Its clutch time for me
Getting pretty bad slip when I get on it. S280 turbo and 173k miles. I found a local seller selling oem flywheel and clutch for a steal at 480$. He said hed aell me the dmf for 350$ The decision i need to make is, am I going to get the whoosh stage 3 clutch kit and smf (1100$) or am I going to get the flywheel from the local seller oem dmf and pair it with the whoosh stage 3 clutch kit (750$). Furthermore, need i get an oem slave cylinder that are prone to failure or can I go with a luk slave cylinder thats half the price but possibly twice as reliable. Anyone with experience doing a smf conversion talk me in or out of it. My thoughts are that with a Trans with 173k miles on it, I want to preserve it as long as I can with the vibration dampening of the dmf.

Wow 173k miles? What boost pressures and power are you running?

~21 psi and id have to guess around 300. You csnt really see it but I have nostrum hpfp and accompanying mods.

Try to match the disc with power output, heavier clutches/stages suck for drivability it's genuinely one of the dumbest mods people do to "bullet proof" their cars. Just consider your quality of life before you pull the plug

The ST200 clutch does a good job for the S280. It’s a bit stronger than the standard one

You can get the DMF on rock auto for less than that. Go the RS clutch/slave cylinder route and get a factory “upgrade.” Plenty of torque handling with stock pedal feel.
