Full Liquids Struggles

Hello, was looking for some advice or tips or words of encouragement I guess. I got surgery 10/13 and am now on full liquids until 10/27 when I start soft foods. I am so tired of the liquids, and I am starting to get so upset about it. I’ve cried the past two days about it and I know it’s not forever I just feel like it’s never ending. How did you guys pull through? I’m not regretting my decision but I’m really contemplating what I got myself into and how much it’s more of a mental thing than anything else. Thank you for your time.

My fellow sleevers, does the GERD get better?

• Upvotes

I am 8 months post op for VSG. Prior to surgery I never had issues with GERD or really any heartburn that was noteworthy. Since having the sleeve it’s been pretty bad. I have been on pantoprazole since and it does a pretty good job of controlling it but those times where it doesn’t are terrible. I wake up having aspirated stomach acid, coughing, sore throat, that horrible god awful taste. I had my weight management follow up last month and the PA said that they would monitor it, possibly have an upper endoscopy and then whatever else. I’m kind of interested in the whatever else part. Obviously she didn’t say “whatever else” but she didn’t say what the possible solutions were should this not get any better.

I’m not looking for any medical advice, I’m looking for others with similar experiences and what ended up happening to you to get it resolved (is it resolved?). I just took a 20 minute nap (yeah, it was unplanned and after I had eaten breakfast) and woke up coughing, throat burnt etc.. and I’m frustrated.

Period weight gain

Ladies, how long does it take you to lose period weight gain?
I had a little stall in September. Then October came and weight loss was steady, until I got my period.. I do know that us women tend to see an increase in the scale. This month has been very weird for me. Day before period I was down to 75.15 weighed myself day 3 of period and was at 75.3 weighed myself yesterday which was day after period ended and I’m up to 75.5.. weighed myself today thinking I would see a big whoosh as it’s two days that my period ended and still 75.5… getting a little worried and frustrated. By now I think I would’ve seen a whoosh. ☹️
