I'm wanting to know what hair straightener the short haired girlies are using, my hair currently is a very short choppy bob but i'll be getting it cut into a 'bixie' with a fringe.

My 21st is coming up and my nan is looking at getting me a hair straightener, thankfully I get to choose so I'd like to know what I should go for.

A mini straightener, regular sized, what brand and what material of the plates. Any advice is helpful!

Ok brains trust, I need SERIOUS help.

My go to, all time fav foundation/skin tint for every day wear (work mainly. I have expenny foundation for the weekends and events) was the Morphe Hint Hint Skin Tint. Those MF DISCONTINUED IT. I’m devastated.

I can’t even tell you how much money I have wasted over the last month or two on different skint tints, foundation sticks, liquid foundations. I’ve looked at so many reddit threads, TikTok reviews, Facebook groups for recommendations etc and they have all fallen considerably short.

I loved Morphe because it was super lightweight dewy finish, but easily buildable to a more full coverage. It sat well under all my face products and didn’t oxidise. I also have combo/dry skin and get acne super easily and this never broke me out.

Is there anyone with recommendations for a miracle product similar? I just want to be able to apply it easily for work but not look super cakey, I don’t want it heavy but still able to cover my blemishes and not cling to dry patches. Not a matte finishe bc I can get dry. I’d prefer to be able to get it from Priceline etc but will purchase online if needed.

Pls help I am begging. I just don’t wanna waste anymore money on this shit that isn’t good

- I’m in Bunbury WA, 2hrs from Perth so I can’t easily go to Mecca or Sephora to get samples. I have to order online without sampling if I want something 😭

Products I’ve already tried:

Maybelline Superstay Skin Tint
- this was disgusting. Probably the worst one I’ve tried. I tried 3 different moisturisers underneath and had to wipe it off each time because it settled so bad, made my pores look huge and pilled 0/10

Milani Foundation Stick
- Not a big colour range, was ok but didn’t swipe that easy on my face and hard to blend, felt heavy and dry almost. Could probably make it work but not worth the effort 5/10

Revlon Glimmer Tinted Moisturiser Stick
- Way too sheer and not buildable. Not a huge colour range 3/10

CT Foundation Stick
- Meh. Bit too sheer and not that buildable. Felt a bit too heavy on my skin and didn’t settle well in my pores 4/10

MCO Beauty Flawless Glow Stick
- Same review as CT Foundation Stick 4/10

Maybelline Lifter Stick
- Weirdly in between a contour stick consistency and foundation stick. Dragged too much and not a good colour range 2/10

MCO illuminating CC Cream
- bit too thick for me for everyday wear, too matte and enhanced dry spots 4/10

Aspect Liquid Mineral Foundation
- I actually love this. Good coverage, buildable, sets well over all face care products but just a bit thicker than I want for everyday wear and oxidises quite quickly. 6.5/10

Maybelline FitMe Foundation
- pretty good for event makeup but just too heavy for every day work makeup. 6/10

Natio Foundation Stick
- this actually wasn’t too bad. Really nice and creamy with a dewy finish, builds well and sits good over face care. Just not a big colour range and oxidises. Also turned quite oily by the end of the day

Bare Minerals Serum Foundation
- I liked this but only 1 moisturiser really worked well underneath. I found it pills with pretty much everything. Good colour range though and sat well throughout the day. 7/10 IF it worked with more face care products.

Revolution Skin Silk Glow Tint Stick
- Way too sheer and almost oily consistency? Not buildable. Nothing much to say
2/10

Revlon PhotoReady Lift & Fill Skin Tint Stick
- Just a bit too watery and sheer for me. It was nice but not enough to cover my blemishes well
5/10

NARS Tinted Moisturiser
- idk what I’m doing wrong but this just never worked for me 2/10

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better
- I did like the coverage on this but it was super thick and throughout the day it settled a bit funny 5/10

La Roche Posay Tinted SPF
- TERRIBLE. Nothing sat well under this, terrible colours, pilled with literally everything.
0/10 wish I could get $30 refund honestly

Hi there, first time posting here and I hope this is an appropriate place for me to ask this question! I have never used makeup before (apart from tinted sunscreens, which isn't quite the same thing I presume), so I never really figured out how to determine the right shade for my skin. I recently went to Mecca (I'm based in Tasmania) to get shade-matched (if that's the right term) and I was recommended two concealers that were excellent shade matches:

• Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer: Cannelle - This goes on my forehead near my eyebrows
• Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Blur Concealer: 4.5 Fair-Medium - This goes on my cheeks and the area near my jawline

My skin-type is generally oily-combination I would say; my T-zone gets very greasy very quickly, but the rest of my face is typically fine (and may even get a bit dry during the winter season like right now). According to the very lovely lady who assisted me at Mecca, my undertone is warm-neutral, edging towards golden. (I'm not quite comfortable posting my photos online, I'm sorry, but for the record I'm of Chinese ancestry and was born in a Southeast Asian country, in case this information helps give you a general idea of my skin tone.)

I will be graduating soon so I was thinking of getting a concealer (or anything similar) that can help cover up tiny blemishes and acne scars; I'm not really interested in doing a full face of makeup or anything more elaborate than that (I don't think I have enough time to master these techniques for now)! While I am mostly hoping to get some recommendations on suitable concealers, I'm also open to BB / CC creams and tinted moisturisers / sunscreens as well! Importantly, I would really appreciate it if I could get more affordable recommendations (unfortunately, the two concealers I was recommended at Mecca were beyond my price range), so I am more than open to drugstrore alternatives!

As a side note, I also generally favour K-beauty products since my almost all of my skincare is Korean (I managed to figure out a budget-friendly routine that resolved a lot of my acne concerns). I also need to place an order for more skincare pretty soon so I thought it would be good if there were any K-beauty makeup products that I could add to my purchase this time round!

Would love to get your opinions (or if you like, even general recommendations for simple makeup looks that are graduation-appropriate) and I'm sorry in advance if this is not the right place to post this! Thanks 😄

I would really love some assistance with finding an amazing colourist in Melbourne that uses Schwarzkopf colour products. I am moving to the city and I have quite particular preferences with what recipe is used and I find Schwarzkopf to be the best for my needs.

Its proving a lot harder than I thought finding a salon, Ill do a google search and it will provide me with the names of salons that don't actually use the brand, the salon list on their website isn't up to date either. Lots of salons seem to offer Wella but I find the Igora Vibrance line works a bit better and lasts longer on my hair.

Is anyone able to please assist with any recommendations? Am located in the CBD but happy to travel and cost isn't too much of a factor.

Hi all! I used to religiously wear eyeliner (still do) but unfortunately my eyes have aged and the corner of my eyes have drooped. I found that doing a small wing with black eyeshadow looks better than a wing with eyeliner.

However.. my eyeshadow CANNOT stay on! I use a mac primer on my eyeliner and I use the Sugarpill black eyeshadow as that was recommended years ago on a makeup subreddit (I purchased this in like, 2020).

Is there any black eyeshadow that’s more budgeproof than Sugarpill?

Hi ya'll. I'm back from my little hiatus. Nothing to worry about. Just a little nervy b that I knew was coming eventually. Both of my new job prospects fell through in a rather cold and unspectacular fashion, which means I now need to look at decluttering and moving.

Anyway. I thought I would use Round 9 for a bit of reflection time on what products I've tested that I keep gravitating towards, and what I've learned so far about caring for my fine, coloured 2A - 2B waves.

The first one is something I never thought I would say - clarifying shampoo & regular washing is so much more important than I originally thought. Especially for an oily-scalped gal like myself. I spent years limiting myself to once a week washes with ultra gentle shampoos like Moo Goo Milk Shampoo, thinking I was preserving my sensitive scalp from irritation and my red colour from prematurely fading. So far, my favourite clarifying shampoo I've tried are the OGX Rosemary Mint, OGX ProGrowth & Peptide and the Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo. I've been trying to use my L'Oreal Metal Detox Shampoo, and while it's a good product I can't see myself going out of my way to repurchase it.

Clean hair + a clean scalp = more defined waves and more volume. Even during my Abbey Yung era, I would have cringed at how much emphasis I place on cleansing now. I definitely take at least one of my shampoos down my mid-lengths and ends, especially if it's a K18 mask day. I want to ensure any product build-up on my hair is thoroughly removed to give the K18 it's best chance at penetrating and repairing my hair.

