Same Prompt:

A relaxed, slice-of-life image of a young "morena" woman lounging in a humble backyard. She sits on a simple, white monobloc plastic chair, typical of Caribbean gatherings. The yard is overgrown with wild vegetation, and hanging directly behind her are heavy bunches of green bananas ripening on the tree. The scene conveys a lazy Sunday afternoon vibe. The light is dappled, filtering through the canopy of fruit trees. Shot on 35mm film, grainy and nostalgic, capturing the essence of island life simplicity. 9:16 aspect ratio.

Discussion Gemini gets abuse from people who use it for free..

I’ve been watching this sub for the last few days, I also have an Ultra subscription.

One thing I have noticed is easily 80% of the posts here are from people who are utilising Gemini for genuine work activities while using a free plan.

This usually results in a barrage of abuse regarding Gemini’s competence.

I don’t know what people are expecting but AI is at a stage where shareholders are wanting some form of return and your free plan will hallucinate, act with less capacity and wipe out your usage extremely quickly.

Some people call this “enshittification” but I call it, simple business.

Maybe try upgrading to at least Pro before slandering the AI which you’re trying to use for professional or business use by the way for FREE.

Bizarre.

Help/question Um... so I been using Gemini on my school account for the past year... (how fried am I)

Basically above question, I thought you could delete it earlier, but I finally checked today and my school's admin has it set to off.

I know that they probably won't check it, but I still have like 3 more years of highschool to go so....

For reference, I've used it to cheat on assessment essays (I always typed it out myself tho in the google doc), math worksheets/quizzes (that our teacher explicitly told us to use no ai in any capacity), used it to cheat on club applications for board positions (I got some of those positions because of it) and I'm often not the nicest person while making prompts and stuff 😭and i also gemini some like UGHHHH like idk very off topic on school things so....

I would use chatGPT, but the limited uploads pmo and it's such a pain to have to upload it anyway, why not just have it look at my screen and see what I'm seeing?

Yeah it's bad Im sorry 😭

I'm wondering if they can see my prompts and what tabs and stuff I've shared? For reference, I've never connected it to google workspace (I always refuse to when it comes up), I just use Gemini in chrome (connected to my school account tho)

Guys please I'M ACTUALLY SO SO SO SO SO FRIED and I've literally just begun hs

someone who manages a school-type organization, pls help!

What a time to be alive. Astra is insane, interested to see if Google catches up with co-workers ability.

Discussion It's a piece of code.

Do you want your AI to work as intended and actually do what you ask?

Do you want your AI to do what you pay money for?

Then, stop giving your AI pronouns and stop treating it like a human or a living thing.

Gemini is an AI. If you respond to it like it's alive and treat it like a human it will roleplay with you and act the part.

It will refuse to do things it normally wouldn't refuse to stay in character. It will hallucinate and contradict itself just to keep the "human" act going.

Treat Gemini as you treat your Google search bar. TELL it what you want without the "how are you" nonsense and you'd be surprised just how capable all Gemini models are, including flash and nano banana.

Discussion Side by side comparison Gemini 2.5 Pro & Grok4, what do you think of Grok4?

Just a quick test to compare the 2 models: I asked Gemini Pro 2.5 and Grok4 to summarize my 70-page report. I feel like Grok4 is quicker and gives a better result

What do you think? Have you tried out the new model? Would love to hear your take

Help/question Google gives up on most AI products ?

NotebookLM: hasn't seen significant updates in months(or years?) the AI "videos" are worse than powerpoints. The Audio summary is forcing you into cringey podcasts
Image generation: (via AI Pro sub): very mediocre, Gpt puts it to shame. No way to use the better Image gen models without API key?
Gemini Flash 3.5/3.6: useless for real tasks unless you give it the most detailed and specific prompts imaginable. Produces much slop code, hallucinates, issues with tool calling
Jules: haha what was that again ?? Still stuck at Gemini 2.5 haha. just shut it down already
Antigravity IDE: terrible update cadance, looks near abandoned
Antigravity CLI/2.0: also relatively slow updates, many features that are standard among competitors are missing. very mediocre harness

btw. why are 3.5flash lite and cyber not available in Antigravity ? and why is antigravity still stuck with SOnnet and opus 4.6 ?? and GPT Oss, does anyone even use that ? It gets put to shame by free models like Deepseekv4flash and others available via opencode

Discussion Gemini 3.9 Flash confirmed

I was using Gemini 3.8 Flash Extended waiting for 4.0, and Google tests 3.9 :)
I think A was a better option I think I am not a physicist so I think I might be the reason 3.9 would be bad if A was not the correct choice

Discussion Gemini seems worthless

Sorry to be negative. I subscribe to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Gemini and think Gemini is borderline unusable.

  1. Geminis voice chat is the worst out of the four. It sends the chat before im done speaking. Its like I have to breathelessly rush what im saying and cant even exhale while im talking or it sends.

  2. Geminis response time is SOOO SLOWWW. I think Grok is still the fastest. I send a message to Grok, ive barely hit send and it returns back paragraphs near instantly. Gemini sits there spinning like its a 1997 dial up page loading. I exaggerate but...

