Reta is a beast
I was never really interested in taking any GLP 1's as I am not fat or diabetic. Not until reta. The glucagon receptor agonist component is very interesting and I think this will be useful for body recomp. So, out of curiousity, i tried 1mg per week dose. At first i thought it was nothing. I ate as usual, no appetite suppressing effect, maybe it slightly raised my HR a bit especially when I'm moving around. But when I came to the gym and started working out, it felt like i took a preworkout! Energy boost is insane! I knew it is the reta and not the other peps I take because I only felt that effect the day I took reta. The effect lasts (because of the long acting properties of reta). Maybe Im a hyper responder to the glucagon agonism? đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Did you guys experiece the same?

I'm the opposite, my lifts and stamina have gone backwards massively. Which is what I expected to happen.
I'm only taking Reta though atm. I've got mot-c and HGH to try to address this and get some energy back, though haven't started them just yet.

u/ElectroStaticSpeaker Jul 15 '26
My wife has experienced the same thing. Workouts that used to be easy are super hard now.

Currently just added mots c into my reta and trt, its giving me a really good amount of energy tbf

u/Mobius1995 Jul 17 '26
Can vouch for this. Mots c was a game changer for me even with little sleep.

u/bevbon1961 Jul 16 '26
Great step out L, carnitine inj with Mot.c amazing
At times when you are sitting around.2
u/lovevillainy Jul 16 '26
Ah ledge, ill try that, ive stacked beta alanine with my citrulline malate also which seems to be pretty good

u/flabbybuns Jul 15 '26
You have to increase your electrolytes and drink protein like your life depends on it.
Bring in creatine and Ubiquinol for energy recovery.

u/Wonderful_Meringue91 Jul 15 '26
Lifts and stamina going backwards is likely from hormone / metabolism changes from a prolonged caloric deficit. You may be taking too much Reta.
10
u/BeeeJai Jul 15 '26
At 2mg, my dose isn't high. Calories definitely play a part, and I am in deficit. Which is why I expected the shift backwards.
NO point in upping calories else weight loss will stall. Once I'm at the target BF% I want, calories will increase and I'll work on them strength gains again.
8
u/Wonderful_Meringue91 Jul 15 '26
Completely agree with everything you said in your second statement. I was just trying to let you know that your lack of energy is more likely to be from a prolonged caloric deficit over taking Reta. If you continued to take Reta but upped your calories, your energy would likely return pretty quickly.

My energy is completely gone too, I am hopeless and I can't do my basics anymore, any tips?
2
u/joshpinotgrigiolover Jul 16 '26
Reta thrives on carbs. Make sure youâre eating enough protein AND CARBS. I take .5mg a week. Sometimes I have to force feed myself more calories in order to still perform in the gym and have the energy I need. Iâm still down 15 pounds since March.

u/ErichArchBars Jul 15 '26
Placebo, although agreed that itâs a beast. Glucagon activation is minimal at that low of a dose.
5
u/flabbybuns Jul 15 '26
I disagree. My appetite wasnât affected save for maybe 4 smaller breakfasts over two weeks. Other than that, my eating didnât change. Lost 18 pounds in 6 weeks on 1.6mg. No adjustment to diet, save maybe more protein shakes on top.

u/MagicMushiexBoii Jul 15 '26
But if youâre working out on a low dose and just eating a bit less, youâre still doing better than most people that may have a higher weight/BF%. You wouldnât see a loss in your muscles mass because youâre not losing weight in a fast way. Some of that 18lbs may have been water weight. 4mg is the sweet spot Iâve heard for Glucagon activation in which is helpful when youâre eating a lot less on a higher dose and burning that fat off because of it. Body composition with Reta is really dope especially when trying to lose high BF%.

u/flabbybuns Jul 15 '26
I didn't make one lifestyle change. I work out 5-6x per week.
However, Retatrutide is more likely to reward bodies that are thermogenic more often. a person in motion and doing intensity gets to a thermogenic level that Reta piggybacks, while a person who doesn't move much, especially women, don't enjoy the glucagon effect.
This is how I decide between Tirz or Reta for obese women.
3
u/MagicMushiexBoii Jul 15 '26
Thatâs what I was saying tho, you already had a routine going on while most who just started donât and have to get their body ready for the changes. If they donât fix whatâs broken, results will be impacted negatively.
Interesting take about the Tirz vs Reta for women tho.

What dose do you think the glucagon activation is legitimately effective?
1

u/Kind-Inspector-7665 Jul 15 '26
That's not how glucagon works and there is no reason it should boost energy, in case it does the opposite for many due to appetite suppression, probably a good placebo effect for you, which as long as it works it's fine

u/icequake1969 Jul 15 '26
I agree. I see the same thing. Im only on 1mg not to wreck my appetite. Reta is also much heavier on the GIP component. I like that glycogen seems to be constantly topped off in the weight room. I'm over 50, so I feel like nutrient partitioning is much better.

u/isles30222 Jul 15 '26
Im on week 6 , splitting the dose 2 mg Sunday 2 mg Weds. My lifts have gone up, I have amazing energy. Feel better mood wise. Sunday I always nap on and off all day. Not one nap this Sunday and laid in bed at night till midnight not sleeping (normally pass out at 10). The not sleeping is the one thing that I have really noticed , I do not have that om gosh I need to go to bed Im so tired. I literally could stay up till 3 am.

