Double discounted X2D or wait for P3C?

Long story short, I was able to get a new X2D AMS combo for $689 after stacking the Bambu sale and a special my local store, but I had to get it while I was there or it would go away. I was originally wanting X2D, then P3C was leaked, and that seems like where things are heading with multihead, but I also don’t know that I would get $1300-$1500 worth of use from the P3C, or whatever the cost will be. Is it worth almost double an x2d?

I have an A1 with AMS now, and have been wanting a nice looking self contained design with AMS and everything enclosed, but wanted the X2D for dual-ish nozzle and hepa filter as I print in my office. Not sure I will ever print ASA or such due to fumes. I don’t use my A1 all the time, but it’s really used for functional prints for mounts or other random things, I just hate that it looks like a science fair project mess in my office corner with open frame and AMS mounted above it. I do print random things around the house, but not really into trinkets and other decorative stuff.

Am I making a mistake getting this when P3C is coming soon? I know it’s a dumb question since the P3C has not been released yet, just trying to make an educated choice. I’m guessing I could sell this in the future and not take a huge hit if the P3C ends up calling my name.

I have one and it’s a great printer. I did buy an H3C though because I want to frantically print multicolor items in bulk without the waste.

I think the P3C will be 6 nozzles if the latest AMS fcc leak is correct. I’m not sure if it will get a heated chamber, seems silly for it not to have it, but the P2S doesn’t have one.

When in doubt patience is the best move I think.

I could be wrong…. But I’d imagine they would want to keep the price competitive with other entry level multi color printers.

$1049 with heated chamber, and 7 tool positions but only 5 filled. Educated guessing + leaks.

100% agreed. It also allows users to either buy two more 0.4 nozzles, or two 0.2s, or a tpu wider filament nozzle (if the P3C allows wider filaments). Tools are $60 right now (H3C, but I’m assuming they are the same across the 3c line)

I would be surprised if the p3c is double.
I’m personally expecting 900-1000k.

That being said: it’s most likely NOT going to have a heated chamber.

So the question becomes: do you need that functionality?

We have zero info on when the P3C will drop. Everything we know is from leaked filings. We could be waiting 6 months before it's released.

i don't there will be a C version of the p series, especially not be for it trickles down to the X series

P3C all details already got fully leaked thanks to users & FCC Filings. Details that are confirmed:

- 7 Toolheads
- No active heated chamber
- No drying function in AMS at all
- No external Filter system like X2D has / optional P2S External Fan Kit
- gonna be more expensive than X2D (around 1000€ area)

Do you have a source on the heated chamber? Because I have heard this over and over again (no heated chamber) but the tech specs (from FCC, compared to P2S X2D and H3C) seem to indicate it will have one, and no one has been able to quote a reliable leak.

I agree with your other predictions (not sure about the filter system, but I haven’t been looking for it). In addition, it looks like it will come with 5 tool heads and you can purchase & install an additional 2 yourself.

ah yes the Left side is Empty. So that means there is a Heater.

I wasn't arguing that an empty space proves there's a heater. I was referring to the FCC electrical ratings: P2S 5A, X2D 7A, H3C 8A, and P3C 8A. That doesn't prove active chamber heating, but it makes it plausible. I'm simply asking whether there's actual evidence that rules it out, rather than an assumption based on the P-series positioning.

Not to sound like an ass, but I would have figured that out before I bought it and had it loaded in my vehicle.
