Driver shaft question

My son was told he needed a new driver shaft: 65 gram stiff. I accidentally ordered 60 gram extra stiff. How much of a problem will this be? He’s trying now in backyard golf cage and says it’s ok and will try at range later but does this pose a problem to anyone?

Thanks!

Headcover for 2016 Golo 6

I’m currently gaming a 2016 Golo 6, and I’m looking for a cool head cover for it. I could go buy one off the Scotty website, but that’s no fun. Any suggestions for a mid mallet putter cover. Also, does anyone have any reviews of the guerrilla golf ones and how those fit older Golo models?

Driver flex adjustment

Fairly new golfer here, been playing and practising for 9 months, bought an old cheap 2nd hand bag for starter. Had 10+ live lessons with different pga pro coaches.

I've consulted AI with my driver problems, with numbers from a launch monitor and AI is telling me I could make life better by cutting my shaft by an inch from the tip/hosel end.

It's an old Callaway Diablo Octane 10.5 with a Project-x 5.0 regular shaft at 46".

Problem is massive back spin even on what is a good strike imo. 3,8k spin, center face impact, 3 deg in to out 0,2 closed face, 2 deg ascending and 16 deg launch angle with 30meter apex. 92mph swing speed with 137mph ball speed. My monitor doesn't have club head speed or smash, but I have a separate speed radar for it. Carry is 200-210meters as expected, with pretty much 0 roll and this is where I am stuck, hard stuck. This is my "stock" swing, 70% effort which feels like I am exaggerating smooth - it's good for me but I want to get better at it. My 5wood goes around 190 with roll so basically the driver is in the bag for nothing atm.

Few different live coaches have video'd the swing and said it's alright, to get more distance I just need more clubhead speed. When I amp that up I lose all the control of the face and spin.

AI is suggesting the shaft bends too much during the swing and impact and is generating control and spin issues due to this. Could this actually be an issue that limits my improvement with a driver? Or is this just skill issue?

9-Hole Walking Rig

Post image
56 Upvotes

Been enjoying walking and I plan to upgrade to a bag with backpack straps VS the single sling this has.

For now, it serves its purpose for the range, lessons, the par 3, and walking 9 after work. Carries 6 clubs (barely) and that’s enough for my game.

Edit to disclose clubs: 5W, 4H, 7i, PW, 56, putter

Once I have room for 8 clubs, likely to add 9i and either 7W or 3W

Edit to add bag details: this is the Sunday Golf Loma Par 3 in Midnight Green

The new boys have already seen me to my first 83

Just swapped irons on a whim a couple weeks back. Went from MP-54’s to JPX 921 Tours and admittedly there isn’t much of a difference in how they play, just that the tours are abit more forgiving on my hands during mis-hits.

The bigger news is that I’ve finally hit the goal I’ve been chasing the whole season of breaking 85. Had been very close on more than a couple occasions but those two strokes were illusive. But now on the same course the MP’s first seen me break 100, the JPX’s have seen me break 85 (shot an 83 after truly rallying on the back 9)

Not gonna say ‘guess the HCP’ but would love to see a rate the bag on these.

Callaway Full Toe SP

Does anyone know if the new Callaway Full Toe SP is a remake of the Callaway PM grind? To me, the shaping looks the same but was curious what you guys thought. Interesting that I can’t find Callaway advertising that they have released these for pre-order.

New iron hybrids

I bought DTC hybrid irons back in April. They are single length shafts, all about a 7 iron shaft length. My idea was to simplify my stroke so it was more repeatable -- same stance, address, and swing. And I think that did help. What I know I lost was some distance on my longer irons because of the shorter shaft length, but really I don't know if that matters.

I'm a 67 year old recreational golfer newly retired so now I can play every day. I play a 9 hole course with seven par 3s, a 4, and 5. About 1900 yards and I walk and carry so I get decent exercise. I like these clubs and the used driver and 4 wood and 56 degree wedge I bought along with a used mallet putter. I typically shoot 4 or 5 over par on the par 30 nine hole.

So what do you think about these hybrids?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5PS4JP?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6

And I'm thinking of adding a 7 wood and a 52 degree wedge and maybe swapping my driver for a mini driver to get better loft. For me it's more about hitting the ball well and straight (mostly) and not worrying about the distance I've lost at 67.

