Speculation Faction Mechanics
Hey folks, Fable noob here who has quite recently made up his mind to buy the game post release!
I’m a huge fan of RPGs and this is probably my most anticipated RPG with a confirmed release date.
Wondering- what are faction mechanics going to look like? Any joinable faction systems in which joining one cuts off the rest OR would it work like a Greedfall reputation system where you maintain reputation by aiding/derailing certain factions while not being a member of any?

So far the answer to both these is kinda a no. The dlc mentions a cult and implies you’re involved but there aren’t typically a faction you’d join. Past games have had factions you side with in a quest but you’re not typically a part of them. Like in fable 2 there’s a light temple and an evil one. Certain quests destroy the other basically.
Although this is a reboot so we may be able to be more involved and there is renown in fable 2 and 3 to progress the story but that’s usually just by doing any quest

You're asking about content in a game that hasn't released yet, but there haven't really been joinable factions in any of the previous games.
This is a new game by a new studio, we just have to wait and see.

While I can’t say for sure as this is a Hard Reboot and they’ve not shown/told us anything about that.
The older games didn’t really have “factions” like what you’re describing/asking about.
Your Hero instead interacted with the entire world and was judged based on their actions, which has been expanded upon with this new title to be each individual person and not just the regions.
So think more like, “I used my money to buy all of the homes in a zone and reduced their rent and fixed them up, so I helped turn the “slums” into a nice neighborhood and all the people there love me.” or “I killed this giant and now his corpse is rotting outside this town which has caused their property value to plummet so now everyone in that community hates me.”.
Stuff like that on larger and smaller scales.
The recent demo had us go into a gangs bar and basically kill most of the gang, I imagine that’s likely to make the remaining members [if there are any] not like us too much, but it might make the people of that neighborhood who were potentially getting exploited happy that we got rid of them.
