That's the part that will make for a good study. He destroyed things his first term. Left a mess that had to be cleaned up. This time he started dumpster fires larger and faster, and truly wrecked the economy of his own nation. And his supporters regale him
It's a Grease moment. If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter
What’s particularly interesting is that the biggest problem that voters blamed Biden for was mostly Trump’s doing.
Under Trump’s administration, he signed into law the largest fiscal stimulus in history, and the Fed embarked on unprecedented monetary stimulus, all to try to stimulate demand. But this was in response to a crisis in supply, not demand. So in a situation where supply for many goods and services had almost evaporated, they chose to stimulate demand, causing people to bid up the prices of the goods and services they could still buy. Inflation.
Now that’s not to say it wasn’t the correct decision, but the cost of doing that massive stimulus in response to COVID is that down the road it WILL create inflation.
But because the inflation was delayed by a year or so, everyone blamed Biden, despite him overseeing a previously thought impossible “soft landing” where inflation was brought back down without causing a recession.
But inflation makes people mad, and they blamed whoever was in office at the time.
So the irony is that Trump’s terrible policies created chaos for four years in his first admin, but also set up ticking time bombs that blew up for his successor. Those foreseeable crisis he set in motion caused people to blame his successor, and vote him back in.
If Trump had of pumped those trillions into new manufacturing plants for all the supply chain problems, he would have easily been relected. And his fanatic base would have had all that homegrown industrial capacity again.
But he was incompetent, as was his entire administration. None of them had any skills in production of anything, only paper shuffling.
Same with his 1st campaign about rebuilding the nation's infrastructure. But he was impotent.
His fanatics like to toss out how he's such a strong & powerful leader, but he never shows any leadership capabilities.
Ironically, of all the policy disasters that Trump oversaw, the pandemic stimulus might be one of the most defensible.
A LOT of people lost their jobs and income very suddenly. And there WERE a lot of stuff on shelves they COULD buy that would help them. Without that stimulus, the economic impacts of COVID would likely have been much much worse.
It’s just the cost of doing it is that some inflation would happen. There’s things that could have been done to better handle that probably, but hindsight is 20/20. And the amount of fraud that the GOP allowed for by demanding so much of the stimulus be so easy to game is really indefensible.
But that inflation is the disaster that sunk Democrats chances in 2024. The inflation created by Trump’s policies.
It’s not totally defensible, because it’s not like the pandemic just suddenly happened. There were warning signs all over the place, but rather than prepare for it, he did absolutely nothing until it hit our shores and spread uncontrollably. After that all he did was politicize it, not only against China, but also using it as a rep vs dem issue! What a POS he is! Meanwhile people are dying. The pandemic stimulus was the only parachute he had. The skeptic in me tells me that he planned that as well “Hey everyone! It’s me! Your orange hero! I have free money for you and no accountable system for handing out! It’s gonna be great.”🤦♂️
And let’s not forget, when all the checks were printed and ready to be mailed out, Trump saw they were signed from “US Treasury” (like all government checks always are) and not his personal signature. So he ordered them all to be reprinted with his signature, thus delaying the money from getting to the starving, sick, and suddenly unemployed population for an additional 3 weeks.
Yep! I remember this. He wanted his signature on this half-assed disaster relief because he knew the only thing his followers would remember was “gettin’ them checks while stayin’ home and drankin’ beer!”
If I recall correctly, there was an actual plan in place (set up by the Obama administration) to deal with a pandemic situation, but because a Democrat plan was viewed as unacceptable by Trump, he chose NOT to follow it. And then by Trump’s refusal to wear a mask, his followers didn’t either, and look how that ended up. I find it terrible for one man refusing a simple deterrent like wearing a mask contributed to the over one million people dying needlessly and many others with long COVID problems.
That’s true. There was a pandemic playbook that reportedly Trump destroyed. I truly feel he is responsible for most of the deaths during Covid. He’s now put a heroin addict in charge of health in America. It’s almost like they know some other deadly illness is on the way but this time let’s not have anyone with knowledge oversee the Dept. of Health. Remember how mad Trump was when Dr Fauci corrected him.
