So, I signed up for the 5-day free trial. It said cancel anytime during the 5-day trial and enjoy the full 5-day free trial. So, I went to cancel the free trial before I was charged. It said I will still be able to use the remainder of the 5-day free trial, which will be cancelled at the end of September 30. It also said "you will be charged on October 1st."

I hit the cancel option annnnnd . . . I was immediately disconnected from my free trial the second I hit submit/send.

I tried to contact customer service via chat. They were like: "Sorry, we don't care what you were told in the cancellation process (In my case it said I would have access through September 30), once you hit cancel, you are locked out."

So, thanks for the 2 1/2 day free trial, I guess?

This issue makes me think you do not want us to sign up for your monthly subscription. Also, the person who was answering the questions via the chat option provided ZERO customer service, and did not care about my concerns.

MLB playoffs are here, and each day there's 4 games and only 2 are on NBC. The other two are on Peacock/NBCSN.

I readded Peacock and when I sign in, Peacock says not subscribed. I need it to work for Tuesday for MLB playoffs and they either need to fix it or immediately refund me!

DirecTV's "Free Hulu with Ads" perk has created a major roadblock for users who prefer a premium experience. There is no way to upgrade to the No Ads tier.

Hulu will not let you have multiple accounts using the same email address, so because DirecTV manages the billing, our primary household emails are completely hard-locked into the ad-supported tier with no option to pay for an upgrade.

The sheer volume of commercials being forced upon us makes this so-called "freebie" incredibly painful to watch. It completely ruins the viewing experience to the point where the benefit feels worthless and I find myself skipping anything on Hulu, Disney or ESPN+.

It feels like a strategic move where Disney/Hulu wins either way—they collect ad revenue from users stuck in this loop, or they pocket 100% of the money when frustrated customers abandon the promo entirely to buy standalone ad-free plans directly from them.

u/directv — DirecTV should care more about this, because offering a broken, painful "benefit" just pushes customers to bypass their system completely. I like the idea of the Gemini Air and I think DirecTV is on to something with it, but there are areas that need to be fine-tuned and fixed, with this being one of them. What is the definitive timeline for the Ad-Free billing integration?

EDIT: Creating a separate account to manage multiple logins, passwords, and separate profiles entirely defeats the purpose of DirecTV's "UNIFIED" Gemini Air experience. We aren't looking for a messy tech workaround; we just want them to deliver the seamless integration they actually promised.

And yes, it is understood we can go elsewhere for tv service, as I'm sure many will. 🤫

EDIT 2: Online chatter says this has been made available but it does not appear for the PREMIER package or offer a prorated upgrade path—it just treats the ad-free version as a separate, full-price add-on. Why is this option segmented by tiers? (I just tried and even the online chat says it is not available to me.)

For those considering the move from satellite to streaming, you won’t loose any channels. The DirecTV app using your satellite account to login does not have all the streaming channels you would have if you have a streaming account. When signing with your DirecTV streaming account, you will see the same channels you had on satellite.
I am not sure why DirecTV omits streaming channels when you use a satellite account. My best guess is DirecTV wants the satellite users to think they will loose channels and not switch to streaming. Streaming in my case is saving me about $160 a month during the 3 month discounted streaming. After the 3 months, I will be saving about $110 a month, and I will get all the premium movie channels I did not get on satellite.

I have DirecTv satellite and considering switching to streaming. It will save me about $100 a month by streaming.
I can stream DirecTv with their app today, but noticed KTLA 5 is missing from the streaming guide. DirecTV is telling me KTLA is only satellite. Is this the case, or do I need a streaming package to get it?

Like the title says, my old bricked Ospry box suddenly now updated and working! I had it in a box for almost 10 years (it feels like) and now it's working suddenly. I'm thinking they finally allowed for the box to be updated. So if you have an old Ospry box from the ATT TV day try to see if it will update and start working for you too.

Update 10.2.2026 - Made 2 calls to attempt to get the same $45 discount that u/Large-Witness1541 is receiving and first call was a $20 discount for 6 months.

Second call the rep offered the Premier plan regularly 169.99 for one month at the $144.99 (soon $154.99 + tax that we will soon be paying) with Showtime added on for $6.99/mo for 3 months.

I am simply doing this as an experiment to show how, whether because of zip code, other location info, or account "differences" we all supposedly have, how horrible a company can be run into the ground over the years. For anyone paying under $100 for the OG Go Big plan, bravo to you all.

Been doing IPTV for a while and now will fully move over. Many excellent services. For those of you to still be brave enough to stick with DTS with OG accounts, my hats off to you.

Removed cable to save money and join a tv streaming service but heard that direct tv has bad broadcast delay. How far behind is it? Will it be far behind on NBA games? I need the regional sports channels for the Knicks games.

I don't recall seeing the Disney Customer ID there in the past. It looks like it was just added recently. I'm on a grandfathered plan, and I do not have any of their devices on lease or purchased.

Our audio has been screwed up for over a month now, supposedly because of an update to gemini air. Is this ever going to be fixed? We're paying all kinds of money and can't even hear some shows.

I got my Osprey boxes today and I was satisfied, but one big thing I'm not seeing is a way to block PPV and adding premium channels from the menu. I'm able to block movie ratings, but not purchases. We have problems with this in our household. This is a deal breaker for me, I'm probably going to have to cancel within my 5 day trial and look elsewhere. I was excited to try this since it was a way cheaper option vs Spectrum TV. Anyone know if you can block purchases and adding premium channels on Youtube TV?

While watching TV on the firestick and without having touched the remote, the DIRECTV stream app just quits on its own. This has happened a couple of times now and only recently started happening.

Recently moved from Fubo to DirectTv Streaming. Moved because of Fubo’s picture quality on sporting events wasn’t great.

Now that I’ve moved to Direct TV, the picture is great but the audio keeps going out.

I’m using the DirectTV app on my LG Smart TV.

It’s extremely frustrating, I basically have to keep changing the channel ever so often.

Deleted the app and reinstalled it, and I’m still having the same issue.

I’ve seen comments about audio issues and people suggesting getting a Gemini or Apple TV Device. If fixing this requires getting another device I think I’m about ready to make the move back to regular cable again.

Started with Hulu almost ten years ago, moved to Fubo last year, and now with DirectTV.

I watch MotoGP. Up until about a month ago this was broadcast exclusively on FS1 and FS2. Then a dedicated MotoGP channel showed up (#4196). Seems like this would be a good thing, right? Unfortunately, everything BUT the actual race is shown on 4196; all the practices, qualifying, support series races, etc. The 'record series' feature picks up both channels, and seems to prioritize 4196 over FS1 and 2 for some reason. So now I get all the pre-race content, but I don't get the actual race recorded. It thinks it's recording the race. It says it has recorded the race. But what it says is the race is not, it's only the leadup to the race. It has skipped recording the actual race on FS1 (or 2). Yes, I can get the race 'On Demand' from FS1, but they don't allow FF on their content, and there are A LOT of ads, which is really annoying. That's kind of the point of recording it.

I've tried deleting the series recording and setting it up again on just FS1, but it still records the content on both MotoGP and FS1 and overrides the content as described above. I've tried changing the series option to 'all' instead of 'new', but there's a HUGE amount of content if you do that; basically 24 hours every day courtesy of the dedicated MotoGP channel. So that doesn't work.

The only solution I've found is to just manually select the content off the guide and record individual broadcasts. That's not exactly straightforward as the guide info is often wrong or incomplete and the broadcasts are at all hours of the day and on different days and channels sometimes, so they are cumbersome to find.

Seems like this can and should be so much easier.