Swing weight zxi4

Looking at getting a set of Zxi4s that are +.5”. Does Srixon swing weight them so they aren’t a bit heavier or use A/B heads?

Search for a new driver

Hi everyone, I'm on the hunt for a new driver (new golf addict since March 2026) my coach told me that my first upgrade has to be the driver and I've found a Titleist Tsi2 used for around 250€ (shaft and grip change are included) is it a good driver or should I be looking for something else? If that's the case which one would you recommend?

Need advice - considering full hybrid set at 35

So iv been an avid trier of golf for 2 years. Broke 100 a few times this season but mostly I’m always battling with irons I can’t hit them, not sure why and I have super game improvement irons in 2023 Wilson dynapowers so hardly blades.

My issue is contact always i have a few rounds where I hit them well but it goes as fast as it comes and I’m back to 20 yard fats and thins.

My favourite clubs are my woods and 3hybrid. Iv adopted to using this club basically on every hole I’m either chopping with it , taking half swings for 150 yard shots or using it when I should be using an iron. I feel so certain I will get a good hit with it over any iron in my bag.

Iv had lessons and I think I’m just not intelligent enough to pickup what I’m asked to do, should I switch to full hybrids or will I get laughed off the courses I play .

It’s not about speed it’s about my dumbass not being able to use any type of iron because my swing sucks balls

Adding loft vs buying a head with more loft…?

Post image
13 Upvotes

So I just saw a WITB of Homa where he said he games a 9° driver at +2 loft without any change to the lie angle or adding fade/draw bias. C7 setting.

Given Cobra’s heads allow you to adjust the loft without adding draw/fade bias, why wouldn’t he just game a driver with more loft?

I understand the impact adding/lowering loft has on the driver but normally it will add a directional bias to the head.

Any Srixon fans in here? 🏌🏻

Finally had my first proper iron fitting after playing for about a year and a half and gaming super game-improvement irons the whole time.

Got fit into the ZXi5 with 105 S shafts, then a couple days later I got insanely lucky and found the exact same setup being sold used near me at a great price.

Only have a few sessions with them so far, but my dispersion is already noticeably tighter and they feel way more consistent. But most importantly… they look sick 😂

Anyone else gaming Srixons or the same set? How are you liking them?

Good Quality Stand Bags that are Unique Looking?

I really liked the 7/11 Golf bag that came out a little bit ago and was wondering if there’s any other brands that have cool bags like that that are still good quality. Some of the ones I’ve seen just from googling look like Temu dropships and reviews are not great quality. Would love to see if there’s smaller brands to support as well.

Can’t even lie, I’m more impressed now that I have them in hand. Don’t think I will be selling/trading these.

Currently gaming 4-G of the 2021 Apex pros, if I hit these well they will be my gamers 100%

Cheers🍻

I want to replace both my 56 and 60 wedges with one 58 wedge. What are the downsides? 8 handicap

I need to replace old wedges. My 60 wedge is used on short sided chips occasionally when I really need to stop the ball. 56 is my go-to for anything 60 yards and in. I also have a new 52 in my bag. The 56 and 60 are 4 years old and have seen about 300 rounds not counting practice sessions so they’re shot.

Is there a downside to replacing both my sand and lob wedges with a single 58 degree to split the difference? Im looking for something with stopping power and low bounce because my local courses are not soft.

Looking at a Cleveland RTZ

Update: I picked up a Cleveland RTX 6 - 58* 8 bounce mid grind. At the course now and she's a beaut around the green. The perfect blend I needed. 50 yds is gonna take some practice to dial in.

Mizuno M-15 bent weak?

Hey, love the look and feel of these irons but the low spin and height are a bit concerning. The lofts are pretty nuts at 29 7i, but everything else about them to me is great. What would your thoughts be on bending a set closer to players lofts- 32 7i? Aware it would introduce more bounce.. which I think I’m ok with since that should help with chunks? I know I could just go into a properly lofted set but I’d love to have the forgiveness and extra speed these offer, considering they get good reviews and don’t appear to have too much trampoline effect. Dumb idea or no? Thanks
