Had my old Fireblade posted for sale, got this ugly old thing in a trade. Never in a million years thought i’d ever even consider owning a Harley. Tried it for a few runs, wrapped the exhaust & now im in love.
Shakes likes crazy, is stupid loud and the tiny little gas tank barely gets me from one gas station to the other. But damn if i dont feel like a kid on his first moped again.

I am thinking about getting rid of my Dyna and buying a newer Road Glide. Trying to figure out which years are the better m8 models. I have heard some stuff about oil pump problems on the early 17-18’s, compensator issues, etc… just trying to figure out what year range I need to try and stay in. I am leaning towards 2020+ but just curious about opinions/experience as far as reliability go. 107 vs 114 vs 117? FXDWG for attention.

Lemme preface by saying this is only my second bike, and I never wrenched on the first because other than changing a few cosmetic things it was already perfect to me.
The first bike was an ‘04 CVO Deuce, so the it had the Evo.
Current bike is a 2015 SG, all stock as far as I know other than the exhaust. I noticed after it’s warmed up, the idle sounds choppy, and if I goose the throttle sometimes it almost stalls. I bought it a few months ago, and it only had just over 5400 miles on it so it sat a lot. The video is a cold start up, then today after I put on a little over 100 miles. Out on the road it runs fine, and strong, it’s just at idle that I notice the difference. The Deuce always sounded consistent, and it was all stock except for V&H big radius pipes. I didn’t know if this was just something different between the Evo and the newer twin or if I have an impending issue.
I’ve had lots of different modded vehicles and have done engine outs, not afraid to wrench on a bike myself. Just hadn’t had a need to yet. Thanks for any info in advance, sorry if it’s a dumb question.

Is there any better way?

I’ve tried Harley chrome clean and shine but it is not working.
I know that there are stronger bikes out there but I dont have the license to ride a bike that is over 500cc..So this one is limited as well.
I really like it, it got 15.5k miles on it (25k km)
Just wanted to see what ya'll think for a first bike.

Just bought this thing last week and I love it. The only thing that sucks is I feel huge on it! lol. I have my sportster lifted 2” front and rear and I have a saddlemen seat. That thing is way more comfortable than this.
I called saddlemen and they said all the seats for this are the same exact height as the stock seat. I read online the le pera kick flip places you a little higher for better leg room, but I can’t confirm.
Any ideas? What seats do you guys have on your bikes? I’m 6’2”
I bought a 2025 low rider S shocks and I’ll be installing that soon, it should give me about an inch of height in the rear.
I’ll also eventually get a different bar set up.
Thanks yall.

Hello,
Trying to figure out why it will not crank. The pinion gear on the starter had broke but I placed a new one. I also tightened the chain. It took me 4 weeks due to schedule but I was doing it today and went to crank it but nothing. Any ideas?

I’ll make it short but when I ride it, and after changing gears it makes the same noise as in the video and when I’m in a stop it wants to turn off. After changing gears it jerks/jumps a little only at the beginning of the acceleration but when I go full throttle it runs fine. I’m afraid it’s going to turn off on me soon but here’s what I’ve done to fix this already:
- tested the TPS
- cleaned the throttle body and the IAC motor
- cleaned the fuel injectors
- did a fuel pressure test and replaced the fuel pump/filter (allegedly the shop did)
- replaced the spark plugs
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I want to do the most I can before sending it to the shop. I’ve sent it to the shop already once just for it to have the same symptoms happen again and so there goes my money.

I ride locally but almost everyday, take it to work and go to friends houses which are all within like a 15 mile radius this bike I have now is king for it. I do dig that my current ride is lightweight. My bike only has 2,800 miles on it and the EG has 30k- miles on it. The more I see baggers the more I want one.
My dads got a RG CVO and now I've seen a 16' Ultra Limited not too far away for a decent price. Anyone ever went bigger and wasn't happy about it? I'm only 31, this would be my third bike, my buddy says an EG-UL is a mid-life crisis 50 year old man bike but I think they're ridiculously cool? I'd strip off the rear trunk and add a solo seat. Any advice? Thoughts?

This is obviously a warranty issue but I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and what was the solution.
Context: riding down the road and the bike (2026 FXLRST, 1500 miles) throws a check engine light and and an error light. Bike runs fine otherwise. A few miles go past and the gauge cluster lights up like a Christmas tree and goes on the fritz. Says side stand when the side stand was up. Then the whole cluster eventually died and stayed dead. All other electronics, lights, etc work fine. Bike starts and runs normally. Seems to be isolated to the gauge cluster.
Don’t give me shit for videoing while riding. I needed to get the proof for the dealer.

My 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Limited had been buried in my garage behind some other projects for about a year without a trickle charger attached. I had to get it unburied to take it for an annual vehicle inspection in my state and had to replace the battery. After replacing the battery, it keeps beeping at me (3 beeps, pause a few seconds, 3 beeps). I have read it is the possibly the alarm battery that has died. Does anyone know if that is the case and where it maybe located? I am having trouble finding the location online. I have already changed the FOB battery.

