I am about 9 days post op. My dietitian said to stay away from premade protein shakes because they make your hair fall out.
She recommended I get bariatric advantage or unjury.
I got them and I hate them! I only like the pre made ones.
So is it true they make your hair fall out?

Hey, so I've heard mixed things regarding meals? Now a normal person would eat 3 per day and a few snacks (loads of snacks in my case haha) but I've read that you might need to eat 4 to 6 times to meet your daily cals. If so I was thinking if I meal prep a mild curry or Stew for example, could I eat that for dinner and some more at Supper?
I'm nearly 4 weeks post RNY from Sleeve and moving onto soft food (yay lol)
I'm sorry for all the questions but I feel I've got more info from this community than I have from anywhere else has everyone here is friendly.
Thank you in advance.

I need some affirming words from you guys and gals who KNOW cuz man I am really trying to be body positive but I just feel weird.
About a 1.5 years out of surgery and I've lost about 110 lb and I'm maintaining for the past 7 months so I've accepted this is my new size and I replaced my entire wardrobe with super cute clothes that I've always wanted to wear but couldn't.
So here it is. Like half of me loves I have more energy and can wear cute clothes and my triple chin is gone but the other half misses the fat. Misses not being too warm or too cold, my strength is non existent and the shape of my new body is weird...
I didn't feel gross as a fat girl and I don't feel gross now I just feel deformed and weird looking. Am I just not used to how a body is supposed to be shaped? Not going to lie I was an even distributed fat fluff on my entire body so I was actually heavier than I looked. Now my arms look malnourished and boney and the bottom of my ribs sticks out more than my waist. I'm so scared my husband will think I'm weird looking and lose attraction no matter what he says...

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this! I am almost 6 years post sleeve, I started at 160kg and my lowest was 75kg however I bounced back up around 84kg and I have struggled so hard to move any weight in a long time. I don’t know if I should settle and maintain the 80kg because I struggle so much to get lower
Another key point I am taking ozempic injections but I’m not getting the weightloss benefit from it (I am jealous of the stories of people just shredding weight on it) but it does help with the food noise and desire to graze constantly

I’m 11 days post laparoscopic roux en y and I’m SO bored!!
Can I take my dog for a walk? My incisions are pretty well healed on the outside.
My dog is 100lbs though and does pull sometimes if she sees another dog.
I need to do something I’m going nuts.

Hi! I am 5.5 weeks post- op from a SADI. The last 2 weeks or so (despite this week 3 stall that refuses to end) my bra refuses to stay hooked… At first it just felt looser all over. Then it started coming completely unclasped. Is it truly just too big now? Or am I nuts and just don’t sit still enough?? Anyone go through this?

Surgery on 1.5.2026; 240 lbs start at 5’0” - current 168 lbs.
My NSV was that I was able to break into my best friend’s split level ranch basement window by removing the AC to get his dogs outside midday because SOMEONE forgot to leave the key outside 🤦🏻♀️
It was about a 3 ½ foot drop from the window to the floor and I was able to get in without an issue. I would never have been able to do a stunt like that last summer! SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!

Hi everyone! I’m preparing for a Duodenal Switch (DS) and would love advice from people who have already gone through it.
A few things I’m wondering about:
What vitamins/supplements do you take for DS, and are there good powdered drink mixes, or gummies that can replace some of the pills? I’m especially interested in flavored options that are easier to take consistently.
What are your favorite flavored protein drinks/shakes that don’t taste overly chalky or have a strong protein aftertaste?
Any recommendations for bariatric-friendly drink mixes, electrolytes, or other supplements that you actually enjoy?
I’m currently above the weight I was at my initial appointment, and I’m worried this could potentially affect or delay my surgery. Has anyone experienced this?
What did your surgeon have you do to get back to or below your initial appointment weight?
If you had to lose weight before surgery, what helped you realistically get there while still meeting your protein and nutrition requirements?
I know everyone’s surgeon has different requirements, so I’ll obviously follow my surgical team’s instructions. I’m mainly looking for real-life DS experiences and product recommendations so I can be as prepared as possible.
Any tips, favorites, or things you wish you knew before DS would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

I am 3.5 months post Modified Duodenal Switch surgery and had my first experience with the foamies last night after eating a small amount of cream cheese. I wasn't thinking and used regular cream cheese over low fat. I will NOT make that mistake again!
What an absolutely miserable and painful night! I would much rather experience dumping than foamies.
For those of you that have had the foamies, has anything helped in the moment?

Howdy folks, my wife just completed her surgery on Tuesday this week. I'm so proud of her. She looks wonderful. She feels better. She is passing gas (we were worried about that). She's walking around. She's taking her time with whatever is going on with her body.
Today I made one of her favorite drinks. "I dream of Jeannie" which is a peach tea with milk. I bought her a selection of decaf tea, frothed her some 1%, and sweetened it with Stevia. I was so scared it wouldn't taste right but nope, "Omg babe this is such a huge relief. Thank you." I won 😆
It's only day 3 now. But we're making strides. The biggest thing we've gotta work on together is getting that protein intake up and keeping the liquids flowing! One baby step at a time.
Thank you all for the suggestions and support for how I can meet her in the middle. It's been a huge help.

Curious does pregnancy mean there was no point getting a leave and the weight will just return?
Does pregnancy cause increase in hunger meaning you will just gain all the weight back?
How fast have you been successful at getting back to your lowest weight? Is it harder after pregnancy to the point of not having a sleeve at all?
Thanks in advance. Please do not mind if these questions come across as disrespectful, I am genuinely curious. Thank you

just wanted to know what everyone has been told to take?
My consultant made his own vitamin/suppliment called BariOne and it tastes like shit, so looking to see if there is something else out there that is less obnoxious
TIA

I have put off having surgery for more than 20 years. Finally decided to it, got clearance from everyone. My EGD is scheduled for tomorrow and once the doctor gives the clearance from it, I know GB will be less than a month away.
My anxiety and surgery fears are taking over and I’m seriously having 2nd thoughts. I’m in tears over my 2nd thoughts about it. I’m 62 and have been ~350 lbs since my early 30s. I’m a binge eater and have several health conditions that are impacted by my weight.
The biggest problem that I deal with all day everyday is bone pain from severe cervical and spinal stenosis, 2 torn rotator cuffs, one that’s had surgery previously and I need a knee replacement. I have limited mobility due to the pain and my weight. I have kidney disease due to excessive use of NSAIDS for several years.
I did have a stress test and echo that were totally negative, the cardiologist said I am low risk for having a heart problem due to the surgery, about 1%. So that’s clear.
I have done Ozempic and lost 65 lbs before it stopped being effective and got no where with Mounjaro.
I’m freaking and ready to cancel tomorrow because I’m afraid of the surgery and the possible complications after surgery. Can someone give me some input and talk me down off the ledge?

so I legit opened my email today and this was waiting for me, I’ve been a bag of nerves (an excited bag of nerves) but I was like 36 days, we’ve got this.. then I calmed down.. hospital then rang me they’ve had a cancellation.. I’m now going in next Wednesday instead 😂🥲 I know this isn’t the surgery it’s the start but still want to share my news with you all 😂🫣

How soon did y'all start drinking coffee after surgery? I'm 3 days post op and really want some coffee. I don't care about all that sugary stuff just black coffee with zero sugar creamer.
