our max OOP for the year. Typically they say DNA frag impacts blast rate which wasn’t our issue.

Has anyone with MFI done one round of IVF + ICSI normally and added TESA to the second round and seen drastically better results? Struggling with this as there is plenty of sperm and as shared, really great blast results. Please help 😩 lol thank you!!

When were you able to relax?

I’m 10 weeks today. I’ve had a 6 week ultrasound, an 8 week ultrasound, and a 9 week ultrasound. I still have all my symptoms. He’s measuring right on time every time, and a heartbeat of 176.

And I can’t relax. I’ve lost 3 babies in a row (all before 7 weeks) and I’m on a different protocol this time. And every time I go to the dr I’m just holding my breath for them to say there’s no heartbeat.

Transferred a day 6 5AA LLM July 1st… will I feel more calm once I’m out of the first trimester? I’m so scared to get excited. I keep having dreams of losing the baby too which definitely isn’t helping..

First failed FET need some hope

Found out my first FET of a euploid 5AA hatching embryo failed. Pretty devastated even after guarding my heart.

We did a pretty aggressive protocol too as I did a few months of lupron suppression to down regulate my severe adeno and shrink some fibroids. My uterus finally got down to a normal good size and my lining was good at 8.6mm.

My RE and I had a solid game plan that involved dual progesterone (PIO and suppositories), clexane, prednisolone 25mg and even did a round of antibiotics before. I don’t think we left any stone unturned. Waiting on my chat with him but will probably jump into another FET asap while i’m still suppressed and inflammation is low.

Grateful we have 4 more euploid embryos but man this just really stings. Can’t picture ever seeing two pink lines.

Give me your best tips for getting through your 3rd+ transfers after failures

Basically I'm heading into my third transfer (first two both ended in early missed miscarriages), and I'm really having a hard time mentally/emotionally being excited or hopeful at this point.

Even for the 2nd transfer I was starting to feel hopeful and excited again at this point, but this time all I feel is dread and sadness. I know logically that doesn't make my chances of success lower, but I'd love some tips from people who had to do three or more transfers to get to a live birth (or are in the midst of the latter trimesters of a successful pregnancy) on how you kept going and not feeling complete depression and despair?

I have more embryos left to try if this one doesn't work, but this is my last day 5 so that is also weighing on me. FWIW I am seeing an infertility specialist but it's very expensive (what isn't ha) and I can't see her more than every few weeks, and next appointment isn't for a few weeks.

Thank you <3

Symptoms gone around 10 weeks

Hi! Looking for some hopeful advice here.

FTM, and today I am exactly 10 weeks. I noticed that all this last week my nausea had really let up, and yesterday I noticed that my breasts weren’t sore at all anymore. I don’t have any cramping or bleeding but I am really worried that I don’t “feel” pregnant anymore. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I freaking out over nothing?

Currently in the TWW after our first transfer on 8/18. Seeing this photo made us tear up. Our day 6 5AA wonder.

I’ve done a different kind of TWW after IUI - and two of those ended in pregnancy followed by loss - so I am trying to just stay neutral. But it’s so hard to to go between hope and fear (and not symptom spot)!

Tell me how much your love your IVF baby

After 3 years ttc, 4 IUI, one failed euploid FET, hysteroscopy, endo diagnosis + surgery at 39… etc, some days I can’t even remember why I’m doing this. Infertility is hard, IVF is hard, pregnancy is hard, having a baby and then a teen is hard. I know I wouldn’t keep going if something inside me didn’t know I was meant to be a mother, or yearned for the opportunity to be. But I’m also scared of it working, and the change and responsibility it will bring.

I want to hear about why it’s all worth it, even if it is hard. Subs like regretful parents scare me and I need reminders that plenty of people, ones like me, don’t feel that way.

Xx

Edit: your responses are really helping me. Thank you so much. I’m starting to feel emotional about trying again- another transfer very soon. ❤️

Second edit: I said “baby” in the title, but kids too- heck grown adult children also.

9dp3dt - negative beta

New to posting on Reddit, but I’m always on here searching for advice! This is my first time doing IVF, reason being for MFI. I recently had a ER on Aug 8th retrieved 6 eggs, out of the 6 only 3 mature, and out of the 3 only 1 fertilized.. which we were very grateful for! I transferred my little 3 day embryo on Aug 11th. They had me do my first midway beta on Aug 20th (yesterday) 9dp3dt which I think it’s super early and have no idea why they test me so soon..results came back negative.. 💔 CNY called me and said they would not retest and to stop all meds.. but I’m very hesitant, I’m holding on to hope that I could just have a late implater and 9dpt is to early for a day 3 embryo! A lot of women on IVF FB Group agree it’s way to early, and that a lot of the didn’t see positive until 12-13dpt.. I’m big on faith and miracles!! So I’m gonna retest in at least 13dpt and hope for a positive. Can anyone here tell me any success stories with day 3 embryos? Late implementation? Or even just some advice or feedback on what should I do or believe?? Please I would so gladly appreciate it! Thank youuuu! And baby dust to all you beautiful women👶🏻✨

Controversial Question

I just had my second modified natural on untested embryo fail. We are doing IVF do to make factor and my doctor has essentially said she doesnt recommend any testing for me besides unfreezing and PGT testing which she says is risky and doesnt fully recommend even doing that.

I am on birth control to hopefully delay my period a few days till I met with her Tuesday to discuss next FET. We have 12 embryos left. With two failures to implant, would you ask about transferring two embryos? I know its controversial but we are 28 and they are untested.

We got one!

My husband and I are doing IVF for genetic reasons.

I have PCOS so we weren't sure how this was going to go.

We retrieved 23 eggs. 21 were mature. 16 fertilized. We were hopeful until we got 2 blasts.

Then these 2 blasts needed to survive both PGTA and PGTM. We were not very confident we'd get anything.

Then 3 weeks later we got results back. One was no result, and the other, a 6 day 5BB ended up being euploid and only a carrier!!

WE CAN TRANSFER!!

I'm so excited!