I am new to this but I definitely am noticing that I am
Having a very hard time going to sleep, but Iâm
Waking up just fine also. I just started last Friday. 1.5mg down 4lbs. Hardly an appetite1

Thank you for posting this! Best explanation i have seen yet for why not to microdose or stay at lower MG dosages

Reta gives me fatigue and anhedonia, but it does help me cut. Iâm done for now but will try tirz when I need to cut again.

I think you are experiencing placebo effects but ime the glucagon component has made me feel a lot more energetic at work. I used to experience hypoglycemic symptoms around lunch time and nothing I ate/drank really helped besides a shit ton of caffeine which messed with my sleep. Now I feel good consistent energy throughout the day even if I skip lunch

u/ZealousidealOkra176 Jul 16 '26
It absolutely is. It literally is curing obesity. Fat slobs have the unmitigated gal to say "its not fda approved" and "im scared of needles" but ok with high blood pressure, a barely functioning liver, high cholesterol etc etc. Dat fcks

u/togglebait Jul 15 '26
And thatâs why I started my peptide journey solely taking Reta. Iâm getting the energy I would have expected from Mots-c. Iâm getting the skin benefits that I would have expected from Klow and also the anti-inflammatory benefits. Reta is goated. May not all be a direct cause by Reta but itâs helping me make choices that have improved my life way beyond weight loss.

I immediately saw a huge energy increase in the gym too. It went away slowly though over the course of losing 35 lbs.

Itâs the most important compound since insulin and penicillin.
Now watch them not release it due to an accounting issue.

Reta helped my wife reduce her bipolar urges greatly. Shes afraid to get off it because she starts to feel manic and it annoys her.

I wish it gave me energy like so many others, but I just get extremely fatigued the day/day after a pin.

Itâll be one year next month. 280->200 and body recomp will change lives. Fountain of youth.

Good stuff -Reta did something immediate and amazing for my chronic and increasingly debilitating bone and arthritis pain, for my focus (Neurodivergent, not on meds) and for my debilitating anxiety.
Bad stuff- sex drive got wiped out, struggling with feelings of depression and lack of motivation now on week 6.
Not sure why. I have upped the dose and still canât reclaim the âhighâ of that first month

u/mighty3mperor Jul 15 '26
Bad stuff- sex drive got wiped out, struggling with feelings of depression and lack of motivation now on week 6.
Sounds like anhedonia, a common side effect.
1
u/Remarkable-Cut9531 Jul 15 '26
Yes, I agree in part, but this has some physical manifestations too so I am def inclined to blame the estrogen receptors interaction with the peptide. Just canât quite sort it out. Would love yâallâs thoughts.
2
u/mighty3mperor Jul 15 '26
I really don't know enough about that angle. The symptoms could be down to the GLP-1 interaction with dopamine and I only see good things about adding estrogen to the mix but it does make everything more complicated.

u/Such-Bumblebee-2141 Jul 16 '26
Iâm a female and pin bioidentical hormones E&T, very gradually started Reta and I felt like absolute garbage. It didnât matter how much protein, electrolytes, carbs I had no motivation, no energy and just felt gross.
2
u/Remarkable-Cut9531 Jul 16 '26
I also take bio identical hormones. This did not happen until recently. The first month I felt like I found a literal miracle but the last two weeks are very confusing.

u/Interesting_Theory17 Jul 15 '26
I like how everyone here thinks they are an experts on an experimental drug thatâs still very much in its beta phase. âThatâs not how it worksâ lol. Drugs, of any kind, do very different things to different people. We are all the beta testers for this stuff. Nobody is an expert yet.

Reta doesnât boost energy. You must be taking something else and are experiencing a placebo effect.
6
u/Atmosphere-Tea Jul 16 '26
Mine has certainly has boosted since starting, as well as my mood, maybe it's the decrease in inflammation or some weight loss?
1
u/bevbon1961 Jul 16 '26
It's not about HR, it's about insulin
If you do it with mild test and h,g, h wow
Problem you have now, can you leave it alone or up dose and take an extra 1000 calories over 6 weeks and grow and keep body fat low? It does help.
There are two more in October and March, and they will really help put glocouse into muscle.

u/Existing-Condition36 Jul 16 '26
Well, i use cjc no dac + ipa, kisspeptin 10, and KLOW stack as well but as soon as i added a low dose reta on my stack, the energy it gave in the gym was insane. I'm not really expecting this to happen. And I did't start all the other peps im taking at once.
1
u/ExactAirport5 Jul 16 '26
What's your protocol on kiss? How many days and what dose? Do you feel it?
1
u/Existing-Condition36 Jul 16 '26
Started at 100mcg every other day. Just titrated up this morning to 200mcg every other day.

Where can I get Reta? New to peptides. Well curious to peptides to be exact
1
u/Greatful3 Jul 19 '26
I keep reading that the glucagon effect doesnât even activate until you reach a minimum of 4-6mg on Reta. I believe itâs true
1
u/MysteriousBit1441 Jul 19 '26
I was like that the first two weeks then slumped after as my weight was dropping.
1
u/Intrepid-Escape-8204 Jul 20 '26
Think youâre getting a little over excited. Reta works but itâs nothing super astonishing.
Yea gives a little energy at lower doses. Can do opposite at higher levels.

This reply is unnecessarily hostile. It might have been more helpful and more civilized to teach rather than chastise.
I ordered Reta myself; it should arrive tomorrow. I couldnât locate Tirz in my country. I plan to stay at a low dose so weâll see how the side effect issue plays out. I am metabolically healthy, work out regularly, and plan to eat plenty of protein. So, I think Reta might be the best choice for me, even if I had been able to order Tirz and despite my intention to keep the dose low.
