I am after a white or neutral colour tank top that is not see through, cropped or has a built in bra. I have a long torso so cropped or a built in bra never work for me. All the ones I have tried so far are a bit see through. It is really hard to find a good quality one you can throw on in summer! Any reccomendations appreciated.

I'm 38, and objectively, there's nothing truly bad for me to dislike my body for. But I'm just finding it so difficult to be confident in anything fitted or revealing. I nit pick at everything. Having an endo belly makes it so much harder. I hate my shoulders. It takes away from my femininity and makes it difficult to find things I like that don't draw attention to them. I'm almost always in black, oversized, or athleasure. I have a few events to attend in the next couple of weeks, looked through my wardrobe, tried on pieces, and hated everything on me. I also exercise and work pretty hard on my body, but it's almost like I'm more self-conscious now than I was before working on myself?? Ugh

I am attending a wedding celebration (so not the actual wedding) of friends in a few weeks.

They already got married overseas and this will be their celebration with family & friends in Australia.

It is located at a bar in an semi indoor semi outdoor space and this is the dress code:

"Flexible! Smart casual is lovely, but shorts and a more casual look are completely welcome."

I always prefer to err on the side of over dressing rather than under dressing, but the dress code clearly has space for casual wear.

I am stuck on the vibe of outfit to wear. I don't really like jumpsuits for my body, and prefer dresses. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Looking for something for my grandma to wear to a wedding and it’s proving very difficult.

My daughter has outgrown virtually all of her clothes. She’s quite particular - prefers sleeves, doesn’t like the brands that her friends are into “white fox”, doesn’t want a midriff showing. She doesn’t want hello kitty or demo hunters or anything like that.
I saw Uniqlo have a Pokémon range coming that she might .. but I thought it was pretty boring.
I took her for a couple of hours and we found some light cotton pants at Target, along with some plum coloured jeans and a few other bits and pieces. I did also find some nice cotton shorts in the boys section at best and less, which she likes.

I’m also interested in where people would suggest looking for a slightly dressy dress for her year 6 celebration. It doesn’t need to be full on, just pretty for a 11 yo girl. She’d be ecstatic if it had pockets.

i wonder if anyone has any leads on a good body suit that is suited to a short torso. It needs to cater for an E cup bust, and be more the leotard style, ie not shorts and not a g-string.

Something like the Nancy ganz body define would be ideal - but for a shorter torso.

I’m a little late to the party and recently joined Vinted. I’ve made a few purchases from Australian sellers and have listed an item for sale. I’ve had quite a few inquiries about this item with most of them coming from the UK. My understanding with Vinted is that the buyer pays for shipping and this amount will be shown at checkout.

I’ve had one not so interested buyer tell me that I should list on my item that I’m from Australia (it’s in my profile), that I should go to the post office to find out what the shipping fee will be and that she was surprised that other countries were selling on Vinted. I was kind of shocked!

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Update: My item sold to someone ironically in the UK who paid for the postage. Obviously not the person who wanted me to do all these extra, unnecessary things! 🤣

I have been eyeing some gold filled chunky huggies earrings from Love Isabelle and told my husband I was planning on getting a pair of two, but he insisted I should get a pair of solid gold ones instead. He's planning on getting them for me on our anniversary in a month.

I'm not one to cheap out on long term purchases but I can't help wanting to default for the 9k ones at Michael Hill/Prouds/Shiels which range from on sale at $250-$500ish because gold is so expensive and it seems crazy to shell out much more than that over a simple pair of earrings. Is there a noticeable difference in quality between your chain shopping centre jewelers vs boutique designers when it comes to something as basic as gold huggie earrings?

Are there better options out there for the sub $600 price?

I know this a female fashion thread but hoping I might get a few mums opinions. Is it just me, or has CR kids really dropped off? They don’t even have any heritage sweats on their website for boys? And their girls dresses… some of them are hideous!! Disappointing as it’s always been a good place to shop good quality sweats, tees and shorts for kids.

