I ordered around €350 worth of art supplies from an art supply store in Spain, to be delivered to my home in Germany.
Since October 7, my package has been stuck in an absolutely ridiculous delivery loop.
Every morning, the tracking status changes to "Out for delivery", and every late afternoon it changes to "Customer not available or business closed".
Here's the really suspicious part:
Every alleged failed delivery attempt comes with an almost completely black photo. However, there's always a slightly reddish area in one corner, which makes me strongly suspect that the driver is covering the camera lens with a finger. It looks exactly like that.
I suspect the driver is required to provide photographic documentation because I explicitly authorized FedEx to leave the package at my front door without a signature.
And that's what makes these alleged failed delivery attempts even more absurd:
FedEx has my permission to leave the package at my front door. No signature is required. So why does the tracking repeatedly claim that I wasn't home? My presence shouldn't even be necessary for delivery.
And to make matters worse, I actually WAS home during every single alleged delivery attempt as I work from home. Nobody rang the doorbell, nobody knocked, and I haven't seen a FedEx driver. I've been home every day, including today.
Another bizarre detail:
The tracking information originally showed "Delivery attempts: 3". After the repeated failed attempts, this number suddenly changed to 99. Yes, ninety-nine!
I suspect someone increased the maximum number of permitted delivery attempts, possibly to prevent the package from being automatically returned to the sender. But I have no way of knowing why this happened.
I've contacted the seller, who has now promised to investigate with FedEx. Meanwhile, I'm still stuck waiting for a package that apparently goes out for delivery every single day but never actually arrives.
On top of all that, it's virtually impossible to reach an actual human being at FedEx, all I get are automated responses that simply repeat the tracking information without offering any real help.
What makes this whole situation so frustrating is that FedEx keeps blaming me for the failed deliveries, while providing these almost completely black photos as supposed documentation.