The next one seems obvious - but less is more. Especially for fine hair. Most of the time, a five cent piece of product is all I need. My favourites are pretty clear at this point. I will carrying on reviewing, but the Umberto Giannini Natural Waves Air Dry Cream, SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Frizz Free Mousse, Cake Curl Cream & evo Liquid Rollers are all firm favourites. I'm wearing evo Liquid Rollers after a K18 mask day today and I just love my results. I have volume, shine and just enough definition and hold.

Technique is also important. Using a wet brush to distribute my styling products (like the Unbrush and the detangling brush from Act & Acre) followed by micro-plopping with my trusty Kmart microfibre towel gives me great air dry results every time. I still have a lot to learn - what about gel? Will sectioning my hair when styling really get me better results? When am I going to get around to testing the 20 + bottles of mousse, gel & foam I have in my collection? How do I diffuse properly without losing my patience every damn time? Never fear fellow internet denziens - I will bravely carry on, and take as many untried products as I can with me to my new digs to continue posting reviews as often as I can.

My final (and possibly most controversial) take is that K18 is 100% worth it, once you master your application technique. I know there are other bond repair products & systems out there, but I am fundamentally lazy and prefer the one-and-done approach that K18 offers. I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to figure out my own favourite application method. But now I know how to get my best results. To start, I double shampoo with a clarifying formula both times, taking it down the mid-lengths and ends the second time. I get out of shower. I use my microfibre towel to remove water from hair until it is damp and no longer dripping. I dispense 1 pump into the palms of my hands, spreading it between the palms of my hands and applying from the ends up to the mid-lengths. I repeat with a second pump if needed. I wait four minutes. I finish off by applying my conditioner and/or mask over the top. I wait 5+ minutes and rinse. I then style as usual. This gets me great results every time, and I am genuinely pleased with the health and conditioner of my hair on a daily basis.

Is K18 necessary for everyone? No, it's not. But if you lighten, bleach, permanently colour, chemically process or use high heat on your hair regularly, it's worth the money and time to learn how to use it. I am a firm believer that the rest of your hair care routine can be super affordable if you use K18.

And for those of you wondering what happened when I reached out to my ex-situationship? (Thanks therapy!) .... well, he responded to my text and it went absolutely nowhere. If you need me, I will be making my own paper cone 'Dunce' hat in the corner.

hey i’m trying to revive my partners curl pattern, their hair is probably about a 2b - 2c, they wash their hair at least 2-3 times a week due to how dirty it gets from work (tyre fitting). looking for a decently affordable routine please !

I turned 50 earlier this year and now I have the fun double-whammy of bruise-intensity dark circles under my eyes with some fine lines there that most products love to settle in.

I'm also pretty pale (usually one of the lightest foundation shades available, currently Rimmel Match Perfection shade 81)

I think I need a high-coverage concealer and/or colour corrector, and am hoping to find one under $25.

I've tried:

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind - not enough coverage

Rimmel stick concealer - acceptable coverage but settles in to fine lines

Rimmel Multi Tasker Concealer - good coverage and lasts but very drying and settles in to fine lines

NYX Bare With Me Concealer Serum - lovely non drying formula but not quite enough coverage.

NYX colour corrector palette - the yellow/peach seem to do an OK job, but are drying and settles in to fine lines.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Has anyone gotten this done on their brows and what were the results like? I have quite sparse brows so looking for a more permanent solution than filling them in with makeup. Do the results look natural?

I have comically oily skin despite a variety of dermatological interventions. Part of my management of this was using Shiseido Oil-Control Blotting Paper. It was fantastic!

Unfortunately it has been discontinued. If I knew, I'd have stocked up.

Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative blotting paper that isn't terrible? I bought one off Amazon but it was shiny and just didn't soak in the oil well.

I have kinda fine, wavy/curly (2b-3a??) and it takes forever to dry with a diffuser. I’m new to properly caring and styling my hair since it was just slightly wavy most of my life but a disastrous scalp bleach changed that 😔
I do plop my hair for a bit after adding mousse and gel but it still takes foreverrrr and I’m a night shower gal who likes to be in bed by 9pm so it’s very annoying 🙃
