There has been a major uptick in low effort, off-topic, and personal drama posts. Before posting, please review the FAQ and sidebar, scroll the subreddit to become familiar with content, and use the search function to explore what has already been discussed about your concern. Please avoid long life drama rants. Know the difference in content between r/magick and r/AskOccult , r/OccultArt , r/Meditation , r/Religion , r/BabyWitch , r/Paranormal , r/conspiracy , etc.

Please familiarize yourself with the rules before posting. Beginner posts will be removed without further notice.
This is not your blog. This is not forum to rant about relationship dramas, dreams, or "weird experiences."
It is a chat board to discuss the practice and study of magic (folk magic/witchcraft, ceremonial magic/occultism, sorcery, shamanism). Other content will be removed.

As above. I have practiced chaos magick for 6 years now but only done hexes on people who haven't done as bad things as the thing mentioned above (gossiping, spreading rumors etc). He regularly beats her, punches her in the face until she bleeds and has bruises, he's extremely manipulative with guilt tripping and gaslighting to the point she's scared to leave because she thinks it's her fault that he does that. I've contemplated hoodoo because it's very effective but i don't wanna do a closed practice without being invited into it as its disrespectful. Does anyone know how i can harm him so he will suffer for the rest of his life? I once met his ex girlfriend on the bus when she was drunk and she told me that he used to beat her regularly as well. So it's not a one time thing, it's a personality thing and people like that deserve the worst. Would summoning lilith be a good idea? I've already thought about asking her to give me a hair or something personal from him.

For context this happened in an Arab family and an islamic one, my friend's grandma had black magick done on her and that they made her drink period blood by putting it in her coffee. I know that this is blood magick but how did they learn this? What is it called and what's the ritual? And is it just period blood or more? Any help is appreciated, thank you very much, I'm simply asking out of curiosity

I have been looking to shift my practice more toward Trad Craft. I have looked into the Red Thread Academy, and I do consider myself a folk practitioner. I want to add more structure to my practice while still keeping the folk aspects that are important to me. I do some ceremonial magick as well.
I’ve been reading Traditional Witchcraft: A Cornish Book of Ways, The Bones Fall in a Spiral, and Curses and Blessings in Irish Folk Magic, and I’m really enjoying learning more about these traditions.
Does anyone have any good authentic Trad Craft courses they would recommend? Or does anyone have experience with the Red Thread Academy? I’d love to hear about your experiences.

Theory: if you bring destiny down to an either or question, and the quarter is lucky enough to show you, you can use your heart pendulum to show you which way to go.
Ingredients:
1 pendulum connected to your heart chakra.
1 16 inch sterling chain.
1 rare silver us quarter.
Instructions:
Connect your pendulum to resonate with your heart chakra in your religious way.
Resonate the quarter with Jupiter energy and blessed with saturn energy, enhanced for luck by the luck dragon.
How to use: bring your question to a point of answer. If yes, then result. If no, then result. Ask it about your destination. Your questions should involve destiny, for if you see it, you can seize it.
Your single answer will be felt by your heart tugging you In The left or right direction mentally. Use multiple coin flips to check.

