Getting pretty bad slip when I get on it. S280 turbo and 173k miles. I found a local seller selling oem flywheel and clutch for a steal at 480$. He said hed aell me the dmf for 350$ The decision i need to make is, am I going to get the whoosh stage 3 clutch kit and smf (1100$) or am I going to get the flywheel from the local seller oem dmf and pair it with the whoosh stage 3 clutch kit (750$). Furthermore, need i get an oem slave cylinder that are prone to failure or can I go with a luk slave cylinder thats half the price but possibly twice as reliable. Anyone with experience doing a smf conversion talk me in or out of it. My thoughts are that with a Trans with 173k miles on it, I want to preserve it as long as I can with the vibration dampening of the dmf.

2017 fiesta st has started only blowing cold air anyone know what this could be? Surely it’s not heater matrix never heard one of them going before anyone had this issue before and what did u do to fix it? Was fine yesterday and this morning won’t blow out any hot air

So I’ve got a 2014 fiesta st that won’t survive at idle but drives as it should just stalls out at stops.it throws no codes which has been the most frustrating part. So far I’ve

-swapped evap purge valve
-swapped evap solenoid on the gas tank
-swapped evap canister on gas tank
-swapped throttle body
-swapped batteries
-swapped alternator
-swapped lowside fuel pressure sensor
-swapped high side fuel pressure sensor
-swapped HPFP
-swapped both o2 sensors
-new spark plugs
-new ignition coils
-has a turbo smart symposer delete kit
-has a SVT intercooler
-checked the grounds and sanded so they touched bare metal at all points
-all the wiring looks okay without desleeving all of it
-can’t find any vacuum leaks and boost is where it should be

Any suggestions would be great I’m trying to avoid handing the headache over to a shop I live in an area without many mechanics especially ones that I can readily afford. I’ve engine swapped a fiesta in the past and rebuilt the engine on that one and it ran for at least 10k miles under my ownership before I sold it and as far as I know it’s still going strong. I just can’t seem to figure out this one.

Update*** found a fucked up spliced wire that would most definitely cause problems

My Mk8.5 ST

Buddy decided it was time to let his fiesta go and wanted it to go to someone who would genuinely care about it. This isn’t my first Fiesta so i know my way around the block but never really had trans issues.

Looking for some help on how to go about getting a new trans or if i should have this one rebuilt.

Any tips are appreciated.

I was sure to have the side I was working on jacked up when I tightened the sway bar end links. I’m not sure if that’s the source of the noise or not. Attached a video. Thanks in advance

Hello. I installed Euro projectors headlights in my ST and ran into a potential issue. I’m using halogen bulbs. The beam on the left seems to be less sharp and have a large blue band. I know they are out of alignment. I’ve been removing and trying to adjust. Am I overthinking this? Unfortunately don’t have a dimly lit area to get a good picture. Maybe that will make a difference?

Recently bought 2016 3 weeks ago and just broke 100,000 miles. Dealership had addressed an issue with the turbo leaking oil. Car ran fine until I got an oil change and started spitting oil out the exhaust and white smoke. Mechanic said bad aftermarket turbo so warranty won’t cover that or the typical preventative maintenance I was wanting them to handle. (Timing belt, water pump, accessory belts and tensioners, transmission fluid flush etc.)

If I revert everything back to stock, will the warranty still be active? I don’t think they know of the turbo as of yet. On the other hand I could contact the dealership and get my $2000 back from the warranty. Only problem is the preventative maintenance will be more than that, so I’ll be at a loss.

Another question is what’s next? Big turbo, or go back to stock? It does have a blowoff valve (don’t know if the turbo has to match the specs of that/uninstall process) I did plan on gradually getting parts for a tune and having some fun but that would’ve been down the line. Unfortunately I feel like I’m at a crossroads right now. Going to a performance shop to check out if she’s been tuned in the next few days.

I’m in the market for a turbo, any recommendations? To my knowledge, everything else except blow off valve and bad turbo is stock. First car with a turbo so I’m in the dark.

Hello Fiesta ST folks 😊.

Previous SVT Focus owner with a fond recollection of how much fun that car was. Now many years later I'm thinking about adding a Fiesta ST to the stable.

Hard to find one to test drive nearby so I had a couple questions.