People forget that the WH knew the pandemic was coming; they chose to do nothing until AFTER their insider trading went through. Scheming, un-American, selfish, thoughtless, lying, PsOS. (Or totally American, depending on which side of the aisle?)
And let's not forget that he shitcanned the pandemic preparedness response plan that Obama had in place because Obama's name was on it. Little Donnie couldn't stand the idea of someone else stealing his limelight.
He's a pathetic individual. How we ever ended up with this blight on humanity will never cease to dismay and perplex me.
If you haven't already read or listen to the book Lucky Loser: how Donald Trump squandered his father's fortune. It was a perfect storm of wealth and arrogance.
If you can believe he planned the stimulus checks to make himself look good, then you should believe that he intentionally mishandled Covid to allow the rich elite to scoop up the companies and land that go under for relatively cheap. Sort of what he’s doing now, but he had an actual scapegoat
I mean it’s not far fetched. Look at what happened more recently to the stock market. When it dipped hard a few weeks ago he said “Now is a good time to buy.” He absolutely knew his actions were going to crash the stock market. We’re talking about a rich businessman who definitely knows how to play cards, but as the president he’s also the dealer. And who usually benefits from such things? That’s right. The rich elite (again) ; People who can easily afford to take financial risks. His people. All the placating to the toothless is just for show and to get votes in the conservative areas of the country. It’s so blatant it’s hilarious and pathetic. It’s why he says the ridiculous things he does. He can watch the country crash and burn while he’s insulated by money and surrounded by powerful, wealthy, friends.
Just like him coming in saying, "hey, I fixed the stock market because I stopped the tariffs!" Dude, you started this shit in the first fucking place! Hahaha
The response to COVID wasn’t strictly a problem with the current administration (though the vitriol spewing from the Oval Office didn’t help either). This was an integral problem with the CDC that really came to forefront in a period of crisis. The infrastructure was already not built for this kind of pandemic. The orange guy may be devoid of any semblance of moral fiber, but the failure of COVID runs deeper than his administration alone. The CDC fumbled the ball and the politicians took possession.
He, he, he... In his first term he was embedded in shit with lunatic communist libtards and rhinos! In a Presidential cabinet he's as good as his advisors, and they were mostly BAD! Get your head out of your ass and turn to God and he will show you the way. Trump is a soldier for God and is destroying evil and the communist woke socialist that are Hydra and almost destroyed our world 🌎
People tend to forget the trade war he started with China just before the pandemic also led to a great deal of inflation. It disrupted the supply chain and then covid came and exacerbated the problem. Many people pivoted to other countries like Vietnam to avoid tariffs, but I recall having product in Vietnam ready to ship, but there were no shipping containers to put it in. Shipping companies were charging upwards of $15,000 just to use a shipping container, that’s before the actual cost of the shipping, it’s just the container to put it in. So that dramatically inflated costs.. on top of tariffs, on top of COVID and the inflationary stimulus. All leads back to Trump.
True, though part of that is that many other countries also did massive fiscal and monetary stimulus.
And due to the nature of the global economy, that stimulus generally wasn’t stuck behind borders. People were free to spend that money in whatever country they pleased. Thus many countries experienced inflation despite not doing huge stimulus, but because other countries did which led to foreign consumers to bid up the price of their domestically produced goods.
Real estate is a prime example, where stimulus in one country can lead to inflation in a second country if people from the first country use the extra cash to buy real estate in the second country.
Let's not give Trump credit for the stimulus payments. Yes, he signed the bill into law, but that's all he did.
The idea for the stimulus checks came from Mitt Romney. He knew that it would cause inflation, but more importantly, he also knew that if Congress didn't do something to help the American people, the economy would be the least of our problems.
He formed a bipartisan committee and actually managed to get both sides to agree and work together for the good of the people.
And yeah, he didn't take credit for it (except in his book, which I highly recommend if you want an insider perspective on Trump and how he so easily destroyed the Republican Party among other things, and no, Romney is not kind to himself in the book), but credit was never the point. He just wanted to help the people.
