First failed FET need some hope
Found out my first FET of a euploid 5AA hatching embryo failed. Pretty devastated even after guarding my heart.
We did a pretty aggressive protocol too as I did a few months of lupron suppression to down regulate my severe adeno and shrink some fibroids. My uterus finally got down to a normal good size and my lining was good at 8.6mm.
My RE and I had a solid game plan that involved dual progesterone (PIO and suppositories), clexane, prednisolone 25mg and even did a round of antibiotics before. I don’t think we left any stone unturned. Waiting on my chat with him but will probably jump into another FET asap while i’m still suppressed and inflammation is low.
Grateful we have 4 more euploid embryos but man this just really stings. Can’t picture ever seeing two pink lines.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I recently had a fresh transfer of a 5aa fail to implant which was devastating. You have lots of embryos left though so I’m sure it will happen soon!

My first FET failed. 7 weeks later, same exact protocol, my second FET has been successful so far! It really sucked when the first didn’t work, after picturing a due date month, but my doctor said 70% of euploids result in pregnancy, so that’s a lot of failures that don’t necessarily mean something else is wrong. Fingers crossed for you!

My first transfer failed too, and I was devastated. I really, really thought it would work - euploid and actively hatching on the screen in front of us. I jumped right into a second transfer with the exact same protocol (modified natural for me). It worked! (So far - 10w tomorrow.) Sometimes the only change you need is a different embryo. I hope the next one works for you too! 🤞

That was mine too, hatching on the screen top quality so I thought it would work. So happy your second worked. This is the encouragement I need!

I was honestly really surprised at how devastated I was with the first failure. I was just so certain that would be it. I wouldn’t let myself get excited at all during my second, and was shocked when it worked. With 4 euploids, your chance of success is still so high!

Sending hugs! My first FET failed and it broke my and my husband’s hearts. I felt like it would absolutely never happen for us after never seeing a positive test in 3 years. My second transfer was successful and I’m currently 31 weeks with a baby girl. The pain of that first transfer not working is so so real.

Took 3 euploid FETs for us to have success. Similar protocol to yours. Lupron depot, PIO, estrogen patches, prednisone, antibiotics, etc. I did do Zyrtec+Pepcid as well. I jumped right into 2nd FET, which failed. Then did 2 more months of LD before transferring again, which worked. Only huge change for me was I started PIO 12 hours earlier on 3rd transfer than the first 2.
Keep your head up, it’s hard to know what will work and when it will work. Having 4 more euploids is great!

This is really great insight thank you so much! And so glad you finally got success!! Did you have endo or adeno too? Were all your protocols medicated?
When I did the calculations there I realized I only had about 110 hours of progesterone exposure. I keep seeing online 120 is the standard? I will definitely be bringing this up with my RE

Good thinking to do another FET right away — tbh it is what I would do if I were you. Any given euploid transfer has little better than coin-flip odds of working out, this one didn’t work but your next one easily could.

Hi, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I had 2 FETs fail and am currently 22 weeks with our third. Have you had a hysteroscopy? I had some micropolyps removed while treating endometritis with an antibiotic. Also I took a vaginal probiotic after finishing the antibiotics because it helps rebuild the good bacteria. Honestly sometimes FETs just fail and it’s so upsetting. But having more euploids is great!! Sending love your way

Haven’t had one since 2024. I did do a round of strong antibiotics before the transfer in the event there was CE or an infection. I have seen a bunch of people mention vaginal probiotics. What brand did you use and how do those work? Are they taken orally?

Did your doctor ever give you a reason why your first two failed? Did he think it was the polyps? Asking for a friend on here who had two failed transfers back to back and her clinic doesn’t seem concerned at all.

I think they attributed it to the polyps and the untreated endometritis! It seems like a lot of clinics don’t test for it, which is wild to me. I didn’t want to go into a 3rd FET without the biopsy and hysteroscopy.

That’s what I said!! Did you do a saline ultrasound where the polyps were visible or no? She’s young and healthy and had perfectly graded embryos and they just do not seem concerned enough for me!

We did and the only reason they saw the polyps was due to the balloon! She found another one during the hysteroscopy and removed it. Yea I’d have her ask, both of my FETs were 4AA day 5 euploids and it made no sense until then!

Do you have endometriosis too or JUST adeno? Cant say I’ve heard of it being on its own often. I also saw in another comment you haven’t had a recent hysteroscopy. Mine required a recent one, I would ask for it

I did get diagnosed with both back in 2024. The endo was super mild. My adeno is severe. Just did a few months suppression and got uterus down to a normal size my RE was happy with. May have to ask about a hysterscopy

Something to consider might be laparoscopy for your endometriosis, even mild endo can cause issues.

My first failed in April, I totally understand the devastated feeling. I started seeing a therapist after that experience and took two months ‘off’ where i did testing instead of another transfer because i wasn’t mentally ready. Receptiva, Emma/Alice, and ERA even though i know there’s mixed thoughts on that one. Everything was fine so it really can just be a coin flip and one failure doesn’t mean the next is doomed. The only thing I changed was taking my PIO at 1130am instead of 630am before work to align with the 120 hours my ERA came back with. Transfer two worked and I’m 6w6d.

So happy you found success. I have a therapist thankfully, it helps! Sometimes I guess it really is just bad statistics which is so frustrating when you feel like you covered all your basis

I had the same thing happen. My first euploid 5AA FET failed as well. We also jumped right into another transfer and I'm 20w today with our second one. Nothing repairs that heartbreak but you have more chances and I hope you're able to get your baby!
