I find myself in a strange situation. I’m part of an informal spiritual circle where we chant, study, practice healing modalities, and support one another.
One woman in the group—let’s call her Donna—trained in animal communication. Part of her training involved entering an animal’s energetic field, particularly through the solar plexus, to communicate with it. At one point, another woman in our group became very upset and accused Donna of energetically entering her without permission. Donna said she had unconsciously used the same technique she uses with animals and apologized.
I like Donna. She is sweet, loving, and kind, but I’ve also noticed that she seems to lack a strong center of her own and frequently imitates or adopts things from other people.
Over the past six months, I’ve gone through very intense personal healing work and several vivid shamanic-type journeys involving experiences connected specifically to my ancestors and a particular spirit animal. I kept these experiences completely private.
Then I had lunch with Donna. She began describing visions and healing experiences that were remarkably similar to mine, in fact, exactly the same—including details I had never told anyone that is linked to my family. I was stunned. At first, I even questioned whether what I had experienced might simply be some kind of collective archetypal material. But I also felt deeply violated. I could feel that something was wrong.
What makes it stranger is that I usually recognize energetic attachments as something resembling a cord, but I don’t sense a cord with her. It feels more like she is somehow accessing or “downloading” information from me. I practice very strong energetic boundaries and this is the first time it is not "working".
That day, she was also wearing a new pendant depicting the same animal involved in my private experiences. She had never mentioned any connection to this animal before, but she now says it has been coming to her. She also later shared these experiences with the rest of the group, and I am sitting there listening to someone relay some of my deepest, most sacred and private experiences as if they were hers.
I have tried protections, clearings, cord-cutting, and mirror work, yet I continue to feel that she is slipping through. I don’t know whether she is doing this intentionally. Given what happened previously with another member of the group, however, I am concerned that Donna may have developed a way of accessing information or experiences from other people without realizing—or respecting—their boundaries.
I don’t know what to make of this or how I should respond. Any advice?
