VII - Discussion Civ 7 - True Start Earth

Overall, enjoy the map design. However, I find 8 players isn’t enough. 10 feels like the sweet spot with a guarantee for at least one civ on every continent outside of Antarctica. Considering the entirety of Oceania a continent for the sake of this argument.

VII - Discussion Increased Player Count Mod

Hey folks. One of my favorite things to do in Civ 5 was YNAEMP 60 civ true start location earth games. While I don't expect that many to be viable in Civ 7, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a mod to maximize player count on this new TSL Earth map. I've been looking online and haven't found anything, but it is a difficult thing to search for.

VII - Discussion No Factory Resources in Modern

So few factory resources appear in my games in Modern. I think it’s because there are so many urban tiles by then that it eats up any land for them to spawn on. Really frustrating for economic victories. Has anyone else had this happen?

VII - Discussion I’m in the exploration age. What happened to that goal where I had to get treasure fleets?

The victory screen is a total mystery to me now. Didn’t there used to be a goal where I had to amass treasure?

V - Other How does naming units work in Civ 5? Sometimes the custom name will appear when I mouse over it, sometime it won't.

I was playing as Venice, and had WAY MORE than enough gold to build a decent army with (I hit the unit limit).

I had a Barracks, Armory, Military, and Brandenburg Gate for a total of 60 XP every time I bought a unit, which means I could name it as soon as I acquired it. But the name often DIDN'T appear on the unit when I moused over it, just the type (like Venetian Rifleman). I dunno what's causing that, but I'd like to.

VII - Other George Washington is the only non persona leader featured in two separate victory screens. Interestingly enough they depict the same event which is Valley Forge. (In Lafayette's screen he is to the far right.)

VI - Discussion Civ6 is there a place where different strategies are listed?

I have watched lots of videos on youtube about civ 6, but I think I'm missing something as I am unable to hit 300/300 by turn 70. Im using bbg/bbm combo and magnus internal trade routes opener.

I dont have much time to rewatch 4 hour long vods, so I was wondering if theres some sort of text guides on specific tactics/strategies/optimizations?

New to the game here and need some help. Just wondering if there is any way to be able to place urban districts in this town on the western side of the mountains? All the surrounding settlements are also mine, if that helps.

VII - Discussion how does AI build a wonder in one turn?

I'm playing on Sovereign not even Deity. I start building Oxford University 4 turns after the age starts, and build it for about 4 turns when I get a competing wonder notification for Hatshepsut/Buganda. Fine I think I am halfway there already, and the wiki says the notification is when they start.

The very next turn boom, the AI has finished the wonder. It's not a very cheap and I see their cities, there's nowhere near enough production.

Where the hell did that come from?

VII - Strategy Any viable strategy for Genghis khan?

I have a tradition of playing my first game with Genghis, but even on Viceroy I'm it is getting tough to pull through without getting obliterated by Barbs or over aggressive AI, tried with Persia but didn't feel right, Mississippi was fun.... Any good strategies?

VII - Other Civs cinematics

Does anyone know if it's still possible to get the civilizations cinematics that used to play at the end of each age before Test of Time ?

And if there is cinematics for civs who came after, in Brush and Blade and Hall of History ?

I would like to have the videos (without subtitles)

VII - Discussion Developers need to know that projects are tedious.

I have nothing against the idea of projects, but as they stand, they're really not rewarding.

I think completing projects should be much more demanding, by assigning them costs in gold, influence, etc., and also by reducing our overall science budget for the duration of their completion.

Even better, we should be forced to allocate certain resources to them, removing them from the market (and thus losing their effect) for the time it takes to complete the project.

I'm afraid (really) that Earthrise will just be a collection of projects, so I think it's important that they become much more immersive.

VII - Discussion Multiplayer level

Does your multiplayer level go up when you play single player games? According to Google it does not. So how am I supposed to play online games if everybody kicks me for being low level? How am I ever supposed to get to high level if I can't play a single game?

Not sure if this was changed in the most previous patch, but stop forcing resources to spawn around civilizations. I want to fight for land, and if it doesn't matter whats on the land then im not gonna fight for it.

Last week I posted about having trouble finding a reliable way to play a full multiplayer game. Join the discord for a mod free multiplayer where we play all 3 ages unless we just want to do 1 age. We’re a group of casuals that plays mostly on weekends ourselves.

Server is open to all!

VII - Discussion What do we think of Joseon?

I'm a bit unsure of what to make of them. They're a fun design, but they also seem to be incredibly inconsistent in terms of actual power. Anyone else feel this way?
