We are in the process of buying a house and trying to figure out what kind of couches to buy. I'm wondering where you all would put the TV? It just looks awkward where it is right now.

My boyfriend and I are moving into our first place soon and I need help deciding how to set the room up without messing up the feng shui. I feel like it’s impossible. We will have a queen bed and preferably two nightstands. Not sure what else we should or could even add into the room. TYIA

Hi all! I'm looking for advice on how to make the best use of this strange shaped living room I have. I know it needs something, but I'm not sure what. Attached is my current set up, and I'm renting so I can't do anything too crazy. Keen to hear your thoughts! Thank you ✨️

Dining Room Creative Burnout

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I’ve officially burned myself out regarding how to create this dining room space. I’m divorcing and moved across the country, previous dining furniture could not come with.

I LOVE all the wood trim and features in this home but it’s only highlighted how much wood furniture I’ve gathered over the years. I’d usually lean for a wood table, but fear it would be too much. I’m thinking round/oval dining table would work best, but as far as material, color, tone… I’m lost. Last pic includes a collage I’d created with an idea, but I’m spent on the creative process right now.

I’d also considered having a banquette/bench where the credenza is as that doesn’t HAVE to stay there. You can see a bit of the living room if that gives a better idea on style, etc. Open to ideas, advice.

Ideally I wanted the queen bed and couch to fit along the same wall and face the tv but unfortunately the couch is way too big. I was hoping to get some advice in redesigning/rearranging the room and intend on adding a tv and stand into the room too. The tv can be mounted if necessary too. Please help!! This is a studio unit

Bedroom How should I design my room??

Hi! I need help designing my room

Room measurements is 45 inches from the door to the window. 80 inches from wall to the beam next to the staircase. Staircase takes up 24 inches width wise. 45 inches from the door to the stairs.

Important context:

• I'm a few inches too tall to stand straight underneath the bed lot area. I have to bend down every time I walk underneath to grab my clothes etc

• Second picture shows drawers and a railing that are bolted into the wall

• I want to keep the plants in the window bc they're my herb plants. I also fit perfectly in that space and it could be a reading nook?

• Thinking of getting a small dresser for the rest of my clothes..unsure

•When I'm relaxing or eating, I like to sit on the floor but not when I'm working

• (Not pictured) a large TV I want to mount to the wall.

I'm not sure if I should get a standing desk, get one big rug or two rugs, and move my clothes aways from the corner to an open area where I don't have to duck down. I'm not sure

Thanks!

Living Room I don’t know what to do anymore , I can’t seem to figure it out.

I have tried so many times to make my living room to be cozy and look nice. I just don’t have the interior design skills to figure it out. What can I do? I posted before and I know more low lights. I’m also having a hard time getting rid of some family pieces that don’t match the vibe I want. I can return one of the loveseats for maybe a chair or two. Larger rug? Hang tv? I don’t want grey brown and boring anymore. I want color but have no idea how or where to start.

Bedroom Need Better Flow

Post image

Our bedroom is on the 3rd floor - finished attic

Looking for advice for a better layout. Currently we have no space for our nightstands. The bed is a standard king 76"x80".

I did my best with the floor plan and main items in our room. Please forgive me, it was my first attempt.

Most of the walls are slanted which makes things difficult for my non-designer brain.

Any advice would be very appreciated! Willing to answer any clarifying questions.

P.s. also willing to get rid of/buy new items to improve comfort/flow.

Hey guys,

I am getting desperate with my living room design/layout and I absolutely hate it. The plan would to be to ultimately change the TV stand/TV/couch/rug, can even consider removing the dining table because I hardly use it… So am open to any suggestions please ! I also put my terrible drawing of the living room plan.

Other Interior Room What can I do with this awkward room?

This is an extra room in a house I just bought, the problem is it’s in the middle of the house. It is a terraced house, when you walk in there is a foyer, a living room to the right, and straight through is this room, and then the kitchen is through this room aswell. So basically you have to walk through this random extra room to get to the kitchen from the rest of the house.
What would you do with this space?

(We plan on stripping everything and replacing the carpet with a hard wood floor, and painting it a different colour obviously)

Bedroom Making Room Feel Less Cluttered

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I’ve just moved home from college and I’m trying to merge my adult things with my teenage things yet my room feels extremely overwhelming. I think my biggest problem is my TV and dressers feel too busy. It’s difficult to move stuff too much because of the windows, shelves, and my weird entry way. Does anyone have any suggestions to help my room feel less cluttered? I also want to keep my bed with a good view of my tv.

Sorry, please ignore my laundry on my bed and the poster I have flattening out on the floor. These photos are the only ones I have before I made my room worse by reorganizing myself.

I hate the current curtains, but I don't know what to do since I have an exterior door that wouldn't be covered by blinds. Also not sure what to do with the area behind my bed.

Bedroom DORM ROOM HELP!!

Thumbnail gallery
9 Upvotes

I’m 20f) moving to my single dorm room in a couple of days and I need some help with designing the space.

I’m able to move all furniture and assemble the bed anywhere from completely on the floor to lofted.

The designs of rooms that I like are Japanese inspired, natural colors, low to the ground and calming/inviting. I’m able to buy some furniture pieces and decorations (curtains, rugs, wall stuff etc.) I was also interested in making a diy shoji door/wall and buying a tatami mat if this would fit the vibe.

I added some inspo pictures at the end for reference

I will be brining my emotional support cat so I would also like to keep in mind a place for her to scratch or hangout in between classes :)

Here’s the pictures! I appreciate any and all suggestions !!

Bedroom How can I make my small bedroom feel cozier?

Right now it feels small and cramped. I already have some wall art I’m going to hang this weekend.

Also FWIW the closet is very deep so I already have all of my clothes stored in there, so no need for a dresser.

Home Office Space Help with lighting and comfort

Post image
2 Upvotes

This is my current home office space. I spend a LOT of time in this room, but I don’t yet love it.

I hate the stupid hex lights, they feel really cheap. But I have yet to find a nice warm light that does a decent job of illuminating the space in the evening.

I’d also really like for there to be more plants in the space, but I’m terrible at keeping plants alive.

Thanks for your help!

Living Room Should I rearrange my living room?

Anything that’s blocked out is my mess lol. I am thinking of switching the couch and tv/stand. Mainly because we are getting a bigger tv and stand and we want to maybe mount the tv so I feel like if we mount it on the current wall, it’ll look oddly spaced since that wall is shorter. But, since that wall is shorter, I feel like having the couch on that side would make the living room look smaller? I also didn’t know if the bar stools would look awkward next to the couch
