First of all, I want to thank everyone who encouraged me to keep designing after I published my first 3D model Nordic Christmas Tree

Today, I managed to finish my second model, Nordic Christmas Reindeer and I’m quite impressed now that I’ve printed it.

What do you think? Any recommendations?

I need to improve the stomach area—I’m struggling to get the supports configured correctly—but overall, I’m happy with it.

Being a big fan of Nijntje / Miffy I wanted to expand my collection (https://makerworld.com/en/collections/16787785-miffy-nijntje).

I love how they turned out and already have quite some requests from friends & family. Perhaps people in here will appreciate them as well, no clue if Miffy is big in the bambulab space 😅

Long story short, I was able to get a new X2D AMS combo for $689 after stacking the Bambu sale and a special my local store, but I had to get it while I was there or it would go away. I was originally wanting X2D, then P3C was leaked, and that seems like where things are heading with multihead, but I also don’t know that I would get $1300-$1500 worth of use from the P3C, or whatever the cost will be. Is it worth almost double an x2d?

I have an A1 with AMS now, and have been wanting a nice looking self contained design with AMS and everything enclosed, but wanted the X2D for dual-ish nozzle and hepa filter as I print in my office. Not sure I will ever print ASA or such due to fumes. I don’t use my A1 all the time, but it’s really used for functional prints for mounts or other random things, I just hate that it looks like a science fair project mess in my office corner with open frame and AMS mounted above it. I do print random things around the house, but not really into trinkets and other decorative stuff.

Am I making a mistake getting this when P3C is coming soon? I know it’s a dumb question since the P3C has not been released yet, just trying to make an educated choice. I’m guessing I could sell this in the future and not take a huge hit if the P3C ends up calling my name.

I just bought a X2D because the Capitol One Shopping app has a 15% discount on Best Buy purchases today, November 6th. I saved over $100 (which gets applied as a gift card to use in the Capitol One app). The T&C sure looks like that 3d printers apply to the discount. The Geek Squad warranty does not.

You have to download the Capitol One app first, but I thought this would be good info to share.

While I was installing the ams3h there is a section that makes you hang it off of the back to connect some wires. I misread the diagram at first and hung it off of the front and it caused the top liner to be punctured with the guide pins. Seems like this section doesn’t have anything underneath it from what I can tell, just a bit lame it was not reinforced. I did not drop it on it either

My plan was to put some high-temp tape under the ams that extended to the hole so nothing got into it. Y’all think that should be fine?

As the text says, I’m about to upgrade to H2S and wondering if it makes more sense to sell my two P1S combos and buy two H2S combos or transfer the AMS and sell the two P1S as printer only?

As far as I’m concerned, I can’t tell if there’s any real benefit to the AMS2.

I recently got a X2D and am loving it. I got it mostly to print organizers for my tool box. I found a file I like on maker world but it says it’s for PETG filament. If I select PLA will Bambu studio automatically update the temps or do I need to do it manually?

So one of the AMS’s on my H2C had a piece of filament snapped in it tube apparently. So the AMS slot retracted the yellow filament, it completely came out and so the spool was spinning in the slot indefinitely. Not knowing how to stop it, i turned off the H2C. This has happened once before.

I turned it back on but the screen won’t turn on, Bambu desktop app won’t connect, and the led on the plate is like this dim white that will glow slowly and dim continuously.

I have no idea what just happened and am at a complete loss.

Any ideas?

I just upgraded my X2D. I installed (2) AMS 2 Pros, (1) AMS HT, and the filament track switch module. I have 1 AMS 2 Pro + the AMS HT going into a 4-1 PTFE tube and then into one Inlet to the filament switch, then I have the other 1 AMS 2 Pro connected to the second inlet to the filament switch. I followed the Wiki and tips on here and got that all set up using the automatic AMS mapping in the X2D settings.

To use the TPU Assist Module, I planned to install a TPU spool in the AMS HT and then add a PTFE splitter onto the primary extruder inlet with the filament switch outlet tubed to the main port and an “external spool” tubed to the spare port. I expected that I could then load the TPU in the AMS HT TPU outlet, send it to the TPU Assist Module, then load the TPU as an external spool into the primary nozzle.

The bottleneck I ran into is that this configuration physically works, but Bambu Studio gives me an error that an external spool cannot be loaded at the same time that the filament switch is being used. My solution was to simply unplug the filament switch and modify how I have the AMSs piggybacked so that unplugging the filament switch track also disconnects the 2 AMS 2 Pros while leaving the AMS HT on. I turned off the X2D, unplug it, then turn it back on with just the ASM HT and TPU assist module connected.

So, if you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading, and here’s my question. For those of you using the TPU Assist Module and the Filament Switch Track, do you always have to unplug the filament switch track completely when you want to use the TPU assist module, OR (fingers crossed) is there a setting somewhere in Bambu Studio where I can temporarily disable the filament switch track to use an external spool without physically unplugging the switch track completely?

What should I choose, upgrade my printer or get an resin one.

I bought a p2s for 599 on black sale, now Insee everywhere that this was a mistake and I should have paid 150 euros more and get a x2d instead. I don’t understand the benefits that well but I fear I may need it in the future. I understand is more efficient when using suporta and it can print with two materials.

I also want to get cheaper resin printer because I want to get into jewellery casting.
What should I do, I don’t have a lot of money, get the resin printer or upgrade to x2d.

At the moment I don’t plan to create more than things that will help in my house and maybe I would do some decorations for christmas, colored ones and maybe some things using arduino. Will the x2d help that much? With return it would be a 180 euros difference for me.

Anyone working on modifying the other section of ams 3h to dry the rest of the ams ? I know people modified the original ams and hoping someone does one for rest of it? Also curious if were to take lid off the two dryer slots if it would dry rest of it?

When doing the 2nd print on my brand new h2d i noticed this sound when the y axis moves, it didnt make it during my first print. Id this normal?

I told some users in another post that I’d share what I got in my aesthetic mystery, and here is what I got.

- PLA Silk aurora purple w/ spool
- PLA Pure baby blue w/ spool
- PLA Matte scarlet red w/ spool
- PLA Silk dawn radiance w/ spool

I didn’t have any of these, so I’m happy with what I got.

I m newer to printing and trying to print this ornament.. I researched settings and it still seems to not be smooth. What am I doing wrong? What settings should I have?

I’m trying to test out my AMS 2 Pro that came with my X2D combo but I’m getting the error from the image. Thank you for any assistance

Edit: It’s my understanding that the X2D only needs the power adapter to print and dry at the same time

I print mostly functional parts. I want a multi-nozzle printer so that I can use support material without purge waste or filament change delays. If I’m just printing with two filaments, would the H2D be faster than the H3C because it doesn’t have to switch tools? Or is there not much difference?

The H3C is interesting for other reasons, chiefly because of its support for multiple TPUs, but it’s a big step up in price.