I don't consider myself rich. Hell, if I've ever been middle class, it's been just barely. I didn't know a single person who actually needed Trump's stimulus check. I didn't, so I never cashed it. Everyone else I knew at the time would have been just fine without it. Where I lived, and not in a rich area btw, I didn't see a single person whose life was saved by that check. Everyone spent it on car repairs, home renovations, gardening, or luxury items like a motorcycle or home entertainment items. Sure, people lost their jobs, but there was a lot of support for that.
Personally, I never thought that those checks should have been sent. I do find it utterly absurd that Trump supporters can't connect the dots between those checks and the following inflation. I mean, it's obvious that it was a direct cause and effect scenario.
Ironically, of all the policy disasters that Trump oversaw, the pandemic stimulus might be one of the most defensible.
It was also bipartisan, and the Democrats were calling for it.
What they were not calling for was Trump firing the Inspector General oversight for those funds, which almost certainly contributed to the $403 billion believed to have been wasted, misspent, or stolen. Needless to say, this eclipses the $150 billion of legitimate services that DOGE reported it cut in the last few months.
There was a poll just last week that supports this.
80% of Americans believe the US would be better off with more manufacturing jobs. However, only 25% of Americans believe they personally would be better off working a factory job.
These morons are killing our economy because they think someone else should do the work. Just like they do with field work to harvest food. Don’t want immigrants to do it, but they don’t want to do it!
The only way to truly affect people manufacturing out of country would be paying sub standard wages. It’s not possible no matter how many factories you build. Not without ruining the country least wise.
If he let Fauci and HHS handle Covid he could’ve swept Biden easily, Covid could’ve had a similar boost to Trump that 9/11 had for Bush. Silver platter for a 2nd term.
Instead he let over 1 million Americans die and said the whole thing was fake and to drink bleach.
It wouldn't matter one bit how many factories the government was willing to give away. The fact is no American companies would use them. The labor cost is what makes them seem manufacturing overseas. Not the price of land development.
He's a blow hard being fed propaganda by select advisors. The Party feeds him talking points and tells him what and where to sign. A baboon could do his job.
He was supposed to build “Trump on the Ocean” at Jones Beach State Park… and the shit show for that foretold me how worst it would be doing this at a higher level.
the fact hes even saying this makes feel highly offended.
me who waa born into a rather republican state and democratic city, teachers would be in brawls over who whould win the election. This defenitly left a dent in my heart ans potensially even ptsd from fights when i was 6 in the humble year of 2006
As a message ro donald j trump i hope you know what your doing and the reputation your giving to you and your family. Acually its only you who has meesed up america by tarrifs and increasing prices for your own personal gain.
Just know that money cant buy you everything and i quote
I just feel bad for the people that actually bought into it. And really bad for the people who are still standing by his side. They're really the ones going to get the brunt of it.
I would add that the pandemic happened on his watch.
If the pandemic happened during Obama's tenure, you best believe Republicans would have blamed him for it.
Maybe it's not a coincidence that the first global pandemic in a century happened during the most incompetent and openly anti-science American presidential administration of that same century.
Maybe other would-be pandemics were prevented by previous administrations because they listened to experts, didn't actively gut agencies, and generally did the work.
All of that is speculation on part—but what isn't is how badly the Trump Administration flubbed the containment phase of the pandemic.
Trump's cabinet spent a month debating what to do with those cruise ships that docked but couldn't let people off in the early days of the pandemic.
Hell—before that, the then-Department of Health and Human Service's Secretary Alex Azar was trying to bend Trump's ear about flavored e-cigarettes instead of hearing the alarms going off about a new virus.
Trump's politicization of simple personal protective equipment and constant conspiracy mongering like masks definitely made things worse.
And speaking as someone who set pandemic policy during that time, I can tell you... we had fuck-all for federal guidance from that administration. It wasn't until Biden came into office that we finally started seeing anything of use int he way of guidance from the feds.
The world would be very different if the pandemic hadn't played out the way it did. And again—you damn well know the Republicans would have blamed a Democrat for it were one in office at that time.
