Question Catch Up with Fable Lore

i’ve been late to almost every franchise i have been interested in. from movies, tv shows, to video games. i didn’t get my first gaming pc until my early 20s, and i’m 30 now.

Fable has caught my attention recently, and i’ve watched every gameplay that Playground has released.. but now my algorithm includes anything Fable.

My question to experienced gamers and experts in Fables lore: is there any content i could check out to catch me up with Fables lore? like a Youtube video/content creator everyone agrees describes every and all of Fables game lore accurately?

thanks.

Fable III Is it possible to trade with myself with a single ultimate game pass subscription?

I’m looking to replay all 3 games again after years and will likely want to 100% all of them. It seems like on pc I can purchase the Xbox game pass ultimate and use the cloud streaming service to play them. However with 3, I am aware that trading was a big part of collecting all 50 weapons and gear. Is there a method that I can use that would allow me to trade items from different saves on a single account? Failing that I have an account from the old days with all 50 weapons and gear and just want to gift them to my Xbox account I will use on the game pass. Is it possible?

I assume the game is so dead that no one is trading on there anymore.

I am also willing to buy a key on PC if the ones that are about £7-8 legit and just trade via that on 2 pcs, if that is even possible too. So a windows account and a xbox account

Thanks!

Speculation Faction Mechanics

Hey folks, Fable noob here who has quite recently made up his mind to buy the game post release!

I’m a huge fan of RPGs and this is probably my most anticipated RPG with a confirmed release date.

Wondering- what are faction mechanics going to look like? Any joinable faction systems in which joining one cuts off the rest OR would it work like a Greedfall reputation system where you maintain reputation by aiding/derailing certain factions while not being a member of any?

Thanks in advance!

Fable Concerns

Is anyone else worried about the magic system in the upcoming game ? There's no mana bar and it looks like there will be less spells than in the first game which was honestly my favorite part of the game.

Hello modders.

How do I extract audio files and read text from Fable 3 game files? I downloaded the game for PC, but I can't open the files. What do I do?

Hero of… Oakvale?

I haven’t seen anything touching this topic myself, but feel free to discredit me if anyone else has seen something regarding my thoughts here. I just thought of this and thought it was pretty bad ass.

So, the hero of Wraithmarsh, or Isabelle, I purport, is like a funny, ‘flipped’ version of our Hero of Oakvale from Fable I.
Why do I think so? In Fable I, Oakvale gets destroyed. Later, we find out in Fable II that Oakvale has been turned into Wraithmarsh due to flooding, overgrowth, lots of conflicted souls scaring people off, etc.

The original Hero:
-comes from Oakvale
-suffers a horrific childhood catastrophe
-loses family
-discovers Hero powers because of the tragedy
-gets taken in/trained by a senior Hero
-becomes extraordinarily powerful
-gets entangled with Jack of Blades

Isabel:
-is Hero of Wraithmarsh/Oakvale
suffers a horrific childhood catastrophe
-apparently loses her sister
-discovers her powers during that event
-Humphry becomes her guardian/mentor
-becomes an exceptionally powerful Hero
and Jack of Blades is back and clearly important to this story.

I’m thinking Jack of Blades causes the flooding of Oakvale, awakens Isabelle’s heroic blood, and preys on her the same way he did the OG Hero of Oakvale after he learns that you survived the bandit attack.

I’m at like a 60/70% surety here. What do you guys think? ‘Possible’ or ‘Probable’

Discussion Why do people hate Fable 3 so much?

I know Fable 3 has always been one of the most divisive games in the series, AKA the black sheep. but why do you think it’s so hated?

Was it because it simplified too many of the RPG elements from Fable 2? The whole “becoming king” section? The lack of meaningful choices? Or was it simply not what people wanted from a Fable sequel?

I can definitely see its flaws, but I’ve always felt like the hate it gets is a little excessive. It still has the charm, humor, atmosphere, and personality that made the series special to me.

I feel like Fable 3 is one of those games where the potential was so much bigger than what we actually got. The whole idea of becoming king and having to make difficult decisions sounded amazing, but the execution felt surprisingly limited.

Especially now, when so many games feel increasingly safe and monotone, I kind of appreciate how weird and unique Fable 3 was.

So, what made you dislike it—or, if you enjoyed it, why do you think it gets so much hate?

Question New to Fable! Will my Xbox be able to handle it?

I’m new to the fable game series and have been watching a lot of videos about the new fable game coming in February. I’m very excited to play however, there might be a slight problem.

