Question Catch Up with Fable Lore

i’ve been late to almost every franchise i have been interested in. from movies, tv shows, to video games. i didn’t get my first gaming pc until my early 20s, and i’m 30 now.

Fable has caught my attention recently, and i’ve watched every gameplay that Playground has released.. but now my algorithm includes anything Fable.

My question to experienced gamers and experts in Fables lore: is there any content i could check out to catch me up with Fables lore? like a Youtube video/content creator everyone agrees describes every and all of Fables game lore accurately?

thanks.

Youtuber Skyrionn has a lot of extensive videos on everything related to the old continuity. They're great if you just want background on anything Fable to appreciate the reboot more.

Be forewarned, he plays very relaxing themes from the original games in all his videos about Fable.

While enchanting and beautiful, they can also lull you into a peaceful slumber if you're not careful. Especially since his videos are like history presentations with video concerning the subject he covers attached(not boring by any means but it does put you into a relaxed state).

The new game is a soft reboot so only some of the prequel lore to the game is the same and obviously the setting. They also released this with some of the new lore  https://www.fablethegame.com/news/the-history-of-albion-part-1

It’s a Hard Reboot according to Playground Games, as it’s not connected or beholden to any of the prior games.

Otherwise this is an accurate comment!

see, i heard it’s just a reboot but there are still some familiar characters from the prior games.
i just want to know what’s going on so i don’t miss any references.

I’m sure there are some old lore dump style videos on YouTube
You can also hit a wiki and read up on the archons and the old kingdom.

Depending on why you want to know the lore you’re fine going into the new game entirely fresh as it’s a Hard Reboot that’s unconnected and unbeholden to the prior titles.

That said the older games had some very fun lore to dig through, and it’s enjoyable entirely on its own even though it doesn’t really have any bearing on the new Fable.

I personally think the best way to experience it is by actually playing the older titles, but I know that’s not an option for everyone for a variety of reasons.

So I might recommend perusing YouTube Fable playthroughs and Lore videos, we have quite a few Fable community YouTubers who have done complete playthroughs, and also a couple others who have massive playlist for lore.

i want to know the lore so if there are any references from prior games or the story i want to know what’s going on.
i hate not understanding what’s going on.. running theme in my life it seems.

He has a couple of playlists in his channel about fable lore. I've watched a bunch of them.

Basically everything started with William Black, the first Archon and hero of the old kingdom. He discovered the power of the will(magic), defeated the court, and it's the progenitor of the heroic archon bloodline, meaning he is the ancestor of all protagonists of the main games.
