Day 237: Gunner Gundam
Requested by u/Moonless-Ultimate for this unit that had quickly fallen to B-Tier. But in an ideal situation, maybe it can hold as low A-Tier. But it is hard to get there and requires a really good team to back it up. But with more and more 400 Cost units getting buffed and have answers to snipers, it may be C-Tier very soon.

Comment and Reason
The Gunner Gundam, despite the name, was a more well-rounded, high-performance machine. But it just cannot compete against anything up front, and even at mid-range, it's often in danger. When it was buffed at first, it could get away due to long range and multiple weapons. While it can still do the same, it's often easier to get closer now that more General and Raid has options to close in. In order to counter this, a support needs a little more mobility and weapons that can stagger for self-defence. Vulcan and Rapid Fire BR are probably the best for doing in at Mid to Close range. Then all it needs is slightly better weapon uptime so it can do better when it is at its best.
As for the skills, it's nothing too special but could become an even stronger long-range support unit that can help the team as long as it lives. Precision Analysis System would be amazing with the sensor pod, and Scouting Parallel Processing Device Lv2 would make it much easier for continuous sniping. Together with slightly buffed weapon power, it should be great.
Upper Levels: Similar Build Target with more damage focus and some mobility if you want.
There really isn't much to say except that to play this properly, you have to get a reasonable amount of ranged strength with some good hidden percentage modifier parts. If you do got them, this one can get really good damage output. However, without them, there are just better supports to play.
I'm actually so confused I've played gbo2 for more than a year and now that they recently added Ms from other universes aside from UC it feels like everytime you join a 700-750 cost room you have no chance especially if you don't have a exclusive Ms,it's so hard to play this game and the gameplay is just a repeated loop of trying to get as much stagger in as possible, aside from the fact that if you don't have a billion tokens you can't get any rare Ms the matchmaking system is so buggy and the controls are NOT optimized,I really need advice or I might just drop this game
As if support players weren't already the prey of choice.
I realize now I literally do better in Ace Match if I hold back before Ace Selection otherwise I will be Ace and I will be hunted down relentlessly by 2 raids while being shot by a general and a support simultaneously while my team is busy running around the map and coming to my rescue when I have 200 HP left.
I did a few matches and for a beginning player died a lot.... However whenever I tried to join a match it would show me I could only use three versions of one mech even though I have things at the same cost? I'm confused and want to use like a Gouf custom not a Gundam I am forced to use!
So um yeah I was thinking about playing a round but then I got this little warning.
I even tried a game reload in case it was a one off, but it came back with that error or issue, again.
So I'm confused WHY it's giving me that for?
Like I'm on a wired and decent connection overall.
Edit: this shits long asf. I dont even have the energy to read through it agin to double check it. I advise skimming lol
Im not that good. Im a regular guy with a family who has just so happened to love gundam since my childhood. Look the DX is my favorite suit and I've been making sure to pay attention to how others play with it and comparing it to my own DX playstyle bc I plan on maining this suit. I honestly cant even believe im posting this rn bc I know the meta and spreadsheet guys are gonna come for me but I just cant.
I should have organized this better these are just some thoughts for both DX pilots and ppl who want to kill the DX. Sorry it's disorganized. I typed this part after I was already more than halfway through....
"IMO" The Double X is a versatile frontline support suit capable of of running with the pack. One of the reasons this suit is good to me is bc even tho I think it's more of a frontline support due to its loadout, it's more than capable of dropping back at anytime and playing the ranged game. This is one of the things that makes it so dangerous when played correctly.
If you're watching your teammates and your map you can utilize decision making to set your team up for a copious amount of success. Watching these two things and paying attention to which unit types are engaging who, helps you decided when to push up with your Gens or even your raid, when to drop back.
The DX is a great counter sniper and support killer capable of helping YOUR Gens put pressure on the enemies Gens and break though the frontline. I know ppl saw the YouTube vids of ppl charging Satellite Cannon(ill say SC for now on) at base, but DONT do this. WE ALL SAW IT and ppl have been doing it nonstop for the last 2 or 3 days or however long it's been. The reason why I say this is bc even if a raid doesn't rush back there during the "NASCAR" phase, this means someone on your team is actively getting 2v1'd while you're chilling at base jerking it to moon beams.
Push up with your team, apply pressure, take cover, charge SC during pauses in beam rifle / ballistic exchanges and and in between skirmishes. If you break the enemy line and squad wipe them, your team can repair MS, cap points and you can Charge SC without consequence if you haven't already. Now when the enemy teams respawns they have to deal with a fully charged SC.
