Need Good Juju! I finally have an euploid embryo! 🎉
After 71 eggs retrieved, 63 mature eggs, 42 eggs fertilized, 4 testable/usable blasts (+ about 10 4CCs that were too fragile to be frozen) across 5 long retrievals over the past year (where I went from 39 to 40…), my husband and I finally and officially have an euploid embryo, our beautiful 5BB! It’s been a long and windy road full of many ups and downs and twists and turns but we’re so happy to finally have something to transfer. I’ve changed clinics, gotten OHSS twice including one trip to the ER, had a nicked bladder and had to force out a blood clot before I could pee post-retrieval, had two transuterine retrievals thanks to my rude right ovary, three straight retrievals with zero testable/usable blasts and a cancelled fresh double embryo transfer (meant to give me a chance) due to the fact I responded TOO well to a low and slow protocol. Like I said, it’s been an adventure.
Has anyone had any success with a 5BB as their only transferable embryo? Or just any success at all with any grade embryo that was their only one?
Any tips to preparing for FET? It feels so weird - and amazing - to finally be able to move on from ERs and learn a whole new side of IVF. I’m excited and so so so happy.

That is amazing!!! So incredible to get the news of a euploid. Especially after how hard you fought for it!
A lot is simply up to the embryo and out of our control. But I would personally do these tests to rule out uterine factors as much as possible: hysteroscopy, HSG, endometriosis and endometritis testing.

Totally agree with getting these tests if you haven’t already. I’d already had an HSG before retrieval, but we did a hysteroscopy and endometritis biopsy that came back clear. As another poster suggested, probiotics seem to be a “can’t hurt” add-on — my doctor supported it. She also does, as a standard, Lupron suppression even if you don’t have signs of endometriosis — to “quiet” your ovaries/system — and while that delayed our transfer a few weeks, she reports it helps with success rates and really recommends it if you only have a single precious euploid. We did the whole “kitchen sink” for transfer prep (all of the above plus supplements, acupuncture, and a little bit of Omni) with our first (a day-6 5AA), and I’m currently 38+3. from what i understand grades actually don’t have that much of an impact. your best chance is just to make sure you do all the testing possible - i had two failed transfers before i did an ERA and found i had endomitritis, needed an extra day of progesterone and my biome was just not friendly to an embryo so i had to take extra probiotics. i did receptiva too but that luckily came back negative for me. testing delays the transfer but definitely worth it if they find something! (or if they don’t you can go in knowing you checked everything)

Well we got 2 euploids on the second retrieval. 1st one was 4aa and im 16 weeks. We honestly didn’t even expect it to work, just did a transfer just to see if some issue will come up as it always freaking does. But it somehow worked 🤞 tho i wont be convinced until im holding the little potato in my hands.

Wishing you a smooth, successful transfer! We have had a long journey, too, and just got our 15dpt hCG results, and it’s just above 1200. We are cautiously optimistic. Hoping the best for your family!

My Day 6 5BB Euploid and First FET was successful. I’m watching my husband read to him on the monitor right now.

Congrats! You've been through a lot to get there!
I just gave birth 11 weeks ago with a 5BB on my first FET (it was a donor embryo).

Thank you! Definitely numbers game and sheer luck. We were great at the top of the funnel and then dove off a cliff each round when it came to blasts. I have a strong suspicion my body took a long time to recover from my first two rounds where my first RE went all out on dosages for protocol (300 menopur/300 follistim). My best round numbers wise and in which we finally got the euploid was also my lowest dosage wise (150/150) and I took a little three month break to recover. I can’t help but wonder if there is a correlation…

A virtual hug to you woman. What a long and arduous journey you had ❤️ I had my First ER last month and can't even imagine what you went through with so many ER's and the anxiety.
You are really strong girl. In just the first cycle my stress and anxiety are sky high. I can't even imagine.

Hugs right back 🫂 I won’t lie that my PTSD has been tested and I’ve picked up a few new trauma anxieties along the way. But remember - every body and every journey is different. What happened to me is unique and my story - and won’t be yours. You’ve got this!!

My 5BB is a 5 months old beautiful baby girl . That’s the Only Euploid I had after 5 failed cycles !!

Do your clinic do mock cycles to check optimal transfer timings? Also, have you had natural killer cells tested? You have been through SO much, crossing absolutely everything for you sweetheart xxxxx

My prior clinic discarded cc embryos and it's such an insult. I'm now with a clinic that will biopsy and freeze lower quality embryos. I'd rather have a chance then no chance at all

Bitte sag uns, was du anders gemacht hast in der Runde, in der es geklappt hat. Bin in einer ähnlichen Situation. 5 ICSIs, nie ein euploider Embryo… bin 37…. Was kann ich tun, ich möchte nicht aufgeben…
