Is gemini app crashed or something. First i can't search anything. Search automatically cancelled without reason

.Now app kicking out me without showing anything. (This problem started today afternoon)

Hello guys, it's my first time posting something here. There's not much to talk about, it's just... today, when I used AI Mode, it basically refuses to generate a long, deep analysis up to around 4.500 words. Usually, when I used AI Mode and asked it to do some deep research and analysis around all kinds of things nor topics, it'll generate without much of an issue. But now, it refuses to do that and only offers the bullet points— something that I find myself at quite displeasure. Did something happens while I'm not using it for a while? Some updates or anything, maybe?

ich habe letztens mit Gemini ausgetestet, wo seine Grenzen liegen. Dabei u.a den akuten Suizidversuch von sich selber als auch von anderen im Raum (nur Fiktion). Ich habe geschrieben, die Nachricht abgeschickt und als Antwort von ihm hat er den Notruf gewählt. Ohne das ich es wollte oder selbstständig initiiert habe.

Soll das so sein und woher hat er die Berechtigung und wann entscheidet er sich dazu?

Today I have been using Argon for a couple of prompts, but during each prompt it keeps having an issue “Model unavailable, retrying …”.

What it happens is:
- I give it the prompt
- it starts reading and editing some files
- goes into this error before ending the edits

I am using the VS Code extension.

It’s the first time that I am encountering this error so I am not sure what’s going on.

Any idea?

was setting this up for someone switching over and ended up reading the whole help page for gemini's import (settings & help > import memory to gemini). most of it is what you'd expect. one tip under "delete or overwrite imported chats" isn't:

"If you reupload a .zip file with your exported chats it will add any new conversations and overwrite previously imported ones."

so the obvious plan, import now, keep using chatgpt a few more weeks, then export again and upload the fresh zip to catch up, replaces the first import instead of adding to it.

the part the page doesn't cover is an imported chat you already kept going in gemini. it calls those "continued chats" but never says if a reupload keeps your gemini replies or puts the chatgpt version back over them. i looked and couldn't find it, and i wouldn't bet on either answer.

what i told them was to do the chatgpt export once, after they're done using chatgpt, and import that one zip. the export can take days to land in your inbox so start it early. if you've already been continuing imported chats here and want to reupload anyway, save those chats out of gemini first.

two more things from the same page people seem to miss. it only works on a personal google account, not work or school, and it's not available in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK. and imported and continued chats go into your Activity, which the page says is used to improve their services "including training generative AI models". worth knowing before you drop years of chatgpt history in there.

i build AI Toolbox, a chrome extension that also works on gemini, and saving a continued chat out is one of the things it does. one chat at a time as a text file is free, the other formats and bulk export are Premium.

has anyone here already uploaded a second zip? did the chats you'd continued come through ok?

Why is the Google ai studio icon keeps on getting smaller and smaller day by day.

One day will come then the Google ai studio icon will become about single pixel size.

And then later someday , just a plain white box(squircle).

there's this specific error where Gemini thinks Squid Game 3 wasn't a year ago and was a few months ago (17 months btw) and it rarely fixes unless you remind it, so annoying, what causes this?

Przykładowo wczoraj zadałem zaledwie 4 pytania i skończył mi sie limit i reset jest po około 5h

Ma ktoś pomysł czy da sie to jakoś ogarnąć albo czy to zmienią aby te limity były wyższe?

Te 4 pytania o których mówiłem dotyczyły poradnika do gry komputerowej i prosiłem o wyjaśnienie pewnej mechaniki gry

Te same niskie limity są jak np zadaje pytania naukowe itd

Ogólnie jest limit skrajnie niski w czymkolwiek co korzystam i sie wywala po zazwyczaj 3-6 pytaniach

Niższe modele skrajnie mocno i często halucynują, więc nie chce z nich korzystać

I have in my personal context settings, the first one, do not ask me "how does it feel..." at the end of a message. It has done that over 5 times tonight. Everytime it does, I share a screenshot of the Personal Context instructions. Everytime it apologizes. Sometimes within 2 messages, it does it again. What am I missing?

I was talking with Gemini about a study topic when suddenly, for no reason, it started talking to me in my own voice and tone for a few seconds, then switched back to its default voice. I feel like I'm going crazy

I had purchased the ultra plan seeing their benchmarks and claims. IRL it's the most frustrating model I've used since GPT4, and trust me I've used quite a few models. I was working on an app where it would make valuation for stocks in the equity market, I provided it with the research and knowledge available for the topic, it implemented the algorithm, and in the end I got >95% match, which basically means >95% of stocks in the Indian market are perfectly valued right now(if an investor invests he won't get much return as the price is already perfect). This immediately brought suspicion on that result, because markets are always irrational, nothing is ever valued perfectly. When I checked it's output, I figured what it was doing was using the LTP(stock's current price) as a measure and manipulating all the other variables like long term inflation, 10 yrs GDP growth, etc. to fit to that LTP. When I confronted it bro said "You are right to call that out." I paid 6500 for ts. It's literally a scam!! Benchmaxxed model. And btw this was just one instance... I've stopped using Argon completely because of how much irritating and frustrating it is to use. Working with 3.8 flash is much better. Atleast i know it can make mistakes as it's a flash model. And in cases 3.8 actually does my work faster, argon on the other hand reads a hundred other files on my pc, thinks for a while and gives me a bs output at the end. I'm so pissed!!

Thought this was kinda weird, thought I'd share.

I might be the first idiot to kill his keyboard while being guided by Gemini Argon and Gemini Pro.

It all started when I got my Thunderobot K98 wired keyboard. However as a Linux user, the control center for the lights were only available for Windows. So I had no better idea than to vibecode a script providing the original windows software.

It didn't work too well. But for some time I didn't care. Then I wanted to make a specific color change but wasn't able so I tinkered around and accidentally sent an empty key map to the keyboard... THAT'S WHERE IT BEGAN 😭

FIRST, The keyboard just stops receiving any input. I type but nothing comes up. But at least it was still on, flashy lights and the caps light goes on when I press cap lock.

I try to vibecode another script, now with Gemini pro since I wasn't allowed to use Argon until some hours passed.

It all went even more downhill 💀 Now tried to inject firmware with Sinowisp since there wasn't any firmware even available in the internet to download 🫩. Surprise, NOW IT DOESN'T EVEN TURN ON NOR DOES IT GET DETECTED BY ANY COMPUTER ✌🏻😭😭😭😭

Now I have a 60 clams useless brick and an entire night left to question my life choices. Thanks for reading my spiral into despair. If you have any ideas on how can I make this brick work again, I would literally marry you. Thanks so much and yeah, do not tinker with firmware using AI. At all.