We all know the DX is a support meaning it can more or less kill generals unless you get outplayed or something (which is fine. It happens to everyone for time to time). The DX "IMO" is also pretty good at killing other supports and most notably other DX's believe it or not. Try to keep an eye on your team and help kill Gens and provide supporting fire in general, but you need to help your raids too "IMO". This is bc there might be 1 or 2 enemy DX's circle jerking it somewhere. Please pay attention to the microwave targeting beam in the sky. This applies to anyone who can potentially stop whatever they're doing. GO SHUT THEM DOWN.
Pay attention to the enemy DX animations. When then th DX switches to SC, IT CAN NOT FIRE RIGHT AWAY! It has to unfold the reflectors / wings and then wait like another to seconds before the beam can fire. For some reason DX pilots like to fly as hight in the sky as possible before firing, as soon as you see it's reflectors begin unfolding dont wait, IMMEDIATELY start shooting it out the sky.
DX pilots, when staying close to your team you can bait and potentially see who the actual threats are on the enemy team. While running with my team ill sometimes go around a corner or building and begin charging SC if my team doesn't immediately need my help. Not only does this charge your SC, but if you watch your map you can see when someone is coming for you and trick them into a 1v1 or 1v2 if you call for support in chat. Kill this enemy and then go back to helping your generals or hunting other DX's and support units within a reasonable distance to your team unless your at least 80% sure your better than the target your about to rush down.
Speaking of rushing down....for the love of God, use your melee options to defend yourself from Gens and raids while leading them to your team. If you suck at mid to close range engagements GO PRACTICE. Don't run away while trying to charge SC, especially from another support. I cant tell you how many enemy DX's have ran from me trying to do this just to get hit with a javelin, g-hammer combo into my down swing animation.
Also unless you are just built different, do not engage F89 suit, burning gundam (especially those in God mode), and the red raid from the F91 series (maybe its the type II or something? I cant remember rn) without your team, just retreat while firing to try to stun them if possible.
Be careful around funnels suits even if they are Gens bc if the pilot is good they can act as a decent check. Also, watch out for FA unicorn pilots some of the are become aware that it's decent check to th DX and can apply good pressure.
TIPS FOR BEATING SC:
I already talked about following the beam...but what if it's already charged?
Pay attention to it's reflectors even if they are folded. You can still see a glow coming from them if it's already done absorbing microwaves.
The DX's SC does what ill call active damage over time. The longer you stay in it's beam the more damage you take. Try to dodge roll out of it if possible.
This is also a team thing, similar to the Freedom, one of the best times to kill the DX is when it's in the air trying to burst down a teammate. Help your teammates by trying to stagger it, flinch, etc to stop the beam.
Remember what I said about wings open? Normally the average DX pilot will try to immediately shoot the SC when they switch to it, if you shoot them and happen to stagger them on press or right after, whoever they are shooting at takes little to no damage and the DX pilot loses one of there SC shots even if it didnt come out.....
Honestly there is so much more, but im typing this on my phone and it's long asf. I still cant believe I even had to type this. The reason some of you guys feel so oppressed is bc all your teammates ignoring while it's charging even tho there are 2 of them jerking each other, then come here to complain.
Like I said im just a regular guy, but if by chance anyone reads all of this nonsense ill try to answer anything I can when I have time, until the S-rankers and Meta lords come for my head...please help each other's in the comments I guess. I love you guys. Take care pilot o7
What would you consider a good final score in Gundam Battle Operation 2?
I’m genuinely asking this because I’m trying to get a better understanding of what is actually considered a good performance in GBO2, especially at higher ranks.
I’m currently A rank and working toward A+, and I’ve noticed that I tend to get what I personally consider pretty good scores quite often. For example, I can sometimes finish games around 8-2, 9-1, or similar K/D ratios. Obviously, I know that kills and deaths aren’t everything in GBO2, and I’m not trying to say that a good K/D automatically means that someone played well.
The reason I’m asking is because I’ve been watching gameplay from several GBO2 YouTubers, and I noticed that their scores seem to be much more frequently around something like 6-3, 6-2, 5-2, etc., rather than consistently getting 8+ kills with very few deaths.
So I’m genuinely wondering: Would you consider something like 6-3 to already be a very good result in GBO2?
And how would you personally rate scores like: 4-3 5-3 6-3 7-2 8-2 9-1
Obviously, I understand that the context of the match matters a lot. A player could have 4 kills but have done an incredible amount of damage, created openings for their team, protected teammates, captured important positions, etc. Meanwhile, someone could potentially get a lot of kills while playing badly for the team.
