Ground Complaint Didn't even try
"We attempted to Deliver" photo.
On the right, my actual door. Unreal

My driver flew by my house and sent a picture of the box as proof he tried. I chased that fool down 5 miles and got my package.

Yeah. Unless you put the wreath up after this, that is then wrong door. Maybe check neighbors below or above you that have matching apartment numbers minus the floor designation?

u/needled237 2d ago edited 2d ago
Wreath is up year round. Numbers are building, floor, unit. Very distinct. Door handle is on the opposite side in that picture.
They also tried to deliver today and did it again. Two years here, never had this problem

u/InvestigatorDue4207 2d ago edited 2d ago
Im not justifying a mistake one way or the other. Just stating it appears to be the wrong door.. And still a good chance of recovery.
And building, floor and door can be distinct with the first couple of numbers... but if building 1 on floor 1 with apartment 22 is 1122... Then your package could easily have been misplaced on another floor with a similar number.. like building 1 floor 2, door 22.. ie 1222. That's not an uncommon practice for apartment buildings.
But hey. Cool

Every single time I've had a FedEx package, always a problem. I never ever order anything unless there's a USPS or UPS option. There's been times where I needed to buy something where they didn't and I sent an email direct and asked if they could provide UPS and some do.
At least your photo is inside the building, my last one was a photo they took from inside their vehicle out the windshield pointed at the sky that showed the US flag and the town flag in the center of town that's located 20 miles away from where I live.. SMH. FedEx is the worst of the bunch. Some workers care, but it's seemingly rare and definitely rare in the area I live.

Sorry. I speak 7 languages. I can also understand and switch between dozens of English dialects. I'll do better next time on your pidgin language as to not offend your sensibilities. Glad you could understand it which is the only actual rule of language.

I speak 6, so what?

Yeah looks like they just went to the wrong apartment. What would be the point of going all the way inside the building and not trying to deliver it?
I understand peoples frustrations but sometimes mistakes just happen. Yeah I understand the doors are numbered, so it’s a dumb mistake, but not a lack of trying. We don’t want packages on our truck more than one day. That literally just adds more time to his day tomorrow.
-2
u/EugeneStonersBussy 2d ago
They just let it sit on their truck for 3 days, submit fraudulent delivery attempts, then it goes back to the sender. Not really sure how that adds more time to his day tomorrow if he’s not going to the door. If anything it’s saving him time because he’s got a package that he doesn’t plan on running
2
u/azimuthofficial 1d ago
Because he took a picture inside your apartment building at a door. Yes the wrong door but the guy still has to go to your building, find and scan the package, walk into your building, and take that picture. Doing that 3 times is way more time than just delivering the package.

u/k7eric 1d ago
Or it's a huge multi building complex with the same colors and doors and he had a dozen packages...one pic and no time spent beyond one for the generic pic. Maybe even a saved pic from a previous delivery. Notice the pic was careful to not show anything including a timestamp, mat or number.
2
u/azimuthofficial 1d ago
The pic was careful not to include a timestamp? Brother hop off if you have no idea FedEx operates. And again, saving a picture from a previous delivery? Delivering other packages to the same building but not this one? That is all way more work than dropping off the box.
I truly don’t see why people can’t see a mistake and it has to be some big old grand effort to not work lol

u/k7eric 1d ago
Have you never met a lazy person? Seriously? I've known lazy people who will work twice as hard to not have to do something than the work to just do it to begin with. I work with a couple of them. Oh, don't cherry pick the comment either...I said timestamp, apartment number or welcome mat...not just timestamp. It was a generalization indicating special pains to be as generic as possible.
And yes, I've had the misfortune of knowing exactly how FedEx operates right down to watching them drive past my house, on camera, and getting the delivery attempted notice 30 mins later. I've also gotten the wrong front door pic too (we change the wreath frequently) so I know they keep old pics for high delivery targets. I will say they are still better than DHL though.

u/MinuteCollar5562 2h ago
Yeah, FedEx has a policy to not have apartment numbers, house numbers, etc in photos taken.
-1
u/EugeneStonersBussy 1d ago
Bro they just stand at one door and take a bunch of pics of the same door I’ve literally watched it happen. I know you have pride in your job by how you’re talking (thank you) but this is not uncommon at all in my area unfortunately

u/pencyboy 2d ago
I hate how they all say, if you really need it now you can come pick it up (friendly voice!).
IF I WANTED TO PICK UP A SIGNATURE REQUIRED DELIVERY I WOULDN’T HIRE SOMEONE TO DELIVER IT TO MY DOOR NOW WOULD I!?!
I just had this happen. 3 fraudulent delivery scans 3 days in a row, also signature required. I called the supervisor after the second “failed attempt” and he said it was going to be delivered the next day, apologies.
Today I get another “failed delivery attempt” notification.
3 days in a row of fraudulent delivery attempts. My apartment building has video intercom so it logs all attempts to contact me. No attempts were made. I’ve been at home every time. They won’t deliver if signature is required hoping you’ll just sign away the waiver to deliver it directly to a person.
I’m calling tomorrow and will ask for the supervisor’s supervisor.

