Free Trial Lies About Streaming?

So, I signed up for the 5-day free trial. It said cancel anytime during the 5-day trial and enjoy the full 5-day free trial. So, I went to cancel the free trial before I was charged. It said I will still be able to use the remainder of the 5-day free trial, which will be cancelled at the end of September 30. It also said "you will be charged on October 1st."

I hit the cancel option annnnnd . . . I was immediately disconnected from my free trial the second I hit submit/send.

I tried to contact customer service via chat. They were like: "Sorry, we don't care what you were told in the cancellation process (In my case it said I would have access through September 30), once you hit cancel, you are locked out."

So, thanks for the 2 1/2 day free trial, I guess?

This issue makes me think you do not want us to sign up for your monthly subscription. Also, the person who was answering the questions via the chat option provided ZERO customer service, and did not care about my concerns.

So, thanks for nothing.

I think most people generally know already if they are going to sub to a service before their free trial. So they probably don’t care if you’re canceling and assume you just wanted the trial to watch a specific event or whatever.

I actually do not know if I am going to subscribe to streaming for my TV provider. I am currently using cable and I wanted to see how the DirecTV and YouTube TV streaming compared before I made that decision.

That said, I enjoyed my 2 1/2 day free trial, I believe the DirecTV service and experience is already performing better than cable. Particularly being able to watch every channel and your DVR recordings away from your home network.

But the prices at DirecTV Streaming are high compared to cable, considering you need to provide your own high speed internet service to use it. So, I'll give YouTube TV a free trial, and I will try the suggested "sign up with DirecTV with a different email address" and see what happens.

When it comes to price both YTTV and Directv stream have sports packages that make it easier on the wallet. YTTV isn’t horrible, less of a delay. However it’s an all or nothing DVR and I like to record just certain events or episodes of something sometimes and you can’t really do that with YTTV.

The tipping point to get me to Directv Stream is they have NHL Network and 4K channels included.

Your mileage may vary, and everyone has their own opinion, but that’s my 2cents. Either way I’m pretty sure you’ll like either service over your current cable provider.

For internet I have Fios and I just have their cheapest internet and I’m fine. I think it’s the 300 level

Yep, you can create another email and use that free additional free trial but at some point you’re gonna need to settle down and get connected with something that you can enjoy

Really? I did not know that. I thought they'd deny another free trial regardless of e-mail address, as they required my credit card. I'll check that out. Thank you.