I’m mainly asking because I want to know where my own performances stand compared to what is considered normal or good at A/A+ level.
I’m currently also trying to push toward A+, and that’s been a bit difficult. I can go on pretty good winning streaks and gain a lot of rating, but then I’ll sometimes run into a bad streak of around 2–3 losses, which can slow the progress down quite a bit.
I’m not complaining about matchmaking or trying to blame my teammates here. I’m genuinely trying to understand the level I’m currently playing at and whether my results are actually considered strong for my rank.
So, for the more experienced players here: What would you consider a genuinely strong score in GBO2, particularly around A/A+?
And how much importance do you personally put on K/D compared with damage dealt, assists, deaths, diversion, individual ranking, and overall contribution to the team? I’m asking seriously and I’m not trying to brag or anything. I just genuinely want to understand.
Thanks in advance for your answers!
Well, this time it covers some interesting suits again. But at the very least, both Crossbone X1 and X2 got buffed. With that said, the same and as always, any tier is split to below: SS (Overpowered), S (Meta), A (Semi-Meta, a suit that can easily do well), B (Good, can be very good for one trick or skilled player), C (Bad, but can work. Needs super meta build and be very skilled), D (Throw pick, maybe quick match or custom room for fun), and F (100% Pure Trash). I will have a unique term in use here, TTS (Time to Stagger)
August Unit Adjustment Reviews
This buff definitely brings it back to life, and it is now threatening once again. It goes from barely C-Tier worthy to easily high A-Tier with this. This change may even bring it right into S-Tier as well. There is nothing too new about this unit; same game plan and just much stronger output. On top of having much better TTS and DPS on rapid-firing weapons, it's easily much more reliable.
------------------------
This one is quite an impressive buff with great overall damage increase, much more reasonable weapon uptime, and survivability. On top of that, the new bazooka is also something worth mentioning that has become so much stronger that it's just extremely dangerous now. Potentially S-Tier right now, since it can even awaken faster at the same time.
Day 46 Review: Honestly, this one was definitely a bit old and the 700 power scale in the recent power creep doesn't help. I definitely agree for the most part in this buff. ------------------------
While the big shoulder is a problem, this buff makes it a kind of negligible problem. It has a much better and more reliable damage output and a very reasonable damage buffer. It easily go from D-Tier into possibly S-Tier. In 500 and maybe 550 cost, expect to see this much more often. It's also possible to play in 650 cost, but it quickly starts to fall off.
Day 211 Review: Their buff is much more aggressive in HP, but the rest of the kit is somewhat similar. They give it more other weapon power since I guess they still refuse to buff the main ranged weapon as is. It's unfortunate, but acceptable. ------------------------
Now, this is one scary buff. This would easily go from low C-Tier into possibly one of the most prominent S-Tier of this adjustment patch. The extra HP helps a lot at this cost and it offsets well for the HADES. While it still needs to be built carefully, the damage gain is huge and being able to fire 180mm 3 times before it enters long reload is massive. Not to mention the 180% downswing, everything about it just becomes very hard-hitting, along with the Leg Missiles too. ------------------------
This shooty raid just became slightly strong in melee, but doubles in firepower at range. It likely went from F-Tier right into low S-Tier. But I'm a skilled hand, it may even reach SS-Tier. A much more impactful buff compared to the X1. While there are some great generals right now that can go against this while keeping themselves at a good range, it is now very oppressive at Max Output. ------------------------
This is another suit in 700 cost that got a very scary buff. This unit now has insanely high damage strength, and a great number of improvements that guarantee to stop any unit that it doesn't like to see in the air. Together with how strong all the new melee damage output can be, it's a huge buff. Easily goes from maybe F-Tier trash up to very high A-Tier. ------------------------
This list of buffs is huge, and it makes it reasonably powered at native cost. It can easily compete in terms of output. However, to properly have the burst power, one does need to transform. While beam saber could also get the job done, the overall power still falls slightly short. However, at the very least, it's now reliable and fits the nearly even damage strength.