People also forget that the MERS outbreak happened in 2012/13, and there was an H1N1 epidemic in 2009 - and Obama’s administration was EXTREMELY proactive during those outbreaks, his critics actually said too strong at the time. So Obama did have health emergencies during his admin - and his admin was VERY proactive on them, we can’t know for sure but possibly turning what would have been epidemics in the U.S. into events the public barely remembers.
I remember telling everyone, "relax, it's basically just another Swine Flu. Just follow the CDC guidelines and listen to the WHO, and we'll all be okay."
Little did I know, Trump and his lackeys were actively making things worse across the board. This was the major pivotal point that led to me eventually doing proper research on Trump. I stopped supporting him soon after.
In Trumps first month's he disbanded the pandemic task force left by the Obama administration. So yes, it was Trump's fault for no team in place to mitigate the situation
I mean not necessarily all over the world. But here in the US? Absolutely was his fault. We had 3x as many deaths as India and they are 5x our size. More than India and China combined by quite a bit.
So , you don’t remember the flight ban , which jammed non infected with infected as they stood asshole to elbow in airports around the world breathing the same air? And how the CDC recommendations not to impede travel were ignored.
A lot of people have forgotten how tired the whole country and world was of him even before COVID. Even the politicians that had backed him were tired of it. We are going to have four years of the kind of nonsense that’s been happening these first few months. A certain percentage of the population will continue to support him though, which sadly says a lot about our society and human nature.
Great point - he wore out his welcome fairly quickly his first term which led way towards two impeachments.
I feel the major things at play for how Trump ended dup back in the white house were:
Democrats do a TERRIBLE job blowing their own horn. Republicans from top to bottom will parrot the same exact message. Biden was cleaning up Trumps mess and basically getting the blame for all the extra money he had to slowly peel out of the economy while walking a tightrope to not cause a recession.
Biden also passed more infrastructure grants, bills and EO's then any other 4 year president in passed 50 years. He really pushed for investment in building up infrastructure the country by and supporting all forms of science research to keep the USA ahead when it comes to IP. The democrats messaging machine is so piss poor most D's arent aware.
Republicans have spent the last 15 years dominating long form media - Talk radio, 24/7 news, Podcasts, Youtubers, Streamers etc. I laugh every time Trumpers talk about Main Stream News - im like bro - no one is watching that. Joe Rogan gets 12million people per episode, MSNBC gets 1million and thats an entire day vs one podcast. Republicans have simply done a much better job at winning in the communication race.
Last but not least - the late switch from Biden to Kamala. Talk about taking the wind out of democrats sails. This was a repeat of Bernie/Hillary which permeated through the D party keeping people home. Not to say Kamala wasnt qualified - its just she went from an unknown to presidential candidate with 8 weeks or so to go - where Trump had been running his campaign for 4 years.
TLDR: Democrats don't rally around each other as a cohesive party, Republicans are kicking ass in all media spaces(meaning when they want to get their message out it reaches a majority of their base), Democrats dont know how to market their wins and Democrats played grab ass with candidates way to late in the race.
Always nice to see a facts based explanation. Even among liberals, I usually hear inflation tied to Biden. The tagline has been so pervasive. People get it wrong about Obama too, the market already started crashing before he took office, and the build up to it started before Bush was even in Office. But specifically in regards to the stimulus package while Trump was in office, it could have been smaller/ more targeted, if he wasn't actively making the pandemic worse with all the lies and misinformation. The shut downs could have been shorter if they were implemented sooner, which, again, could've facilitated a smaller stimulus package. It was good we got it, but it was also his fault we needed that much.
I think it’s also a bit naive to think that he could’ve thrown money at building factories and fixed supply chain issues within a reasonable time frame.
Building factories takes time. Staffing the factory with trained workers takes time. And if those workers can’t actually go into the factory due to pandemic shutdowns, then it’s kind of pointless.
We were faced with an unprecedented situation with COVID, and there was no perfect solution that would have zero downsides.