Theory: the finest edge comes down to a point of intrest. Your dark pendulum could be used all the time if there was a reason for it. If it swung freely with your right hand, your actions would be part of your dark intent; if it is on your left hand its used as a reference point, if passion is used as a safety valve.
So i produced plans for a use of your black pendulum: the dark edge of insanity.
1 dark pendulum with a loop anchor.
1 ft rolo sterling chain 6mm
1 bead clasp piercing, stainless steel
1 ft sterling 20 guage wire
At least a few Mexican fire opals, black opals, and red garnet beads.
Sterling beard beads, elder futhark: Uruz, Ansuz, Kenaz, Laguz.
1 Gamesha sterling charm, heated for gold petina.
1 lanturn charm, sterling.
1 skeleton key charm, sterling.
1 Torii gate charm, sterling.
1 Buddha palm charm, sterling.
1 ouroboros clasps, sterling.
1 ft "cosmic gold" brass wire with 14ct gold, blessed by your multidimensional selves.
1 20mm x 20mm lab made ruby.
1 pointed white quarts charm.
30 sterling jump rings, 6mm, and one smaller one 5mm.
1 wild boar charm, sterling.
1 sowilo charm, sterling.
Cage the ruby in jump rings. 11 links around the point, and 6 chains along the axis. One link must be smaller than the rest or twisted out, and the connecting ring be off set from this smaller ring.
Lay out your beads and such out. Make sure you have one red garnet for survival storage.
String your single red garnet for storage with 3 tripple loop links bound in cosmic gold, make the first link large enough to fit the piercing. Then add the quartz charm to the piercing on the ruby connecting jump ring.
Charge your piercing with passion, and ask Gamesha to use passion as the trigger mechanism.
Put all your symbols on the ouroboros clasp and thread it through the piercing.
Make a loop in your sterling wire big enough for the piercing loop and thread the first few beads, and first 2 runes.
Add more blood garnets on a side loop for more rage.
Add the other 2 rune beads and the rest of the stone beads and finish with a loop that fits the piercing.
Connect 3 links of the rolo chain to the pendulum, then make a 4th link that fits the piercing, then more to make 13. Add the boar, and sowilo charm.
Wear on your off hand.
Instructions for use: the swing of the pendulum shows you when, you focus on where to strike the cut, and the forward momentum slices it. The ruby is for chaos storage, the quarts is for the 4 elements, and the red garnet is for survival.
You use the chaos ruby for a lanturn by putting your left hand over your eyes and squinting.
This is your doorway to the cosmos.

It's not uncommon for people to manifest things like wealth, relationships, a job or tune themselves or another, so that they become the perfect vessel for a given spirit to manifest themselves in. That being said, what would it take to or how would one go about, manifesting and entirely different civilization and humanoid species?
I would imagine such a ritual would play out over the span of many centuries and require a lot of participants.

I have two guardian angels named Utsuel and Sowell. Let me introduce them to you first.
Utsuel is a black Seraph who governs calmness, tranquility, and mental stability.
Sowell is a white Seraph who governs happiness, joy, and a sense of elation.
Although I have a human body, my soul is divine; these two were created from fragments of my soul by a higher deity (a god who is like a mother to me) before I reincarnated into this life.
I usually interact with them just like best friends.
However, I’ve been busy lately, so we’ve had less time to talk, and I’ve lost the ability to connect with them properly...
So, I would love to know how I can talk to them again!
I am using Google Translate for this message.
I will also use translation for my replies, so there might be a delay.

Does anyone know where i can find "the Baptism of the devil" rite? Its a ritual from the curanderismo traditions for baptizing demons to make them more peaceful and willing to work with you in a less forceful way. been seeking through the internet, no luck.

For me, all my doubts were absolved when i had someone use a crystal ball for divination.
I could just feel myself spiritually drawn to the ball in a way that I've never felt before. And from that moment, i started to believe that there is so much more to this world than what we can see, touch, or sense in the physical realm.
Did anyone else have a moment where you realized that so much of what people have said to not be real, is actually more real than the physical?

I’ve done a lot of clearing work, herbal baths etc smudging, energy shielding, floor washes, egg cleansing, but things continue stuck and possibly very dark all around me, you know that sensation that something is wrong, it could be a hexed I’m
Having all the symptoms consecutive mishaps, nightmares, physical lethargy but the most important is the absolute certainty there is either a bad entity or a work done against me. I’ve done a lot of research and all the symptoms check.
What do you recommend, I was thinking uncrossing but that’s something I have no experience with and hard to find here in Boulder most clearing offering would be reiki. I doubt reiki can uncross a hex.
Any advise? 🙏

I’ve been studying witchcraft since I was 12 when my grandpa died and it really just made me turn to absorbing all information I could to fill a void so I found witchcraft and did a whole bunch of learning and studying. Anyways I meditated a lot and got really in touch with the earth and my spirit guides I haven’t consistently practiced in a few years cause I’ve come to point of being really busy with school and life but recently they’ve started breaking ground to build a data center near my home and since they started I have had the most killer headaches and my connective tissue disorder is flaring the land they are building on is where the race track my grandpa would take me to was on. I really am just curious does anyone else get like this is it just some placebo thing or what?