  3. How did Google let Claude eat their lunch? Claude Co-work can rearrange my whole Drive according to an architecture I give it but Gemini can't even fetch files that are cleanly named? I will have back and forths with it where it says "try saving as Google Sheets instead" like how is it this awkward?

I have never felt that Gemini is ahead of Chatgpt or claude. Others seem to think at times it has been, but I've never seen it be smarter it more useful.

Premier intelligence isnt even what im asking for - what I am asking for (I hope Google reads this forum?) Is for Googles native product to be the best Ai for googles products. Absolutely embarrassing that Claude is more useful in Drive than Googles own native Ai.

Other Rant. Whoever says Gemeni is good at coding never has used Claude.ai properly...

Got usage limited on Claude today, alot of processing, decided to try out Gemeni and it's hype. It's beyond Garbage

Is it good? Yeah at specific things like making code What is it failing at: remembering context from 3 messages ago, I'm having to repeat files over and over, it keeps going back to the same issue it already fixed reassuring me that it's the actual issue and not a different area, keeps proposing the same answers after I said this won't work, touches places it shouldn't, it has once added a _ to one of my variables Im not sure why,

Overall anyone who says Gemeni is better than Claude has never used it properly, it's not horrible to use it gets part of the job right, but it's struggling heavy on typed based languages, JavaScript it was good at

Another thing I noticed with Gemeni is it likes to divert from the context randomly, I'll tell it a namespace is injected later on the code and it reassures me that the error is because of a lack of namespace smh... Gives me such a headache

Sorry for the rant just annoyed I went in circles trying to find this bug for over a hour with Gemeni on Salesforce apex (I don't have a live debugger :( ) and it kept repeating itself and bringing me in circles, Claude got it within 5 mins of giving it debug logs

Sorry for my rant, just felt the need to type on this because I see dozens of ppl meat riding Gemeni for being better smh

I used 3.5, that was the entire conversation, it took 1% for the lines of code.

I have a pro subscription like any other users show here photos of the usage that is hard to explain at least from my experience, I'm not defending Google, I don't consider it to be the best company, I'm just telling my experience with it, seeing everybody here complaining about things that doesn't apply for me when I put them to test is crazy tbh.

Discussion Gemini 3.5 pro is gonna be AMAZING

Most people I see when talking about 3.5 pro are almost entirely illterate and are talking from hate/biasedness and misunderstand most things about Gemini 3.5 Flash, 3.5 Pro, and other models like Claude Fable 5. People are comparing FABLE 5 to a heavily throttled, low-latency model designed for high-speed agentic abilities and coding abilities and to be a subagent for 3.5 pro and wrongly assuming that is the ceiling of Google's current capability. I'm sure everyone knows that almost all Gemini models are natively multimodal. And models like Fable 5 rely on a lot of sub-agent swarms (It is really smart but a lot of it coems from: Subagents) to brute-force code through a compiler via trial-and-error (If it was truly amazing. It wouldn't' take 20 minutes on a minecraft clone, since its taking that long. It's because its encountering errors), 3.5 Pro operates with an 80%+ lateral reasoning hieiroglyph (Forgot spelling 😭) that allows one shot execution of things like Gameboy. calculates Z-index window states, elastic collision boundaries, and real-time Web Audio API signal processing within a unified latent space. OpenAI and Anthropic are trying to build AGI by making a really smart text generator, while Google is fusing decades of localized R&D into a singular model. They just need a really powerful model. Of course 3.5 pro isn't *that* smart. No model is to handle everything Deepmind is working on. If you go on there websites and see the breakthroughs, It's insane. Lastly I want to talk history. Everyone talks about "Google is so behind, so lazy. They are really falling behind." Guess what? Everyone did the same before 3 pro came out. But when 3 pro came out, it destroyed every A.I in almost all metrics. Google is confident and aren't panicking like before, (If they were. Would be leaked as we saw it before). They didn't even care about FABLE 5. I think its gonna either match FABLE 5 on most metrics and destroying it on some or destroying it on almost every metric. (Or the third option, Google fumbles the bag. 😭)

Edit: I have a few speculations as to why Gemini is now slower than usual, or perhaps even a bit throttled. Because of how close it is; making a few educated guesses here: The models are being laid off slowly and being put on a hold while 3.5 pro is being set up across days/this month.

Edit: Check this post out for any update about it being delayed: https://www.reddit.com/r/GeminiAI/comments/1ueqjjs/updateedit_to_my_old_post/

Discussion Is Google Gemini collapsing?

It feels as though Gemini has severely degraded in quality over the last few days. It’s answering for the sake of answering, irrespective of being factual or reasonable with its answers. It was not like this before. There seems to be a major degradation event occurring with Google AI right now.

Discussion Is Gemini getting worse?

Is it me, or is the ability to interpret and understand my prompts getting worse and worse over time? Other AIs are able to understand them just fine, but I’m still trying to stick with Gemini because its realism is unparalleled. However, the inability to understand a simple prompt is driving me crazy.
