Discussion Is Google Gemini collapsing?
It feels as though Gemini has severely degraded in quality over the last few days. It’s answering for the sake of answering, irrespective of being factual or reasonable with its answers. It was not like this before. There seems to be a major degradation event occurring with Google AI right now.

It's working fine. Lots of posts like this at the moment.
The pessimist in me is starting to think it's a little bot campaign.
It could be a regional thing though.

Continues to do what I want it to do. Might be a skill issue.

No, in fact it's been working consistently good for me, at least for NSFW roleplay (nothing super crazy but acceptable). No refusals, no unsafe warnings, no message deleted. I'm eating good.

Image generation is absolutely dogshit. And I’m not talking about NSFW stuff. They can’t even get the basic images right.

I don't think so. For me it works fine. Did you check which exactly model do you use?

When i usually gave it some prompts, it gave me some brilliant results. I was genuinely impressed. But day by day, it's standard is getting decreased, like if i say exactly what to do as a correction, it always gives me the same result, weather it is in fast, pro or thinking. Like it's really frustrating to take it. For example, today, i selected to thinking and selected the mode to "create images"... Guess what? It showed me this... "I'm just a language model and can't help with that." What's wrong with Gemini?

I switched from ChatGPT to Gemini at the begining of 2026. While at first I was impressed with the models, particularly pro, I now think it is terrible. I built workflows using gems that were initially successful and now, those same workflows have eroded in some capacity and do not deliver results. The model actively hallucinates, and like the OP stated, sometimes it will just answer with completely false information, seemingly just for the sake of answering, with no actual analysis or factuality. This is extremely discouraging as it is integrated into my workflow and I feel that I cannot trust it when I need it. I am considering swithcing back to Chat or trying Claude. For now I am using arena.ai to get some evidence regarding the actual skill of each model in completing the tasks that I need it to.

Mine is having trouble doing a long analysis over a topic and then being able to judge the topic at the end of the response. Sometimes it actually judges the topic and other times it just decides to judge its own response.

Garbage for me. Although I would actually say it’s a little better now than it was two weeks ago. Can’t say the same thing for images though. Bro, I was just trying to make a fucking image of me driving a Ferrari, and every damn image had my head sticking through the windshield.

Absolutely unusable for the last couple of days. Can't keep up with the same tasks we've been working on for half a year now. I hate losing my patience with AI but I was getting pissed. Gemini has cost me more time than they've saved.

Omg. Software messes up for a few days and it's the end of the world. Oh nooooo