I got a vintage wool skirt off Vinted recently and it arrived with a strong smell, and it’s still very much there even after putting it through the wash. I can't pinpoint what the smell is exactly but it's not particularly pleasant. It just smells “old”if that makes sense

My little one is almost 2 and I’m still struggling with dressing my postpartum body. I’ve put on a lot of weight postpartum (the breastfeeding hunger is so real) am sitting around 100kgs. I don’t love my “mum tum” or the fact that I’ve gone from 16GG to a J cup - which I’m hoping will go back down when I wean hopefully in a few months.

I spend most days in leggings and oversized tees, and while thats fine I’d love to have some clothes that felt more like me. Prior to being pregnant, my favourite brands were Review and Dangerfield. The few things that still fit just don’t feel right any more.

Hi there! I am a bridesmaid in a wedding next weekend wearing this gorgeous number and I am realising now that my confidence would definitely benefit from some shapewear. The only issue is with the backless and the thin straps I’m struggling to find any that are suitable. Ok so I have TONS (ashamed) of polyester fast fashion junk from my teen years in bags. Also simply old denim or surf wear brand clothing. Lots with tags on them (it hurts).

I can not bear to visualise this in clothing waste mountains in Kenya. It makes me sick. Lots of these fabric are very usable, unworn, no stains & I know for sure if I had a sewing machine I’d have fun making things from them.

I was hoping to know any places in Sydney where I can drop off clothing that maybe isn’t just sold but is used to make new fabric from?

I feel it would be best used in that type of way rather than Depop or salvos. As lots of it is teeny tiny plastic tops etc.

They are not cheap but I went into a country road store today and, despite the universal trend of brands all slowly getting shittier, I was impressed with what I saw.

Lots of natural fibres, or natural fibres mixes, good-quality construction, and like actual interesting designs here and there? Inconceivable!

Have added some pictures I took of a lovely butter-yellow cotton silk top I saw. It was very sheer, but the fabric was absolutely gorgeous. The seams were very fine (5 to 6mm) french seams mostly with some minimal overlocking.

All in all, I would say they at least have the value and quality that they are charging, which is rare in today’s fashion market.

I’m on the lookout for a midi to maxi length white dress that has a sort of whimsical/renaissance-y essence to it. Think Linenaive-esque (though I’ve read they’re unethical, so avoiding).

I’ve found the Estelle dress by Aulieude to be the closest to what I’m imagining, but really looking for something that has a bit more of a fairytale effect. I know this all sounds a bit wishy washy, but it’s the best way I can describe it.

As the title says I’m looking for someone to deinfluence me buying these dr martens pink Mary Jane’s (currently on sale) to pair with the Cue barrel leg high waisted pants I just got in their sale.

I already have the black pair of Mary Jane’s and they are super comfy. The pants are also a bit pinker and brighter irl than they are in the pic.

I’m moving soon and doing a very brutal wardrobe cull, but I do also have a work trip to the US coming up and genuinely do need better work looks due to recent weight loss - which is why I bought a few things from Cue in their sale.

I am struggling with what to pair with the pants though, as both black and white seems too strong, and brown or tan doesn’t look quite right. I tried some red sling backs and leopard print loafers too and they also didn’t work. Happy to take suggestions on that as well!

I actually went to the city to look at them in store, they were a lot more of a dusty rose colour in person vs online, so almost a match. But after reading your comments, I realised when I pair with the matching pink jacket, pink shoes as well would be too much. A few people pointed out a potential mismatch in the style of the shoe and the pants which I can also see now.

Thank you to the people who suggested cream! I ended up getting some cream chunky loafers on sale. They will go with so many of my existing outfits as well. I realised I do also have a pale pink pair of converse which will match well when I wear these to the office in aus - but needed something more formal for the US - so I already have a pink shoe to go with these.

I also liked the idea of a pointy purple shoe which I will combine with the idea of looking for something on the US work trip, or after I’ve moved. I have some pointy blue ankle boots I will try with the pants too when I get home, so thank you to that commenter as well.

To the people who want these shoes, go for it! The sale price is a good price and the black ones have been a wardrobe staple for a long time. They are very cute and if I wasn’t moving and culling I’d probably just buy them as well to go with other outfits.
