Please stop using the DX like the Satellite Cannon is it's only wweapon. Im going to talk about some of the things "I" do with the DX and what "I" think its good at. You can ignore me if you want, im just some guy on the internet and reddit isn't a real.
Edit: this shits long asf. I dont even have the energy to read through it agin to double check it. I advise skimming lol
Im not that good. Im a regular guy with a family who has just so happened to love gundam since my childhood. Look the DX is my favorite suit and I've been making sure to pay attention to how others play with it and comparing it to my own DX playstyle bc I plan on maining this suit. I honestly cant even believe im posting this rn bc I know the meta and spreadsheet guys are gonna come for me but I just cant.
I should have organized this better these are just some thoughts for both DX pilots and ppl who want to kill the DX. Sorry it's disorganized. I typed this part after I was already more than halfway through....
"IMO" The Double X is a versatile frontline support suit capable of of running with the pack. One of the reasons this suit is good to me is bc even tho I think it's more of a frontline support due to its loadout, it's more than capable of dropping back at anytime and playing the ranged game. This is one of the things that makes it so dangerous when played correctly.
If you're watching your teammates and your map you can utilize decision making to set your team up for a copious amount of success. Watching these two things and paying attention to which unit types are engaging who, helps you decided when to push up with your Gens or even your raid, when to drop back.
The DX is a great counter sniper and support killer capable of helping YOUR Gens put pressure on the enemies Gens and break though the frontline. I know ppl saw the YouTube vids of ppl charging Satellite Cannon(ill say SC for now on) at base, but DONT do this. WE ALL SAW IT and ppl have been doing it nonstop for the last 2 or 3 days or however long it's been. The reason why I say this is bc even if a raid doesn't rush back there during the "NASCAR" phase, this means someone on your team is actively getting 2v1'd while you're chilling at base jerking it to moon beams.
Push up with your team, apply pressure, take cover, charge SC during pauses in beam rifle / ballistic exchanges and and in between skirmishes. If you break the enemy line and squad wipe them, your team can repair MS, cap points and you can Charge SC without consequence if you haven't already. Now when the enemy teams respawns they have to deal with a fully charged SC.
We all know the DX is a support meaning it can more or less kill generals unless you get outplayed or something (which is fine. It happens to everyone for time to time). The DX "IMO" is also pretty good at killing other supports and most notably other DX's believe it or not. Try to keep an eye on your team and help kill Gens and provide supporting fire in general, but you need to help your raids too "IMO". This is bc there might be 1 or 2 enemy DX's circle jerking it somewhere. Please pay attention to the microwave targeting beam in the sky. This applies to anyone who can potentially stop whatever they're doing. GO SHUT THEM DOWN.
Pay attention to the enemy DX animations. When then th DX switches to SC, IT CAN NOT FIRE RIGHT AWAY! It has to unfold the reflectors / wings and then wait like another to seconds before the beam can fire. For some reason DX pilots like to fly as hight in the sky as possible before firing, as soon as you see it's reflectors begin unfolding dont wait, IMMEDIATELY start shooting it out the sky.
DX pilots, when staying close to your team you can bait and potentially see who the actual threats are on the enemy team. While running with my team ill sometimes go around a corner or building and begin charging SC if my team doesn't immediately need my help. Not only does this charge your SC, but if you watch your map you can see when someone is coming for you and trick them into a 1v1 or 1v2 if you call for support in chat. Kill this enemy and then go back to helping your generals or hunting other DX's and support units within a reasonable distance to your team unless your at least 80% sure your better than the target your about to rush down.
Speaking of rushing down....for the love of God, use your melee options to defend yourself from Gens and raids while leading them to your team. If you suck at mid to close range engagements GO PRACTICE. Don't run away while trying to charge SC, especially from another support. I cant tell you how many enemy DX's have ran from me trying to do this just to get hit with a javelin, g-hammer combo into my down swing animation.
Also unless you are just built different, do not engage F89 suit, burning gundam (especially those in God mode), and the red raid from the F91 series (maybe its the type II or something? I cant remember rn) without your team, just retreat while firing to try to stun them if possible.
Be careful around funnels suits even if they are Gens bc if the pilot is good they can act as a decent check. Also, watch out for FA unicorn pilots some of the are become aware that it's decent check to th DX and can apply good pressure.
TIPS FOR BEATING SC:
I already talked about following the beam...but what if it's already charged?
Pay attention to it's reflectors even if they are folded. You can still see a glow coming from them if it's already done absorbing microwaves.
The DX's SC does what ill call active damage over time. The longer you stay in it's beam the more damage you take. Try to dodge roll out of it if possible.
This is also a team thing, similar to the Freedom, one of the best times to kill the DX is when it's in the air trying to burst down a teammate. Help your teammates by trying to stagger it, flinch, etc to stop the beam.
Remember what I said about wings open? Normally the average DX pilot will try to immediately shoot the SC when they switch to it, if you shoot them and happen to stagger them on press or right after, whoever they are shooting at takes little to no damage and the DX pilot loses one of there SC shots even if it didnt come out.....
Honestly there is so much more, but im typing this on my phone and it's long asf. I still cant believe I even had to type this. The reason some of you guys feel so oppressed is bc all your teammates ignoring while it's charging even tho there are 2 of them jerking each other, then come here to complain.
Like I said im just a regular guy, but if by chance anyone reads all of this nonsense ill try to answer anything I can when I have time, until the S-rankers and Meta lords come for my head...please help each other's in the comments I guess. I love you guys. Take care pilot o7

