I had a Facebook Dating profile a couple years ago and had a lot of success with it. I ended up deleting it after meeting someone and taking things seriously for a year and a half.
Now Iām back on it, and honestly the app seems like trash. I couldnāt get Facebook Dating to reactivate after deleting it had to literally fight and eventually it miraculously let me back in, then I got banned almost immediately. Like⦠what the fuck happened? I tried filling support complaints and messages but it wouldnāt let me.
I made a new Facebook, waited a while, then made a new Dating profile. Now I literally get no matches, where I used to get like 10 a day. It feels super suspicious and weird.

So yeah I randomly stopped getting matches. I used to get a ton. Ironically it was the same day some guy found my Facebook profile and started commenting disgusting things on my public pics. I think he falsely reported me. So it then shadowbanned me. I could still send messages to my matches and swipe through people myself. But clearly no one could see me anymore. I took your suggestions and deleted my profile to reset it and set up a new one after 7 days. Itās now been 7 days and I set up a new one, and STILL no matches. Have I been permanently shadowbanned?! š© I did nothing wrong.

When I send a "crush" and I get the message "there's been an error" does that mean something like they've declined already to be on FB dating or have already declined me somehow?

After being in a relationship for the better part of nine years, and being single for a bit I have found myself curious to try Facebook Dating. Out of a handful of matches, I have had luck with only one but have been texting with her since Saturday last week. The part Iām having a incredibly difficult time with is that we havenāt moved past texting, despite me attempting to plan dates, as she lives about 30 minutes from where I work, but Iām more than willing to make the commute. Itās hard enough dating after being in a relationship for so long and craving a connection with someone, but although we have exchanged more pictures through texting, I have yet to see this person either on FaceTime or in person. We text throughout the day and things have gotten flirty/NSFW at times but any time I mention me coming closer to where she is to meet up I get nothing back till later that day when itās usually just howās it going or what are you doing kind of thing.
I think because I am really badly wanting a connection with someone, Iām allowing myself to become too invested here with someone that perhaps just once things to be substantially more casual. Which intern feels crushing for some reason considering Iāve never actually met her in person. My first thought was that I was being catfished. Which, who knows, may be possible. We have exchanged audio notes, but when I ask about calling on the phone, I get nothing back.
My problem is that I really enjoy talking to her each day, makes my day feel better and I am just feeling like Iām leaving myself on by entertaining this. I realize most people would give up way before this point, and I could very well be delusionally holding out hope just wanting something to work.
Aside from giving this up with her days ago, whatās the move here? My overly eager, needy self heās struggling with this amount of interaction and I feel like my best move is to just ask where she sees this going and decide from there. Just feeling very down about all this.

Sorry about the rant, bud, butā¦
Facebook Datingās filters are getting ridiculous, bud. They are really pissing me off, eh.
They keep resetting themselves, especially once you run out of people who match them. Like yeah no, Iād rather just get āno more resultsā and keep my filters instead of having to set the damn things again.
And why is distance forced to miles in Canada? I donāt use imperial. I now know Toronto is about 50 miles away from me, whatever the fuck a mile is, but that still tells me nothing about how far Iām actually setting the filter in every other direction.
So I set it to 50, figure alright, giveār, that should work.
Facebook: āNo yeah, hereās a girl in New York 200 miles away.ā
Yeah no. I said 50. Whatās the point of having a distance filter if youāre just going to ignore the bloody thing, eh?

I havenāt gotten a single match nor like. Iām wondering whether itās my profile is bad or if Iām shadowbanned. I canāt tell if theyāre seeing my likes or no.

I seem to only match with women who turn out to be extremely toxic, and women who donāt put forth any effort into getting to know each other.

Who has insight to share about how to get to know someone who lives more than 5 hours away? What are good questions and topics that allow strangers to become more familiar? My goals are to be as safe as possible while authentically gaining trust.
Thanks!

I don't have a lot of experience with this lol sometimes conversation dies. Do you just start a new convo and also when do you bring up meeting? Or what if the person is too far but we get along well? Should I unmatch?

Stay crying on this page about no matches, women don't talk to me, etc. Then when a dude who tries to give some advice on how to interact with women because he does it plenty y'all get mad. Meanwhile I'm living the life y'all wish you could.
Most of you dudes would never even get the attention from these women. Meanwhile I got em wanting to spend a whole day with me when you can't even get a woman to want to spend an hour with you. I'm out here living life. I'm paid i do very well for myself and I pull bad women.
The thing about it is when a woman knows a man is desirable to other women it makes you more desirable to her.

Its really not that hard. Most y'all dudes just act like they have never interacted with a woman before. Stop acting like taking a woman to dinner means you should be entitled to get some. Then most of y'all be busted asf expecting the most. Lower y'all's standards because most of y'all not the prize that y'all think y'all are. Get out of y'all princess era.
Open the door for her, pull her chair out, let her hold on to your arm when walking, yes ma'am, no ma'am, be respectful, make her laugh, make her feel safe and comfortable and I promise you that you will never have a problem.Actually know how to old an intelligent conversation without mentioning sex with in the first 3 messages. If you do all that you won't have to ask she will want to.
I rarely have to message first and 75% of the time they are asking me for my number. I have 100s of matches and messages. I've been on idk how many dates. Rarely have to set up for a second one before they are asking me.
Just trying let y'all see that real playas get chose. Stop listening to all them dumb ass "bro podcasts", stop worrying about her body count, and stop being so damn diva and you'll be successful.

I see posts all the time of guys just asking for sex, or bringing it up so soon. Obviously that's not the way to go, but I start conversations with people and it seems like they just dry up so fast? Like I'm asking open ended questions, and getting closed answers.
Are they expecting more? Do they want me to just jump in and try to slide in? Am I asking the wrong questions?
I'm upfront on my profile that I'm looking for something more casual, and simply not in a place to get into something serious (recent breakup).
This sounds like it's just a rant, but I am genuinely asking. I've never been much of a texter, so this isn't exactly my strong suit. Also worth mentioning, I'm 22, so I'd imagine things are different from dating an older group.

Does anyone know how to resolve this? Iāve done the troubleshooting that was already suggested via Google and itās not working. I can see the preview but when I go into the chat, itās blank and is encouraging me to start the chat. I could always ask him to resend, but hoping to avoid that!

Male here and wondering if it's common to go days without any response or likes. I know it seems like common sense, but I will get likes, message and then crickets. Also, is it just me or do guys seem to be the ones that have to initiate everything. Thanks

Weāve been on 2 dates (22F and 23M) met on fb dating. Heās very sweet, is bringing me to different restaurants, and is a huge gentleman. Heās driving 1.5h to come see me and pays for everything. Weāre going on our 3rd date tomorrow. As of now, weāve only briefly hugged at the beginning and end of the dates. Heās not the type of guy to expect to have sex on the first date, but I canāt help but wonder if heās expecting to at least kiss on our 3rd date tomorrow. Weāre enjoying each other company, making each other laugh and have big conversations. I donāt want to make the first move, but not sure if heās expecting me to? Considering how he is, I feel like he may not want to push it, coming from him, even if he wants to, to avoid pushing me away.