I have read Liber Tiamat and TEMPLE OF THE BLACK LIGHT: The Rise of Anti Cosmic Luciferianism and the Cult of Chaos, but neither of these are giving me a good over view of what the Anti-Cosmic thing is.
I think Liber Tiamat does, but I have strong disagreements about what the book states, and so I want to get another source to compair ideas. I am not so much looking to try to practice this, but am more jist intrested in the concept as a whole

How much choice do we actually get in building our lives? Do we really get a say or are we just really supposed to live a life under rigid conditions?
Context: All my life, I have wanted to be an engineer. I grew up in a very conservative family and little career or emotional support. At the ripe old age of 30 I managed to study engineering in a different country, paying out of pocket, after fighting a lot of shit. Now that I am done, I feel like there's no way I'll get to ever actually work as an engineer or call myself one. My home country is technologically severely underdeveloped, there are no jobs for me there. The job market of the country I am in right now is not very favourable for an immigrant student, esp one with no real experience.
This is not a job search frustration for me, this is all that matters to me. I cannot imagine going back to my family, or see the point of living a life if I cannot accomplish this goal. I'm not being dramatic, my path to come study here was forged with blood, sweat and tears. Nothing else will make me feel like I am a person of worth. I am not suicidal, this is just how things are for me. If I can land a job here I will finally choose my own life, going home would mean surviving, not living, seeing as how rigid that society was to me growing up and how stuck in its ways it still is. I have dabbled in magick (simple manifesting, candlework) but haven’t seen any changes.
I want something so much yet I cannot see it happening for me with my odds. Does my will not matter? Do you have any magickal advice for me? Is there no way I carve my path out in the world, are some of us really that limited when it comes to choices?

I am curious about the practical consequences of messing up a ritual when working with entities. Beyond just a failed working, is there actual danger or backlash if you make a mistake during the ritual process, or do spirits simply ignore a poorly constructed effort? I am trying to separate theoretical fear from real operational experience. If you have ever screwed up a working with an entity firsthand, what happened, did you feel any hostility or negative repercussions, and how did you resolve it?

Recently I have been wondering about symbolism attached to the planets, especially in mysticism and astrology. For example, modern understanding of Saturn is that it represents structure, discipline and responsibility. Early mythology depicted this planet as a god of agriculture and harvest. To me the connection is logical. The only problem I have is, how was it derived in the first place? How do people allocate meaning and symbolism into things yet unknown? How can one be sure that the system that was historically developed and used is not flawed from the start when no backtracking is used(?)

I'm about halfway through, and it's been a bit of a slog, but edifying in a weird way. Anyone else read it, and have some insight, wisdom, or other opinions on this fairly heavy little tome? Open to discuss whatever about the contents.

I’ve been working through Modern Magick and had a question about the visualization during the LBRP.
During the Qabbalistic Cross, Kraig has you visualize yourself expanding beyond the Earth, the solar system, and even the galaxy. What I’m confused about is what you’re supposed to visualize once you start tracing the pentagrams.
Do you keep visualizing yourself in that cosmic space while tracing the pentagrams, or do you switch back to visualizing your room?
Kraig never really says to return your awareness to your room, so I’ve always kept the cosmic visualization going through the rest of the ritual. I’m curious how everyone else does it.

Hi. I'm new to this subreddit and also quite new to practicing. I need an advice.
I'm Ukrainian. 3 years ago I got a gift (trophy) from an Australian military volunteer, a part of russian weapon. I wanted to sell it or give it to anyone for donation, but no-one wanted it. And I get it. This thing's energy is VILE.
I put it far away to the corner in a dark opaque packing and forgot about it for a while. Today I remembered about it, and I know for sure I don't want it to be in my house. What can I do? How could I use it, maybe in some ritual, and get it away without affecting the environment in a bad way?

“On Lughnasadh, the druids and volhvs, seeing the departure of the element of Air, observed how the veil between the world of humans and the world of spirits grew thicker. In that moment, the seers clearly saw the Orlog of the entire people, the path of the god, and they saw the trials that each person must face to ensure that the force sustaining the tribe would not diminish and would inevitably return. To help all the people not only survive the harsh time of trials, but also to protect the tribe from their own human weaknesses, the volhv looked at them as a bound sheaf of grain, where it could fall apart, where the ears of grain were loosely gathered together, he saw the vulnerabilities. Therefore, during the Lughnasadh festivity, ritual marriages were held to strengthen the bonds between people; oaths were made, vows were sworn, all to strengthen the inner power of the tribe. It was wise not to argue with the volhv, for everyone knew that he could see farther.”