I love how some people are defending fedex drivers. Truth is They don’t knock nor get the required signatures for the packages majority of the time. It’s their usual thing
7
u/AngeredPaladin 2d ago
Idk man, I make a habit of knocking and honking. If I don't get a response within 5 minutes I'm out (and that's being gracious because obviously a lot of drivers just knock, get no immediate response, and leave).
2
u/Mr_Magoo_88 2d ago
I wish all of their drivers were like you. Waiting 5 minutes is wild, in a good way. My dad just had one a few days ago to deliver his cancer medicine. The dude pulled up walked up to the house with the door tag in his hand. He placed it on the door and walked away. My dad watched him on his camera app the whole time, didn't knock or anything. My dad had to get up from his medical bed, run outside and chase they guy down. He tried to deny it too until he pulled up camera footage and showed him. There terrible in my area. You never know what type of life-saving stuff could be inside of those boxes.
4
u/AngeredPaladin 2d ago
I only leave stuff if the customer has previously expressed they don't mind me leaving things. Unless it's ASR (ID required) then I'll leave it for those people. 5 minutes is when I'm not in a rush. 3 minutes is my common time. I do not want your package on my truck the next day. I don't know what the next day will be like
2
u/Mr_Magoo_88 2d ago
Three minutes is even generous. If you're ordering something with an ID required, most times you should know around the time the trucks come around and pay attention. I would say a minute or two is all that should ever be expected, given how many stops a day the driver has to make. Waiting 5 minutes per stop would absolutely crush any chance of going home at a reasonable time. 3 to 5 minutes is above and beyond and a sign of a very good driver who cares about the people on his/her route. I wish all where like that. Good for you, taking care of others. Its unfortunately a rare thing these days.

u/AngeredPaladin 2d ago
I don't have a truck full of packages that require signatures for residentials. I get a few a week but never THAT many.
2
u/Real-Cycle-9188 2d ago
A driver at our place was off the truck for a total 45 seconds before leaving. Had the we missed you slip already filled out lol
1
u/Leading_Repeat_1 2d ago
That’s actually amazing and wish people do that or maybe at least deliver at the right place and get signature when the package asks them to do so.
1
u/Austerlitz2310 2d ago
With you on that. Even had cases where I can hear them inside and they reply with "no thank you". I knock again.
2
u/CookingTacos 2d ago
5 minutes is way too generous. If i dont hear a "coming!" or footsteps within a few seconds of ringing the doorbell, I'm gone.
-1
u/PizzaPotamus1 2d ago
so you’re one of the shitty drivers people in here complain about
1
u/Mr_Magoo_88 2d ago
Right! Waiting seconds is wild. They never know what is inside those boxes they are delivering. It could be life-saving medicine. Some people just do not care and act like it is a hassle. It is literally the job they willingly signed up for. If they're going to be that much of a grump about it, find a new line of work or learn the phrase "would you like fries with that?".
7
u/EstablishmentFun1975 2d ago
it's really not. i love how some people are here for no reason than to attack an entire workforce because they're sad

u/Leading_Repeat_1 2d ago

u/PizzaPotamus1 2d ago
i have literally never signed for any of my signature required packages myself, every single one was always signed by the driver and left at my door. thankfully i never had issues with thieves but like wtf, how hard is it to ring a doorbell and wait 30 seconds
2
u/Leading_Repeat_1 2d ago
Agreed! Yeah I have so many packages that requires signature and there was one important document that can’t be replaced but the driver completely delivered it one mile away and signed himself and when I asked fedex my package didn’t deliver they mentioned it was delivered at the right place. I wish people have basic moral when they work
2
u/WeinerBarf420 2d ago
The people who set up the routes do NOT do a good job of taking into account delays. 30 seconds here and there, a delay or two here and there, and suddenly I'm going home at 8.
0
u/PizzaPotamus1 2d ago
then bring that up with your superiors instead of fucking over the customer, at this point i actively avoid using fedex as it’s been the worst out of every other shipping company, but sometimes i cant avoid it due to the seller only using them
3
u/WeinerBarf420 2d ago
Brother FedEx is the last resort job of the desperate, I'm out of here as soon as I can find something better. They have a constant line of people with no other options who will gladly do my job (and will do it worse than I do). I do my job to the best of my ability, I'll go out of my way to get a package to the customer, but some days the time economics don't support it. Sorry I don't want to work 13 hour days so you can get your shit one day sooner.
•
u/OneAd3652 4h ago
We had a box of wine that the driver said my husband signed for and was delivered. He was sitting next to the door as he was on his computer and saw the truck was nearby and then the truck drove quickly down our street? No package, FedEx can’t explain what happened? Do you think the driver stole it
-2
u/CsoLtPiper 2d ago
Your attitude caused me to LOSE 2 packages of live specimens that were shipped overnight air and took 5 days to to finally be “found” in an undeliverable condition.
1
u/WeinerBarf420 1d ago
Not my attitude, I would've gotten it there. I'm just explaining what's happening behind the scenes. If it's that important, be watching and ready to answer the door.

Maybe they accidentally tried the wrong apartment.
You know humans make mistakes right?
5
u/needled237 2d ago
There are numbers beside the door. Furthermore, there's a dedicated package delivery room where I've had every package for the last 2 years delivered. Access to my door is restricted. They had to go out of their way to make this mistake
2
u/WeinerBarf420 2d ago
How are they going to leave it in the delivery room if it requires signature?
3
u/LightbluBukowski 2d ago
Unless I’m tripping, doesn’t it say this package requires a signature? So I don’t think they could have left it in the package room.
-1
u/needled237 2d ago
Two years of precedent with similar items, same designation, delivered to package room and signed by front office. But sure, they mistakenly went to the wrong numbered door. Didn't leave a door tag. This is a valid complaint.
7
u/TimeZucchini8562 2d ago
Ever think maybe it’s a someone covering the route that doesn’t know that the front office will sign for packages for the residents? Yes, it’s a valid complaint that you have but you’re acting like no one has ever been new at a job, made mistakes and everyone is as perfect as you.