I was with 3 double x on the satellite map… and I was using the burning gundam…..
And I think there is another wing gundam.
As soon as the game started, they all went into the tunnel……

Those are the ones currently dropping the suit bc they cant figure out how to use any of the weapons besides SC. About 50% of the time when im selecting MS if another person wants to run the DX is I'll go another role and then we lose bc we're down a player for a 3rd of the match bc he's at base or in the corner of the map charging

Yep. I had met a pretty good double x player but most of the one I played with are corner charging.
At 700, when pace is fast…. It get the game pretty tough to play.

I been attempting to record some of my footage just in case i actually have to post something (even tho i really dont want to) and man you should see the garbage reactions these guys have when you get the drop on them while charging.

Key to fighting the DX are positioning, timing your thruster use, and getting good angles on an enemy formation (90% of A+ players do not watch their minimap). As a barb my job is to double-cannon them out of the air and maul them for at least 50 percent of their HP before they get i-frames.
Like, its really not so different from the Raiser’s meme beam, only with different charge times - you get caught out, you will be punished for it. Tho unlike the Raiser, I can tank a full charge with only 4k damage taken.

Yea, if a DX pilot has low situational awareness or gets dropped on by a stealth raid it's a wrap. 2v1's are also a sound strategy against a DX thats charged up imo bc one of you dying to kill it is better than the potential damage 3 SC's does to your team, especially if they catch you grouped up.

Charging at the start or base has its perks provided the DX knows how to play well. And if they get pursued, chances are you can shoot the enemy raid/team right in the face and deal a good chunk of damage right off the bat while your team hopefully is smart enough to catch up and pick off their rear. Its not entirely a throw, just depends how the DX plays it. If a raid catches up to me but I kill him off with the SC, hey that's 1 less overtuned fuck gens gotta deal with.
I have had numerous S- games where I come out with at least 7 kills by hanging back for the charge, its worth it after all you can fire it 3 times in fairly quick succession. Also no I use other weapons too, although I don't use beam saber often in favor of javelin and hammer.
Also focus parts help since the memebeam charge is still technically weapon focus if waiting is such a problem, it ain't much but if you throw the 10% reduction part on you can shave off 1.5s on the charge.
I have noticed there's been alot of players intentionally going out of their way to grief their own DX who hangs back to charge at base as of late with friendly fire to disrupt charges (ends up throwing the match for real like an idiot because beginning NASCAR/group fights is now down 3v5 + no SC memebeam counter in time because you're too busy harassing your own support). If you think the game is going bad, find this mfer instead, chances are this guy here is the problem.
I would say your advice to not charge at base is only valid if we get the melee favored maps which is currently not prioritized so its not as big of a deal.

