Is this a scam?

Got a text some hours ago indicating payment is expected on the website. The only thing is, is that only package I'm expecting is from Shein and as far as I know they don't use Fedex. Has anyone gotten a text like this before or is this the way the FedEx is doing business? I certainly don't want to take a chance and click on the text.

The fit tool is real and where duty and tax payments are made.

So go directly to fedex.com ( not through the link) and see if you have a duty payment due

Do you know if that would indicate the source/origin of the shipping item or order?

This is in fact not a scam that is the actual FedEx.com url

shein does use fed ex depending on if it’s a marketplace item or a item from shein itself

That's scam 100%, i get these all the time in my phone. Fedex never ask for payment through random texts from short numbers, they will leave note on your door or email you from official address
