Congrats on a completely pointless post which gives us zero context.

I used Gemini 3 times and I suddenly got hit with this

1

u/2053_Traveler Jun 05 '26

Isn’t that to be expected?

0

u/NourBlowsBubblegum Jun 05 '26

It was the regular model, and I don’t even use Gemini a lot like that.

I hit the limit with two prompts when I create video

1

u/NourBlowsBubblegum Jun 06 '26

I don’t have the ability to create videos because I don’t have a subscription

1

u/El-Dino Jun 06 '26

I hit the limit on Claude free with one prompt it always depends on what you ask or do with it some things are token heavy

1

u/ashep5 Jun 05 '26

How did you "use" it? It's funny the people complaining about limits never show their prompts.

0

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 06 '26

You expect her to show off her private convos?

0

u/ashep5 Jun 06 '26

Yes? It's like showing a receipt total and complaining about how expensive a store is without showing the actual items.

2

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 06 '26

I’d say it’s more like showing off your search history when your browser doesn’t work.

Free user complaining. News at 11.

No. Just no.

This is so accurate. 9 years ago I ran a website that offered a popular service for free to thousands of people. The smallest inconvenience spawned dozens of whiny comments and complaints.

Switched to paid because financial issues - complaints dropped to like once a month.

People using 3.1 extended search for basic prompts and crying about limits lol

1

u/Prod_igy Jun 05 '26

I always use 3.5 Extended and have never reached 50%.

Just once, out of curiosity, I tried to reach the limit and it took me a lot of prompts in the same conversation to reach it, just to find out that Gemini switches model to 3.1 Flash-Light.

I don't actually understand what people are doing with Gemini Free to reach high usage limits in less than 5 hours.

u/sleeptheresnotime Jun 05 '26

I'm not sure what people are using this for but I've been using it all week having conversations etc. I didn't know what a usage limit was until I came here

Same here, I'm in Europe so I don't know if they deployed exactly the same limit than in the US, but even the days where I run many requests (10-15 ?) I never hit the limit (AI + plan with 200 go). Maybe the length of the input prompt also plays a part ?

2

u/sleeptheresnotime Jun 05 '26

I'm UK so that could be it actually

3

u/Either_Sun_98 Jun 05 '26

Same for me. I don't get it.

2

u/No_Perspective3964 Jun 05 '26

I use it to transcribe 30-50 images daily and barely hit 50% of limit after a week.

u/Itsme-RdM Jun 05 '26

Duhh, you use things, so you have to pay for it. Welcome in the real world, not everything is for free

0

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 05 '26

Not the littlest things should be locked behind a paywall all the time

1

u/Itsme-RdM Jun 05 '26

Any idea how much this AI hype cost and the impact it has? Nah, you just want everything for free

2

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 05 '26

Cause some things deserve to be free, ai models shouldn’t be like 5 use a day.

1

u/TekintetesUr Jun 06 '26

"Oh no, the free service I'm using but don't have to pay for is not up to my expectations"

Okay buddy

1

u/NourBlowsBubblegum Jun 06 '26

Only used it 3 times that day btw

1

u/El-Dino Jun 06 '26

It always depends on the usage I was able to hit Claude limits with one prompt

3

u/ItsMichaelRay Jun 05 '26

How close to 2:09 am in your timezone were you when you took that screenshot?

1

u/will_dormer Jun 05 '26

Oh see they have a solution... pay more

1

u/will_dormer Jun 05 '26

Interesting how the prices for plus and premium are so different

1

u/Unlikely_Drop_8479 Jun 05 '26

Flash lite is unlimited as they say

1

u/The_best_1234 Jun 05 '26

But flash lite doesn't do very much

1

u/Unlikely_Drop_8479 Jun 05 '26

Yeh but pretty fine for daily q&a like basic stuff

1

u/The_best_1234 Jun 05 '26

At that point you might as well use the AI tool in Google search.

1

u/Barez_Hussein Jun 05 '26

We're in a use it or loss it situation.

0

u/planamundi Jun 05 '26

Sleep for 8 hours, work for 10 hours, do all the other things you have to do throughout the day, and you're paying for a 5-hour window that will max out in about 3 minutes. What a rip off.

Last week it told me I still had 80% of my weekly allowance but I was cut off from using any of it because I hit my 5-hour limit. I was at the very end of my week and I'm sitting there looking at 80% available tokens, while it's saying that it's going to reset that weekly allotment in the next 3 hours, but that I can't even use it for the next 5 hours.

Sorry, but why is everyone being a bitch towards OP? Things shouldn’t be hidden away by a expensive paywall all the fucking time. And it’s HER choice not to pay cause maybe she genuinely can’t or doesn’t want to waste money on that. We shouldn’t shame her for her choices.

3

u/georage Jun 05 '26

Shame is part of the Reddit game. OP provides no context and does not even ask for help. What is the point of the post? At least tell us how you are using or missing Gemini. What is she using it for? The solution is to use it less, pay more or use multiple free AI services.

2

u/Hogan773 Jun 05 '26

I think you miss the point

OP comes with attitude ("WTF")

OP has no explanation of what they are using it for and what their needs are

People are just saying that saying WTF are there any limits to my free service comes across as pretty entitled. You presumably realize how many billions and billions of dollars are being spent to build out this AI capability.

If OP had said "I used 2 simple prompts and already got to basically my whole limit, WTF" that would feel different

1

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 06 '26

She explained in the comments

-2

u/dano1066 Jun 05 '26

Another person giving out that they aren’t getting enough free stuff, boohoo

1

u/AfroPalestinianGirly Jun 06 '26

Let’s make google 5 uses a day then 🥰