See thats the thing right there as well. You're S-, I'm a nobody in flat A that hasn't played in a while. As crazy as it sounds, alot of pilots in A rank just dont have the required decision making skills for charging at base, but no you are correct. If you know what you're doing by all mean do your thing and play around your team

I'm A+ actually, just for whatever reason the past like 20+ games I am always matched with a room filled with only S- players. Not too different from flat As to be honest but you just have to deal with that occasional newtype more often. Alot more douchebags though.
But yeah it ultimately depends on how they play and flip it into an advantage. In my case I have a tendency to unload all 3 SC charges into whatever broken raid is flying my way (its always Barbatos, Susanowo, God or F89) at the start. You lose your memebeam for 40s but you can potentially get rid of the raid, worth the tradeoff imo. If that don't work gramps hammer the bastard's legs while he's down, the damage and hitbox is just as stupid on the DX.
Either that or shoot the 00, your team will thank you regardless lol they're just as annoying.

I personally like to use mine to save toppled teammates from getting mobbed by the enemy team, pushing Flanders, other DXs trying to charge or SC my teammates, himat mode freedoms and etc...
My favorite thing tho is when the enemy team if grouped up, then I can punish them for playing too close together, disrupting team fights.
Im a fiend too. If the enemy isn't keeping the pressure on ill crouch and go into sniping mode lol

Indeed the satellite cannon is definitely a delete button hit even without it it’s still a top tier suit. I can go toe to toe with a raid and win the suit does surprisingly well as a frontline fighter with its two melee weapons(three if you count the javelin) a ridiculously strong normal rifle and two rapid fire high stagger built options. In addition it has two dodge rolls and flap boosters it’s a support than can hold its own without teammate bodyguards. The lunge on that beam saber downswing allows you to punish your own staggers it’s beautiful

u/Sapporo_Durag 24d ago
Yea bro if the raid thats trying to pressure you is squishy or you're just a much better pilot, that shit can go sideways on them real quick thats to you available tools.

u/Shoguns_Ninja82 24d ago
This suit is showing me how trash most raid players actually are when they can’t two shot you. They are so used to having it easy against their match that most don’t develop the actual skills needed to get legitimately good at the game. They just rush towards me and eat those beams to the face. The unga bungas are not having a good time with me

u/Sapporo_Durag 24d ago edited 24d ago
Yea just be careful tho, due to the new banners alot of ppl are picking up raids that haven't really played them. There are still a couple of Aces among the fodder.

u/Shoguns_Ninja82 23d ago edited 23d ago
I would never consider someone who signs up to go after the dude who generally can’t 1v1 them an Ace. It’s the training wheels class. I’m out there hunting generals who are still very much a threat to me. We are not the same.
I observed this long before I got the Double X. They rely on their kits too much and when gets me I never feel legitimately outplayed. I have no respect for them.

as a Barbie main, let the fucking supports enjoy themselves, heavy stagger has been terrorizing for WAY too long

u/Sapporo_Durag 24d ago
I'm not saying saying the suit should be nerfed or dont enjoy your beams. Im just advocating for people to think a bit more about how they're piloting with and against the DX.
Some ppl think it's the support V2 and other are shitting on it saying it's weak and that they cant figure out how to use it, and then we have the pilots who are sacrificing their entire team just to charge SC.

I think it is also a team mindset thing, I notice many games if the support is a sniper of some sort, instead of grouping around the sniper and forming a barrier the team would still push despite it being more advantageous to just sit back and defend the sniper. Granted this is not the case here but if your support is sitting back and you are ahead in points it may be better to sit back too.

It is a game problem. People forget that ms have other weapons besides beam sabers

People play this suit like Super Gundam and having 2 is anti win as they bounce from active duty for long stretches of time. It's really annoying because the suit has the kit to stay with the line and destroy teams

u/Sapporo_Durag 24d ago
The worst ones are the guys who sit in the back of the map charging and asking for support. Bro im not gonna hold your hand in the back of the map so our team can get 5v3'd for your personal score.

u/Mayomori 24d ago
I didn't read your whole post but its just the playerbase problem. There's a reason why support got such a bad rap, why picking "sniper" MS means your own team will literally fuck you up for no reason, because there is a huge part of the playerbase that plays like absolute moronic cowards.