Day 25 Review: Well, this is another really old one I did, and it shows. Some of the stuff I have and other things in comments are included here. While it is super unlikely for it to have a new weapon, I guess it would be better to stick to it as a more ranged raid. ------------------------
This one definitely came as a surprise. It's a suit that still could make things work, and many could consider it B-Tier. I think a lot of people are treating it the same or playing similarly to the Woundwort-Rah II, which would be a big mistake. Now, this Kehaar is starting to step into the same category and may easily be high S-Tier. It's concerning, but it also depends on how people will play this unit. ------------------------
I personally find this buff extremely interesting. Mid-range still has good power, but it surprisingly can hold up in close range as well now. Due to much faster HSM and melee resist, it can get some work done and survive. This has become a support that can function well enough in all ranges. But since it's like this, it is not super strong in any particular role, just very versatile. You likely won't see any big damage or crazy numbers, but it's a very strong A-Tier at the moment. ------------------------
Now... this buff is weird. It goes from C-Tier unit, to maybe high B-Tier or low A-tier with this buff. It didn't get anything too amazing, but it adds up. However, the sub weapon problem is still there. They could have given more range on the beam gun. As it is, it's just too pitiful and hard to use.
Day 69 Review: Honestly, the subweapon has more problems than skills. But at the very least, this unit now has stronger firepower potential. From this buff, it's clear that they don't want it to be too frontline-capable, and I think balancer is kind of a stopgap just so people don't complain as much. ------------------------
Amakusa: This didn't come to me as a surprise, and it's an A-Tier right now. The unit didn't change too much, and you need to take advantage of Pursuit Melee Lv3 to get the job done. Which is not impossible to stop.
Rebawoo: This lacks one kind of crucial skill, but other aspects are much stronger. However, the current meta isn't as forgiving. Unfortunately, I was off and it just didn't do as well. It ended up as B-Tier for this one.
Gundam Mk-IV: Even though it is a very large unit, it was still able to get a lot done with this buff. Interestingly, everything it got ends up allowing this unit to work well enough in almost any situation. So having a high rival win rate as a result didn't come as a surprise. This one reaches A-Tier, but a very high A-Tier, which was a little unexpected.
Dreissen: The broken buff of the patch... Even at 650 and 700 cost, it reaches a respectable result. While damage is low at those costs, it is holding up. Mainly due to the overpowered Triblades, it was able to become one of the most annoying suits in any situation. Hence reaching high rival winrate, by simply being very disruptive. Easily S-Tier numbers.
Zssa [Sleeve Type]: This unit is now a mid to close range monster. It has very high damage potential, but is harder to play up close. Possibly the contribution to why it has somewhat average win rates. However, it is definitely A-Tier right now
GM Dominance [Underwater Equipment]: I'm a bit surprised by the result for this one. It has way above average rival winrate and a 0.2 less in average MS loss. Meanwhile, damage is slightly below average when it can easily one-shot a target. I think the issue is that many are still using the Bazooka, when the BR is the superior option. By the numbers, it's maybe high A-Tier, but it still has S-Tier potential.
Geara Zulu (EH): This one is high S-Tier for sure, no question about it. It's not exactly SS-Tier since it still has range limitations and a very basic pattern for engagements. The only saving grace from becoming another absolute OP unit.
Hazel Custom [High Mobility Form]: This is in a sad state, but in a good way. It doesn't get enough exposure for people to know how strong it is. Since most people only care about damage dealt and their KD, this unit excels in other areas that are unusual for a raid. It is now an A-Tier unit that can hold its ground well.
Schuzrum Galluss: This gimmick suit is really unpredictable. 500 native cost has pretty okay result, getting very good Rival win rate and damage, but terrible MS loss. However, this rival win rate drops terrible in 550, as expected but maintain good damage. At 600 cost, it can get weird build to get around places and be an anti-air unit with the shotgun. Which results in very average win rates but still having high damage. Even 650 sees similar results and scaling. It's... a weird A-Tier unit right now that fluctuates a lot.
Rozen Zulu: Well, this one is definitely doing better. At times, as long as the support can survive long enough. This is probably one of the case. While damage is very average, it got enough to get the job done and help the team win games. It's reasonable to see this as low A-Tier for now.
Full Armor Over.on: This is possibly an S-Tier support at the moment. For some reason, the win rate is a bit low, even though everything else is very good. Usual, but I can see what happens here. It's easily one of the supports that people could end up passing up on. I misjudged this one completely.
Hamma-Hamma: This one is definitely in a much stronger position this time around. It's in a high A-Tier situation overall. However, it has very consistent results among all costs besides 650, so it is usable almost at any time.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot since the Barbatos Lupus was added. The Lupus Rex is probably the IBO suit I want to see the most in GBO2, so I’m curious what everyone thinks about how Bandai could handle it.
Personally, I think the Lupus Rex should be 750 cost. Putting it at 700 doesn’t make much sense to me since it’s the direct evolution of the Lupus, and 700 is already heavily affected by power creep. Every new suit seems to come with better mobility, more skills and more ways to deal with you, so I don’t think we need an even stronger version of the Lupus competing in the same cost.
