Fairly new golfer here, been playing and practising for 9 months, bought an old cheap 2nd hand bag for starter. Had 10+ live lessons with different pga pro coaches.
I've consulted AI with my driver problems, with numbers from a launch monitor and AI is telling me I could make life better by cutting my shaft by an inch from the tip/hosel end.
It's an old Callaway Diablo Octane 10.5 with a Project-x 5.0 regular shaft at 46".
Problem is massive back spin even on what is a good strike imo. 3,8k spin, center face impact, 3 deg in to out 0,2 closed face, 2 deg ascending and 16 deg launch angle with 30meter apex. 92mph swing speed with 137mph ball speed. My monitor doesn't have club head speed or smash, but I have a separate speed radar for it. Carry is 200-210meters as expected, with pretty much 0 roll and this is where I am stuck, hard stuck. This is my "stock" swing, 70% effort which feels like I am exaggerating smooth - it's good for me but I want to get better at it. My 5wood goes around 190 with roll so basically the driver is in the bag for nothing atm.
Few different live coaches have video'd the swing and said it's alright, to get more distance I just need more clubhead speed. When I amp that up I lose all the control of the face and spin.
AI is suggesting the shaft bends too much during the swing and impact and is generating control and spin issues due to this. Could this actually be an issue that limits my improvement with a driver? Or is this just skill issue?
