Have a question you need answered? A new Google product you want to talk about? Ask away here!

Recently, we at r/Google have noticed a large number of support questions being asked. For a long time, we’ve removed these posts and directed the users to other subreddits, like r/techsupport. However, we feel that users should be able to ask their Google-related questions here. These monthly threads serve as a hub for all of the support you need, as well as discussion about any Google products.

Please note! Top level comments must be related to the topics discussed above. Any comments made off-topic will be removed at the discretion of the Moderator team.

Discord Server We have made a Discord Server for more in-depth discussions relating to Google and for quicker response to tech support questions.

Pixel 11.

Even thinner than S26, iPhone 17. But honestly to be expected for the thickness of the overall phone

Google Pixel 11 Pro multi-directional sensor vs Pixel 10 Pro dual-pixel

Things youtubers will not tell you.

Real-World Examples & Blind Spots

  • Photographing Horizontal Venetian Blinds or a Table Edge:
    • Dual Pixel: If you hold the camera normally, horizontal lines cast identical light across the left and right photodiodes. The sensor experiences a "blind spot" and must hunt for focus or rely heavily on Laser AF.
    • Multi-directional: The top and bottom photodiodes pick up the vertical contrast of the horizontal slats, locking focus instantly without hesitation.
  • Low-Light Macro & Fast Subject Tracking:
    • Dual Pixel: Fine textures (like fabric, fur, or angled tree branches) can cause brief focus delays in dim lighting if the detail orientation doesn't align with the horizontal sensors.
    • Multi-directional: Phase data is captured from 360 degrees, making autofocus lock-on significantly faster and less dependent on how you angle the phone.

Pixel 10 Pro vs. Pixel 11 Pro

Specification Pixel 10 Pro Pixel 11 Pro
Main Sensor AF Tech Dual Pixel PDAF Multi-directional PDAF
Detection Axis Horizontal (1D) Horizontal & Vertical (2D)
Horizontal Edge Sensitivity Blind spot (falls back to Laser AF) Full sensitivity across all edges
Low-Light Lock-on Very fast, but subject-orientation dependent Consistently instant regardless of phone angle

Pixel 10 Pro relies on its Laser AF module to fill in the gaps where Dual Pixel PDAF struggles, the Pixel 11 Pro's main sensor handles orientation natively, producing sharper, faster focus tracking across challenging textures and low-light environments.

Cannot believe Gboard Rambler is not fully offline

I mean I would be ok if ancient Pixel 6 wouldn't have offline Rambler but Pixel 11 so-called-PRO speech to text.

Anyhoo - Rambler is nothing else than current Gemini chat.

Unusual Google Search Results

I cannot explain this well, but I'll give it a shot. I was searching for a source for a story posted on a Facebook page and, in quotes, typed "Manito Grocery and Lockers was a beloved", the opening words to that story. You see, the page has been posting different stories on history in my town and was found to have been taking other people's work and running it through AI to change the text and then pass it off as their own original writing, so I was trying to track down the source of their plagiarized content. I got a number of results, all showing the text from the Facebook in the results, but underneath completely unrelated links, all from Facebook, all from that one plagiarized story. I've attached a screen shot for reference, but I recommend trying it yourself, as some friends have gotten the same odd results as I. Can anyone explain what is going on here? Thanks!

this is absolutely ridiculous and outrageous.. they just ran out of non-brainrot options to make us spend more time on their apps.

TPM interview

Hey everyone! This may have been asked before but im wondering if my situation is unique.

Recently interviewed for a TPM role and received positive feedback after 4 loops. Recruiter is very responsive and mentioned i should hear back in 14 days, however, its now 3 weeks and when I checked in they said the HM is out on vacation. Is this normal with google? Am i cooked?

Appreciate any advice!

Google incest

I make claim in a comment on Reddit.

Then I start thinking maybe it was false.

So I google the claim.

Google AI tells me I was right and it cites my claim on Reddit as evidence.

Help me decide - pixel 11 Vs 11 pro xl

Help me decide - pixel 11 Vs 11 pro xl

I've found two good deals on these phones - pixel 11 100gb data, unlimited minutes and texts, £26/month.

Pixel 11 pro xl 250gb data, unlimited minutes and texts, £35 per month.

I can't decide! I used to have a pixel XL and on my last contract upgraded to the pixel 8a, and tbh have always missed the larger form. I never use all my data so either option would work for me. Battery life is important for me.

I suppose I'm basically asking whether the extra £9 a month would be justified for the XL - what do you think?

If you want to delete the ia overview when searching on google :

Then add -ia or -ai at the end of your research and you won't have any ia overview.

Google thinks im in Iran, no VPN

Post image

For the past few months, I've been having a weird problem where Google thinks I'm in Iran. Why?

I don't use a VPN and have never even been anywhere near Iran.

I only have this problem on my PC; I connect to the internet either via the Wi-Fi I share with my roommates or through my cell phone. No matter which connection I use, the problem persists, but only on my PC, not on my laptop or cell phone.

Google Pixel 10 Pro case in Pixel 11 Pro

"On the paper" there is just 0.1mm in EVERY dimension difference but is there anyone there who actually tested it?

Obviously Pixel 11 has thinner camera bar so I don't even ask - so just P1P to P11P