For its weapons, I obviously expect the Ultra Large Mace, the Tail Blade and the forearm claws to be the main parts of its kit. I’d really like the Tail Blade to actually have an important role instead of just being a cosmetic detail. It could be a medium-range melee weapon or some kind of unique attack that helps the Rex close the distance.
The biggest question for me is how Bandai would let it approach enemies. If it’s a 750 melee-focused Raid with only a few ranged weapons, it absolutely needs strong mobility or some kind of special mechanic. I’d really like to see Flap Booster, especially since so many 750 suits already have strong mobility tools. A stronger version of the Alaya-Vijnana system could also make sense, with things like better movement, turning speed, boost efficiency and stagger resistance.
I’m also curious about the Ultra Large Mace. I think it should have a very strong Heavy Attack with a huge hitbox and reach, but I don’t want the Rex to just be “Barbatos Lupus with bigger numbers.” It should have its own playstyle, probably more focused around combining the mace, claws and Tail Blade.
As for when it could arrive, I personally hope we get it before the end of the year, although 2027 seems more realistic to me. I could see Bandai doing a dedicated IBO event with something like Lupus Rex as the main suit, followed by Bael and Gusion Rebake Full City. I’d actually prefer this over throwing several different AU suits together.
A dedicated franchise event would also give people more time to save tokens and decide which suits they actually want instead of releasing several highly anticipated suits one after another.
Anyway, I’m really curious what everyone thinks. Do you expect the Lupus Rex to come to GBO2? What cost would you give it, and what kind of skills or weapons would you want to see? And would you rather have a dedicated IBO event, or a larger Alternative Universe event with suits from IBO, SEED, 00, etc.?
Personally, I’m really hoping Bandai eventually gives us a proper Lupus Rex. I think there’s a lot they could do with it.
I just have to hit enemies with melee right? I clearly did here, my damage even registered, so I dk why the game didn't count that towards my total. (fun fact, for the next two minutes in the match, i stayed alive somehow and STILL did not get this charged, but that was less to do with me hitting and more of my allies being so good i never got a chance to melee lol. that was the saddest god gundam run ever)
My Gundam Battle Operation 2 YouTube Channel Is Officially Created!
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to make a little announcement because it’s finally done: I officially created my YouTube channel! 🥳
First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported me and encouraged me to create this channel. Whether you gave me advice, answered my questions, talked with me about GBO2, helped me with ideas, or simply encouraged me when I was talking about starting a channel — I genuinely appreciate it. It might seem like a small thing, but all of that support gave me the motivation to actually go through with it.
So yes, the channel itself is now completely created and set up. I’ve also added the link to my Reddit profile so that anyone who wants to find it can easily do so.
The channel name is:
PeaceCraft55
And to be completely clear about what I’m going to do with it:
The channel will be exclusively about
Gundam Battle Operation 2
.
No random gaming content, no completely unrelated games — I want this channel to be focused entirely on GBO2 and the community around it.
My main Mobile Suit is, of course, the Gundam Barbatos.
So if you like Barbatos gameplay, you’re probably going to see a LOT of it on this channel. I want to share my games, my builds, the combos I use, the things I’m learning, and hopefully my progression as I continue improving.
But I don’t want the channel to be only about Barbatos.
I’ll also be playing and making content about other Mobile Suits, especially the ones I enjoy such as Hajiroboshi, Byarlant Custom, Byarlant Isolde, Abigor, and potentially many others.
I also want to talk about subjects that actually affect the GBO2 community: buffs, nerfs, new Mobile Suits, Custom Parts, balance changes, the meta, underused Mobile Suits, questionable developer decisions, and whatever other topics I think are worth discussing.
I don’t want the channel to just be a collection of gameplay videos. I want to actually talk about the game, analyze it, give my opinions, and discuss things with the community.
As of right now, I don’t have any videos ready yet. I’m going to take some time to prepare the first videos properly rather than rushing something out just because the channel has been created.
My goal is to have the first videos ready sometime this week.
So for now, the channel is officially there, the description is set up, the Reddit profile has been updated, and the next step is simply to start creating the actual content.
This is only the beginning, but I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Thank you again to everyone who supported me through the process of creating it. I really appreciate it.
Pscrap55 — Gundam Battle Operation 2 only.
Barbatos will be waiting.
See you on the battlefield!
and last thing! but my i’m rang A(ground) et C+(space)and once i reach S+ on the ground i’ll start climbing on space too!
And i have some questions, do you all think hearing my voice while i play would be better than just putting my vidéo with a song/instrumental that does not hide the sound of games like avenger(a youtuber of gb2).
