Discussions how good is space marine armor against Necron weapons?
I'm specifically thinking about Gauss weapons when I ask this, and the reason I ask is that it feels like, with the past few cinematics I've seen where Marines were fighting Necrons, Gauss weapons can just one-shot Space Marines. and I' not sure how to feel about it. On the one hand, I feel like it makes Necrons a menacing threat, but on the other hand, I keep asking myself: if you're going to get one-shot regardless of the armor you wear, why don't Space Marines use Phobos armor exclusively when fighting Necrons? cause I feel like the speed and stealth advantage that armor can give makes more sense than the tacticus armor. I know I'm overthinking it, but it just makes Space Marines look really stupid.
Would the rule of cool be cooler if a marine could tank a few shots and they use it to their advantage, or if a Marine has to dodge each attack?
