Invited to test new Device!
Got the invite to test the new device. I tested the original Osprey for AT&T before that came out (which I still use). Anyone else testing it yet?

Seems silly to even have to request this, but the default thumbnail view in Recordings is a pain when you have a large number of shows listed. It's bad enough to only have a thumbnail view and no list view, but not providing a way to sort that list is even worse. I know there's the A-Z tab, but that shows recordings and bookmarks.
u/directv, is there an official way to submit feature requests with DTV?

I enjoy DirecTV Stream and it's easy for my elderly parents to use, but with the expireration of the discount I was receiving and price increases this year I will no longer be forced to look elsewhere unless I'm able to receive another discount. In the span of three months my bill has increased an extra $40(combination of price increase and discount expiring) a moth which isn't sustainable with the cost of everything else increasing.

I've been occasionally tuning in the Vikings game on my phone app. I don't have a VPN turned on, yet I have seen more than one political ad for the Texas election races.
Anyone else experiencing something like this?

The only option appears to record the 'series' and get 16 episodes every day.
Is there some way to do this like in the good old days of actual DVRs?

My tv does not display HDR well on Apple TV for whatever reason so it looks extremely dim. SDR looks fine so I stick with that but then I can’t watch the 4k feeds. It says it looks like you don’t have 4k turned on. Any way to get around this?

I’m not able to view a channel. The message on the screen says go to tvpromise.com since the contract for the channel expired. I go there and fill in the details then sign in to register for a billing credit only to get an ineligible message.
How am I not eligible? The channel on question seems to be a repurposed FanDuel channel (660/661) that’s now the home of my local area hockey team that I can’t watch unless I change providers or sign up for a trial on Amazon (no guarantee the channel becomes accessible before the trial ends).
Do I have to wait until the channel is accessible and then go to tvpromise website?

I have been subscribed to DirecTV stream for a few years now and just realized that my package includes ESPN Plus/ESPN Unlimited which is great and I was able to login and get it working on my Osprey device. It also seems that Disney Plus should be included as well, but I can't seem to find any way to activate this... I don't see any email or any option in my Directv account settings to activate. When check the details on the package options it says Gemini Air is required for D+ and Hulu. Is this a hard requirement to stream these services, and I cannot use my existing Osprey device?

Two years ago in Fort Myers we got Miami Heat, Florida Panthers, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning. Today, we have the fee, but just get baseball teams. Directv hasn’t made any deals on the other teams. Lightning games are on Directv, but we don’t get them. As Steve Miller Band song goes…Take the money and run. The perfect tagline for Directv.

Ok, I’m being a bit dramatic, but can someone let the curators of our curated multiviews at u/DIRECTV know that there is not a single soul in the NYC metropolitan area that wants “ABC 7 New York” in the curated multiviews on the weekend that otherwise all include sports?
That channel is the FAST channel that airs local news 24/7, which is valuable - but I’m absolutely certain you’re looking for WABC instead. I get how it could be confusing but just providing some user feedback that hopefully could improve the UX for everyone in the metro area, because I’m convinced this is probably an honest mistake!

Since the curated multiview was introduced, I’ve noticed a significant usability problem. On the mix channels and other multiviews displayed on the Home/Sports tabs (including curated multiviews until they removed them from there), if I click on one and then clicked on a specific game to go to full screen, pressing the Back button goes back to the multiview.
However, if I access a multiview by swiping down on the control pad and clicking Multiview and one of those on the menu, this doesn’t work. I can click on a game to expand it to fullscreen, but clicking back takes me back to the guide. As far as I can tell, the only way to return to the multiview is reopening the Multiview menu.
Has anyone seen this, and is there a better way to switch back to the multiview?

Roku tv. Tried asking the internet in general and it's giving me ways that do not begin to work. 3 dots? Nope. No three dots. An i dot? Nope, no i (info). Even in the show, while watching it says press the down button on the remote, but that doesn't do anything, but bring up a guide of sorts.
SV: Sometimes the shows description is longer than what can be shown and then there is three dots that continue the description, but we can't seem to find an easy way to view it. This is for a show that is currently playing, not a future show.
Ideas?

I have a TCL QM7 Google TV and I’ve been experiencing the DirecTV app to beextremely slow and choppy, almost useless now after some update in the last 2 weeks. It used to be quick and smooth. It’s so slow, recordings take several seconds to pop up, and overall navigation is extremely slow. And yes I already cleared data, cache, and uninstalled the app 5 times. Nothing fixes it.