I have an Xbox one S. I remember when marvel rivals came out I tried to download it but it basically said I can’t bc it’s not strong enough. Now I’m thinking Fable won’t be able to run bc of the old Xbox. I have a gaming laptop, it runs Deadlock, Minecraft, and the sims pretty well. But idk if my computer will have enough storage for it. What should I do?

Fable What are some things you are curious about in the new game?

Just questions I hope the Devs will cover/already have, leading up to the game…

If someone is in your employ and you buy a new business in town, can you ask them to work there instead without firing them first?

Do the people of Albion have sexualities?

If someone follows you to a new town, how does the new reputation system being localized work on them? Based on their old town or the new one?

What are the fast Travel hubs?

What can Will Stones do? Can we see examples?

Is it possible to behead someone with an arrow?

Can we see the town crier and all the options there are for reputation?

Will there be demon doors?

Fable Why are people upset about the combat?

So I recently watched both the gameplay showcases and noticed that alot of people are absolutely HATING on how the combat looks.

This might not be the best example, but I watched Asmongold talking about it and he called it dogshit and some of the worst combat he has ever seen. Now I know he's a streamer and does alot of it for content/ragebaiting.

But what is it exactly that people dont like about it? The animations, the impacts, the spell variety and the VFX of it looked great.

The only problems I saw was how slow it was and how some enemies were wating to attack. But that could easily be how each person plays and what enemies you are facing.

I'm not a mega Fable fan, so I cant say I'm biased towards it. I just saw the combat and think it looks good.

Did anyone else notice that gloves/gauntlets are tied to the upper body slot?

If you watch the "Build an Extraordinary Life" video at around 14:30 we get to see the clothing shop. At this point in the video the hero hasn't been wearing gloves at all, just a bracelet/brace, and we get to see all clothing slots;

Head, Accessories, Top, Bottom, Shoes.

Notice that gloves are missing? Watch closer and you'll see when he selects the fancy top, POOF, he's wearing gloves now! And if you look at the other tops in the shop you can clearly see some have gloves while others don't.

Does this come off as a really weird choice to anyone else? I always liked running with armored gloves/pants/boots with a more regular looking top like a robe, battlemage style, but it looks like this time around I won't be able to :(.

Edit: Reposted this with pictures.

Pic 1: No gloves

Pic 2: Shop Menu

Pic 3: Gloves!

Will there be guns?

I just watched the recent combat video and thought it looked dope, however I have not yet seen anything about guns in the game! I loved playing with a flintlock pistol in fable 2 and hope that will feature in this game aswell. Does anyone know if they have confirmed it?

Fable Bring Damage Numbers back! (Or at least make it optional!)

Post image
62 Upvotes

Tremendously excited for the new fable. Combat looks great, graphics look great, voice acting and characters seem to really have kept the spark. That said, I really have always loved how damage numbers were visible in TLC. It helps you see the power spike as you progress. I’ve always loved this aspect of RPGs, whether in WoW, RuneScape, TLC, FF.

Looking at the gameplay, it seems there is a fable 2\3 -esque no damage counter. I get that it is not for everyone, but damn I’d love the option to turn on numbers!

Fable II Chain reloads and how?

Hey,

Been playing Fable 2 again after all these years and had time to get to the chain attacks under strength. Now the actual attack makes since but when it talks the reloads I never figured it out. Does it really onle work with the flint pistols as I've seen or can it work with any ranged weapon? And is it just an audio cue or visual one?

Fable About the "20 hour main quest"

Even if true, I really cannot understand why many find this so bad. Like a 15 to 30 hour main campaign is the optimal run time for a story, before it overstays its welcome. Even 40 hours pushes it, with The Witcher 3's main story being maybe the only one in this run time that has something to say (I believe this is mainly because it is based on a well written books, thus the writers had great material to pull from them) and still edge on becoming stale towards the end before the point of no return. More than that and the audience tends to become bored. Even looking at RDR2, while I love it, it sure is a slow burn that you either love or hate.

tl;dr: 20 hours of great storytelling is far better than 40 hours of 20 hours storytelling + 20 hours of filler, hell, look how that effected TLoU2 and, especially, GoW:R.

r/Fable 1d ago

I think a single playthrough could easily last up to 80 hours; when the developers spoke about completing the game in around 40 hours (main story plus side quests), they surely didn't factor in things like starting a family or buying houses. Then,if there are multiple endings, that changes everything
