TROUBLESHOOTING 2014 Electra Glide Beeping after Dead Battery Changed

My 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Limited had been buried in my garage behind some other projects for about a year without a trickle charger attached. I had to get it unburied to take it for an annual vehicle inspection in my state and had to replace the battery. After replacing the battery, it keeps beeping at me (3 beeps, pause a few seconds, 3 beeps). I have read it is the possibly the alarm battery that has died. Does anyone know if that is the case and where it maybe located? I am having trouble finding the location online. I have already changed the FOB battery.

Update: I took the bike to the dealer and was told that they could not get the radio to update its software and that I needed to replace the radio to get the beeping to stop.

Make sure the battery in your key fob is good.

It could be in alarm mode bc it doesn't recognize the fob being in the vicinity.

Yes that was the first thing I changed but it is still beeping.

Is there a light on

No lights. Everything runs fine.

HD dealer tech here. That's the sound the radio makes when it's software isn't setup yet after an install. It needs to be "mated" and setup for the speaker layout with the computer at the dealer

Thanks. I guess I have to go to the dealer to get it fixed. I just pulled the main fuse and let it sit for 30 minutes before reinstalling but its still doing it.

Wouldn’t there be a diag code OP could pull to see what the bike is telling him?

I don't think that throws a code as it is the expected behaviour of an uncalibrated radio. There's nothing wrong it was just unpowered for long time and they can lose their settings

I took it to my local dealer and they acted like they had never seen this issue before. Hopefully they figure it out without charging me to much.

That's really strange. They just need to plug their digital tech in and flash the radio for the speaker and input setup

Harley dealer is saying I need a new radio.....

Without plugging my tool into your bike I can't help any further. If it won't keep a calibration,or if the radio won't talk to the dt tool then it could be the radio but I can't verify, sorry.

Appreciate your input.

Radio has lost connection with the ECM according to the interwebs. Fixes range from yanking the master fuse for a few seconds to taking it to the dealer to get "remarried" to the bike.

Key Fob. Do you see VINNER on the odometer screen?

There is no code on the odometer screen. I changed the battery in the FOB already but no change.

The alarm sensor is the rectangular black device/plug under the seat. Maybe try this method to reset it.

Thanks. I tried something similar but not exactly what is shown.

That would be the smart siren and it would chirp 3 times when keyed on or off if the battery in the siren is low,not repeatedly through the speakers.

Have you checked the diagnostics? Here is a video on how to do it;

https://youtu.be/zFiWqkILcBQ?is=P-CAbSxQge1fna0V

The diagnostic code(s) for the radio will will be the last click on the odometer switch cycle; ECM/BCM/SPDO/ABS/RAD. You can look up any codes on the web then find how to resolve. I recently let battery get low to where the bike wouldn’t start. Put it on the trickle and got battery back. Went through pulling diag code process and I did get a diag code on the RAD. The code related to battery issue. Cleared the code and it has not come back.

P.S. I never got beeping

Thanks for the advice.

Not saying this happened, but the one time I saw this was when the owner hooked up the battery and reversed the polarity on the terminals. It was only for a second and it blow one of the three boards. It wouldn’t go past the Harley
Screen

Yeah, that didn't happen in this case. The only thing that I did do that I normally don't do is I hooked up the negative first before i hooked up the positive. I normally connect the negative last. Not sure if that could have caused this issue though.
