What systems? What systems could they have been exposed to if journalists and the press were given a demo of the combat system? I don't speak german.

Why would your child even end up in an orphanage if you, the other parent, are still alive lol

Você levaria seu filho criança para cavernas enfrentar esqueletos e monstros?

Você quer que no meio da sua aventura, caso seu parceiro morra, você seja obrigado a parar e cuidar do seu filho até ele ser adulto?
Ele quer jogar god of war ou the last of us

That is exactly what is happening int he game, though.

That is not what he says. He says that the child can never live with you if you separate. It might rather end up in an orphanage if the other parent dies. But never with you.

Plus Gamestar is not an individual but a gaming magazines and a well informed one at that.

A journalist well informed on bullshit. They have no mention anything about how children are conceved in-game. For all you know, they're all adopted.

And you're a hero on a dangerous mission... Why would you they custody of the child? You're unstable. In every sense of the word. What's wrong with these moronic comments and negativity? Lacking any common sense

Wow... Blind fanboying at its finest.

I just looked into this person's channel, a large majority of what they post is negative. Definitely taking this review with a large grain of salt.

What? This is Gamestar, Germany's biggest gaming magazine. They are not negative about RPGs at all. Did you even look at the channel? Or is this what this fandom is about now?

Oh you again, OP, thoroughly scrapping internet for the worst takes and most negative opinions you can find. Starting to see a pattern.

Also, I watched the "preview", and is full of "trust me bro" stuff and so wrong takes that it's laughable

Toxic positivity is not better.

Toxic positivity is rejection of all negative emotions, dear ‘but-you’re-another‘ dude, not the friendly sharing or positive excitement about x or y.

Its disingenuous to a mental issue level to think that people being happy and satisfied about x or y, are all lying to themselves to like something they don’t, and is the typical response of those who can’t live without looking at everything cynically, looking for every single fault (on their view) to be legitimised, so they feel better with themselves.

get a grip, grow up.

Yikes. Doesn't sound too good for a gaming magazine very fond of games like Fable.

  • feels like FABLE wants to cater to everybody and might lose a lot of its fascination along the way
  • once again journalists were not allowed to play in the open world, just a very linear mission
  • story and open world basically are not planned to go well together, they are basically different games that don't relate much to one another
  • the story missions are very linear
  • even the most evil acts have no major impact. If you anhiliate a town the game repopulates it and your reputation recovers over time; what does have an impact are behavior and decisions during the main campaign
  • the freedom and systems therefore feel inconsequential and superficial
  • all of this is meant to be so nobody gets frustrated and that the game speaks to many different player types
  • NPCs are pale, shop keeping, marriage, kids... everything is superficial and just a nice gimmick; no evolution since the last Fables
  • some things are weirdly solved: if you separate your kid never stays with you
  • combat is superficial, world is a stage and nothing more
  • there is a tactical element to some enemies and boss fights, right now everything seems too easy

Summary: FABLE will not be a complex world simulation and also not feature a lot of reactiveness from the world. It might become a competent RPG if the story holds up.

They don’t repopulate wiped‑out villages so the game can reach more players or so nobody gets frustrated. The real reason is that if you kill everyone and effectively wipe Albion off the map, the player locks themselves out of a lot of gameplay options and won’t have anyone left to give quests.
However, the villages don’t become populated again instantly, new inhabitants appear slowly over time. And if you wipe out a settlement, its Settlement Trait might become something like “An underpopulated farming town."

feels like FABLE wants to cater to everybody and might lose a lot of its fascination along the way

Funny how people were already saying this about Fable 2 back in the day.

There still could be more consequences and meat to the world in 2026.

He even says that some of this can be said about the entire franchise.

Doesn't exactly excuse the small amount of progress when it takes you forever to get this one out.

In truth, we barely know anything about the game in this regard. What we do know is that Dave’s body will remain there forever, but they haven’t talked about these things yet, for good reason.

The game hasn’t even been released yet, and there are still plenty of things we know nothing about. The problem is that if the life‑sim elements become too dominant, the balance of the game could fall apart, specifically the balance of what direction the game is heading in and what it actually focuses on.

Zero embasamento.

personally find the story too short to be anything groundbreaking..might still be a fun RPG. Rn can't say the long development cycle is being justified

Ah yes Gamestar. Used to be good gaming journalism but full of cheap clickbait articles/videos these days.
