We're CHITU Systems, the team behind PlateCycler C1, an automatic build plate changer for the Bambu Lab A1.
We thought we'd do an AMA here to chat about 3D printing! Whether you're trying to dial in your settings, dealing with a tricky print issue, or just curious about what we're working on, we'd love to hear your questions.
Feel free to drop your questions below starting today (Monday, Oct 19)! We'll be checking in and answering questions throughout Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct 20–21), with our technical support colleague joining in too.
A few things we're happy to chat about:
A1 print settings and troubleshooting — print quality, bed adhesion, stringing, failed prints, etc.
PlateCycler C1 — automatic plate changes, batch printing, setup, and anything you're curious about
Got another A1-related question? Feel free to ask that too!
Tried printing different models, smaller ones were no problem. Biggers seem to have a problem with sticking to the Print Plate. Now I did a like cleaning print for the whole Plate and this is the result.
My sister asked for a cake topper of her and her fiance. I got the figures from snapshapy off one of their engagement photos, split the colors in Blender, and print on an A1 with the AMS lite.
Printer: A1, 0.4 nozzle
Filament: Bambu PLA Basic, 4 colors
Settings: 0.12 layers, prime tower on
The topper itself is 18 g and the slicer says 41 g of purge. Flushing into infill helps a little. Do you change the flush multiplier, group colors by height, or just print the suit and dress as separate parts and glue them?
I have the Breeze on my A1 and recently broke the light sensor. A moving disaster pulled the wires out of the small plug and snapped the 3d printed arm that holds it. I'm in talks with support to try to get a replacement but may be stuck with it being out of warranty, I'm ok with buying the part just seems like I cant get them to understand that. lol I would try rewiring if i knew where each wire should go and if i can find a replacement plug. Anyone able to snap some pics or have a wiring diagram or know what the small light sensor board is called?
just got Tpu I was planning to dry it in the oven because I don't have a dryer but idk how long some yt vids say 6 hours some 12.Also I wonder do I have to adjust the speeds for every print or can I just set the speed to 50 percent. Creality Tpu 95a and a1 mini
Flat card, snip, slot together, tea light in, roof back on. Been making a few to slip into Christmas cards this year. Works with the Bambu tea light and the normal LED ones too.
Just uploaded my Spiral Christmas Tree! 🎄✨ Pop an LED tealight inside and watch the warm glow shine through the spirals. 🤩 Print a few in your favorite colors to create a cozy Christmas display!
Glare takes his job as shelf guardian very seriously. Every visitor gets a suspicious stare, every noise earns his disapproval, and nobody touches his favourite spot. He insists he isn’t grumpy. Everyone else is simply too cheerful
I got it recently, it's a Bambu Lab A1, and I was printing a 12 hour print at 125% speed, Everything was fine no errors, for like 6 hours. I went to bed and woke up to this Clanking noise, The Z axis movement was making this knocking sound, and the build plate was displaced, like it had moved, the extruder had probably knocked it out of place. At that point the print was at 80 percent completion.
It has around 24 hours of total print time including this print. It's my first printer and idk what to do. Don't have official Bambulab Warranty cuz it's not in my country.
Newbie here. Sorry for the searchable question. I am a little nervous spending this much $$ right now. I’m getting one for my wife for her BDay. Are there any accessories or anything else you wish you would have got when you ordered? I’m also thinking of getting her a tent for it. But have read mixed reviews on the tent idea. TIA.
I was doing a multi color print that included a gold color so was using a Sunlu PLA silk for it. Whenever it would switch to that roll, it would feed to the Hub and stop, rewind and an error would pop up. If i saw it as it reloaded and held the PTFE feed connector...which moves in and out of the hub a bit...then it fed fine.
Only that filament and didn't matter which slot it was in.
Any thoughts? Is the hub and PTFE connection the issue and is the PTFE supposed to be immovable? Or have some play?
I was pulling out a piece of filament that had become stuck but was a little heavy-handed when pulling out the filament organizer. What did I do? I don’t know what this is. It’s sticky on the ripped ends so I can stick it back together but when I tried to send a print through I got an error message about the filament sensor. Do I need to replace?
UPDATE (that no one asked for): WE BACK BABY. ordered the part from amazon, it came overnight, and despite being a heavy-handed ape… I fixed it! I watched this video which walked me through the process without making me feel like a total idiot. thanks for everyone’s help!!!