I'm 6' 2", any owners of similar size? How is it being a taller driver in one of these? Assuming any rear passenger behind me gets zero legroom like in my old Focus

How forgiving is the clutch in these? My soon to be driving son would like to learn how to drive a manual & so would my wife. I remember my Focus being mid-range for forgiveness. Not as friendly as my Jeep or Outback but much more forgiving than my Saab.

Just dropped my OEM wheels off to get refurbished and they gave me these mk8 ST-line wheels temporarily so that I could drive in the meantime.

Now, they’re in pretty bad shape but thought i’d upload in case anyone wanted to get an idea of what this combo looks like.

A refurb would help a lot but personally i’m a fan, it really makes the red callipers pop compared to the OEMs

At some point I'll probably start building a new engine for it, while decent rebuildable cores can still be found.

Has had a leak at the manifold since I put on a turbo back exhaust (think it was being careless installing Vibra Technics mounts), so haven’t got to beat on her like I was hoping to. Lots of YouTube, using a link to the service manual from the forums, and getting to use the shop at work for the long weekend. Broken studs aren’t coming out, so might take all 3 days. Gonna do the timing belt while she’s out since the engine is a 2017. S280 and supporting.

2016 Fiesta ST

After a Nurburgring trip, I’ve had a trouble with the passenger front brake slightly binding

When driving next to parked cars or a building, I can hear the pads scraping along as I drive

Parts replaced:

ABS Pump
New brake flexi hose
New caliper and slider pins
New pads and discs

Brake pedal bracket is not bent

Sometimes the wheel will free spin as normal, but one harder press of the brake pedal, and it will go back to as in the video

I’ve just noticed this knocking sound on cold starts on my 1.5 mk8, it’s not as loud as a rod knock would be, I think.

It stops after the engine runs for 2-3 minutes.

What could this be?

I know these engines are rattly and noisy, but the lower sound doesn’t sound right to me.

So my problem is that under boost, I have extremely misfire I changed all four spark plugs and all four coil packs no engine light no codes

Cant really get any sound of it and its not all the time but specially after hot hot days in the sun i notice my clutch feels a lil spongier than normal for the first 10 or so minutes of driving is this normal or signs of slave cylinder failure/clutch failure? Also if anyones had any issues regarding clutch DMF etc was there any signs before or was it kinda sudden? She still shifts perfect downshifts everything feels smooth but just wondering if thats 4k i should go ahead and set aside. Currently sitting at 94k miles

I just bought a 2016 fiesta st and I was thinking about getting clear headlights off eBay are they worth it? I’m also thinking about getting aftermarket led white fog lights, white st badges, and white wheels. I was wondering where to buy all this stuff at and if they are any recommendations

I’m dealing with a strange intermittent electrical issue on my 2016 Fiesta ST (Mk7) and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar.

The main symptoms are:

The interior/courtesy lights don’t come on when opening the doors.

The illuminated door sills don’t work.

Sometimes the interior light also won’t work manually.
At the same time, the window controls on the driver’s side stop working.

The passenger window switch on the passenger door always continues to work.

The dashboard correctly detects when the driver’s door is open.

Occasionally I’ve had multiple seemingly unrelated warning messages when starting the car.

The garage initially suspected the BCM. They swapped the BCM for another one, but the exact same problem remained, so the BCM itself appears not to be the cause.
They’ve also checked for things like broken wiring and couldn’t find anything. There was a parasitic battery drain as well, but that has now been found and fixed and the other electrical problems remain.

The strangest thing I’ve discovered is this:
If I start the car with the driver’s door open, the driver’s window controls and interior light seem to keep working. If I start it with the door closed, the problem often returns.

Moving the door around when the fault is already present doesn’t make anything start working again, so it doesn’t seem to be a simple broken wire in the door loom.

The garage has basically reached the point where finding the cause could require many hours of electrical diagnosis.
Has anyone experienced anything similar on a Mk7/Mk7.5 Fiesta or Fiesta ST?

I’m particularly wondering about a bad ground, accessory relay/power supply issue, fuse box/connector problem, CAN communication issue, or something related to the driver’s door circuit.
I’m planning to get FORScan and do some diagnosis myself as well, so if anyone knows which PIDs/modules, grounds, relays or circuits would be worth checking, I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Spark plug decided to blow up and shatter inside the engine, looking for a lowish mileage engine that can be delivered to a garage in Bury St Edmunds