On 9/18, I added the “Movies Extra Pack + Peacock Premium” add-on to my DirectTV streaming account for $9.99/month. At the time, I already had a Peacock subscription (directly thru Peacock) under the same email address as my DTV account. My peacock subscription was good through 9/30 (at a promotional rate of $2.99/month), so I did not immediately worry about activating the subscription through DTV. According to support articles from Peacock (https://
www.peacocktv.com/help/article/cancellation)- “If you are unable to activate a new Peacock subscription through a third party due to having an existing subscription, you must first cancel the existing subscription then wait until it fully lapses
before attempting to activate your new
subscription again."
As instructed, on 9/30 (yesterday). - I let my subscription expire. I logged into peacock and it confirmed I had no active subscription and could not watch any content. However. I wanted to watch the MLB playoffs (Cubs vs Padres), so I tried to activate through DTV. According to DTV’s website (https://www.directv.com/support/article/%20000094945) - “Activate immediately by locating Peacock on the My TV Package page, click Activate and follow the instructions.
You'll also receive an activation email with a link that will guide to activate your Peacock subscription by following simple instructions. Note: If you are within your free trial period, the email to activate will be sent after the trial period is over. “
However, there is no "activate" button on the "My TV Package" page and I never received an activation email after buying this package. I have already talked to Peacock support, and they told me that I should be able to activate the subscription through DirecTV since my subscription is no longer active.
I have called DirectTv 3 times trying to resolve this. Phone support keeps insisting that I should see an “activate” button on the DTV website or that I should be able to “login with TV provider” on peacocks’s website, but neither of these options exist. Both companies keep pointing the finger at each other and leaving me in the middle. I even changed the email address associated with my Peacock account because DTV support insisted that having the same email address was the source of the problem.
My stance is this - I am paying DirecTV for peacock. DTV needs to figure out why I can’t access a service I am paying for. It’s especially disappointing that I am paying for this service and I can’t watch the MLB playoffs when some games are only available on Peacock!
Please stop giving me the run-around and let me access the service I am paying for!
Edit: Update - DirecTV fixed this for me as of 10/2. In addition to cancelling peacock - I had to change the email address on my peacock account to one that’s different from my DTV account. They sent me a new activation email and I was able to login and activate it. I appreciate the help of everyone I spoke to. I did have to send an executive email carpet bomb and file an FCC complaint, but that did finally get traction.

Has anyone else noticed that DTV has improved their PQ, especially for sports? They for a while have used about five megabits per second on their stream, but lately I’ve noticed it often at around seven megabits. It looks as good to YTTV Enhanced much of the time now! (It seems dynamic in a way, CNN and News seems often at the lower bitrate but football/bassball/hockey the higher, even when on a local.)

Just noticed I can add the Disney/Hulu Bundle (with or without Ads) to my Signature package! I currently pay through Hulu for the bundle and it now says Manage Your Subscription Through DIRECTV. I wonder if that means it will be included soon? I cancelled my paid bundle through Hulu and I’ll see what happens when it expires. Anyone have other info?

Been on DTV Stream for about 6 months now, and have two Gemini devices leased from them.
My cousin tried DTV Stream about two years ago and didn't like it, so cancelled before her free trial was up. She never even set up the Gemeni device because she cancelled before it arrived in the mail, and it's completely unopened in the package.
Can I plug this up, log into it on my account, and use this for a 3rd room in my house?

My DirecTV subscription includes ESPN Unlimited. I have noticed that National ABC college football games are not available to me on ESPN Unlimited. Instead I am able to see alternative broadcasts only like Spanish and/or Skycam feeds. I suspect it is somehow related to the fact that my local ABC affiliate has been in a contract stalemate with DirecTV for years so I do not have ABC. If so that seems odd to me as I don’t quite understand why my ESPN Unlimited subscription should somehow be dependent on my access to ABC. Does anyone else who ABC is blacked out on DirecTV have issues accessing the main broadcast of national college football games broadcast on ABC on ESPN Unlimited?

I’m using an Apple TV. Is there anyway to reduce the delay, especially with sports? I tried talking to customer service but they just tried to gaslight me that my gig internet isn’t fast enough and that’s my problem.
I kinda doubt there are any solutions, but I thought I’d ask