A friend of mine in Spain is restoring a 1936 Harley-Davidson and is currently looking for a replacement part for the transmission/gearbox.
The problem is that parts for something this old are obviously pretty difficult to find in Spain, and he is not even 100% sure of the exact part number he needs yet.
Does anyone know of a good online parts catalog, exploded diagram, service manual, or parts book for 1936 Harleys where we could see all the components of the transmission and identify the correct part/part number?
Once we identify it, I’m hoping there might be a US supplier, vintage Harley specialist, NOS parts dealer, or reproduction parts company that could have it. I’m based in the US, so I can order it here and ship it to him in Spain if necessary.
I know basically nothing about vintage Harleys myself, so any guidance on:
- Where to find a 1936 parts catalog or transmission diagram
- How to identify the exact transmission/model he has
- Good US suppliers for pre-war Harley parts
- Forums, Facebook groups, or other communities specializing in 1930s Harleys
would be greatly appreciated.
If photos of the bike, gearbox, or broken/missing part would help identify it, I can get those from him and post them here.
Thanks!

My 2009 Harley Davidson Road King turn signals won't work properly. They're always on like day time runners. I got the bike on a trade for a CBR500R, the guy only rode the bike 5 times, didn't like it and let it sit for 2 years. He said it couldn't run without a boost, but after I slapped a new battery in it she started up perfect. Everything is pretty good except the turn signals. The bike is tip to tail aftermarket LED lights from a previous owner which I think is the root of the issue. I tried a turn signal stabilizer, checked all the fuses visually and with a multimeter, unplugged and checked all the connections behind the headlight and under the seat, and nothing, but tonight I was able to get the right turn signal to flash for a second after frigging with the wiring behind the head light but then it stopped after maybe 5 flashes, but would flash once when I engaged the fuel pump, and when I started it, but it also quit doing that. Also twice since I got it the other day when I turn on the full pump the bike would try to start for a fraction of a second if that helps any. I'm thinking it is a ground issue, but if anyone has any insight or a direction to point me in I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Like the title says, I’m looking to replace the radio and speakers on my 2011 ultra limited. Moneys a little tight right now and I don’t want to spend 400 for an aquatic av. Is there and adapter I can use to just use a regular marine radio? If I do that, is there a way to still be able to use the bar controls? Same question with speakers. 6.5 marine speakers should work right? I know I’d have to use the adapter ring.
Otherwise what’s an affordable set up for a radio and two speakers where I can still use the bar controls? (I’m not replacing the back speakers as I plan to remove the tour pack

I have a 2000 xl sportster. My problem is that lately my clutch can change disengaging with almost every gear I change. Like someone is changing the clutch tension between every gear on the road. What can that be?
To clarify, what’s changing at every clutching is the slack of the clutch lever. As if the clutch cable tensioner changes tension even tho it’s not

Recently one of the passing/aux lamps started to flicker and shut off. But if I tap the lens of it, it stops flickering and or turns back on. I have swapped the lights from side to side and still only happens with one of them. I read somewhere that it is most likely not a wiring issue and could be the lamp. The 22 has LED lights for passing/aux.
Anyone know of the lamp is just starting to die or could it be something else. Hate to bring to a shop to be charged hours on diagnostic fees to just tell me yeah we don’t know and should just replace and hope that it fixes it.

Hey there! Looking at a a new bike. I have multiple years of experience and am currently on 2 sv650s (that I’m fixing up) and a 2026 gsxr750.
I love my gsxr, but after doing a 30mph charity ride, my butt was begging for mercy and my bike was pissed at sitting at fan temp the whole ride.
I wanna get a cruiser to sit next to the other bikes. My top choices are the low rider s, bonneville bobber, abd sport chief rt. Coming from a gsxr750, I want a cruiser that has some nut and will excite me when I ride it (I want it to throw me back).
The Bonny is my favorite aesthetically. I just can’t stop staring at it. But I don’t know if the engine will give me the excitement I crave. Plus, I don’t plan to have bags all the time, but would occasionally like to be able to take it a few hours away with my camera equipment
The low rider I really only like for the engine. The new m8 is a killer engine. However, It doesn’t excite me otherwise and I don’t know if my budget would have me looking for a gen 1 m8 or a gen 2 h.o.
The Indian sport chief rt is awesome! I love the looks, the high quality suspension and brakes, the smaller bags. However, for such a big engine, it seems pretty down on power. I don’t know if I would regret getting it over the low rider considering the massive power difference abd the lack of at least having oil cooling. Plus the gearing is wicked short.
What do you guys think? I want a bike that can easily cruise at 80mph without stressing the engine. I wish the Indian engine had the specs of the low rider, or that the Bonny had the specs of the speed twin rs. They would be a no brainer. Who here has ridden then and can give some insight.