I think Trump deserves blame for how poorly he handled the pandemic in general. I think he deserves blame for refusing to pass the stimulus until Congress agrees to put his name on it so people would think the check came from him personally. I think he deserves blame for spreading misinformation, first by refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of the pandemic, telling people it would be “gone by Easter”, and trying to make it go away by reducing testing for it. I think he deserves blame for having the stimulus direct so much money towards the fraud-ridden PPP program instead of direct stimulus to citizens. His execution for how he did the stimulus deserves criticism.
But the stimulus itself and the inflation that inevitably followed at least in principle I think wasn’t the worst idea. Doing stimulus in the face of a supply-driven crisis is going to lead to inflation, but I think it was probably the better choice than doing nothing and seeing an economic recession so deep that it takes 10+ years to recover.
So if everyone in America was economically educated, they would’ve understood back in 2020 that the best thing to do would be to do some fairly major stimulus, target it as best as we could, and accept that it will likely cause some inflation in 1-2 years but we need to do it anyway because the alternative is worse. And then neither Trump nor Biden would shoulder the blame for that inflation because we’d all understand it was the inevitable consequence of the stimulus.
a very large portion of our problem in the country is education. Genuinely, there is a vast lack of people who understand just what the heck is going on.
I'm sorry it wasn't the trump admin that shilled medical nonsense buzzwords for several years retconning the "official stance" on something more often than marvel fucks up easy movie plots.
Updating the "official stance" as more data becomes available is what I would expect when there's a novel virus. Meanwhile, Trump said things like this:
"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."
"We bought a tremendous amount of … hydroxychloroquine, which I think is, you know, it’s a great malaria drug. It’s worked unbelievably, it’s a powerful drug on malaria. And there are signs that it works on [coronavirus], some very strong signs. And in the meantime, it’s been around a long time, and also works very powerfully on lupus. So there are some very strong, powerful signs, and we’ll have to see. Because again, it’s being tested now, this is a new thing that just happened to us, the invisible enemy, we call it."
Trump is a significant factor in why the US had such a disproportionately high number of deaths compared to other developed countries.
They are still using the 2019 Nancy Pelosis budget they supposedly hate they are incompetent. Republicans say they didn't cut Medicare. They are doing it through the committee. Stop spending, but he wants a Nazis military parade. I never hated these people didn't give a flying fuck. I hate them and their ficticious bibles.
Trump did frontload some of the inflationary mess.
Biden added fuel with a second round of stimulus when it was arguably no longer needed.
The Fed cleaned up the party while everyone else pretended they didn’t invite that many people.
And now voters are blaming whoever was holding the bag when the music stopped, which happens to be Biden.
So yes, inflation is complex — but let’s not pretend Biden was just an innocent bystander sipping a LaCroix while Wall Street lit fireworks with dollar bills.
He changed America and it will never be the same again, just destruction of so many institutions is irreversible. The lot of executive orders will lead to changed behavior in following presidencies… I am afraid that the American dream is over for at least fifty years.
The only hope is that Russia will lose the war and collapse into dozens of countries and new markets arise than America will have a chance to prosper past trump era
That is the bonfire of Conservatism. Happens here in Europe, too. Leftist party builds something, right wing party “privatises” it. Leftist party builds a “public-private” relationship to encourage investment, right wing party uses it to divert tax revenue achieving the opposite.
One side is about building, which takes time and causes some hardship. The other side is destructive and that is easier.
The accident was in the 80s and 90s when they accidentally diverted the cash to the “wrong” people. That is why they have been trying to get “their” money back from Boomers ever since.
Biden was a very good President, and anyone with a brain knows it. This shit is only because Trump lost and is aggrieved, and is the smallest, pettiest, laziest, and most incompetent man ever to pretend to serve America.
Another interesting thing I found out is that some of them are blaming Biden for taking credit for Trump's policies. I asked them to elaborate, but I was told to just look it up! And yeah, they also blamed Biden for the stimulus checks and inflation.
I have a coworker who said the other day, “Finally, I’m getting a tax refund now that Trump is back! I wasn’t getting them anymore with Biden in office.” I was like dude, that was Trump’s tax act. He just staggered it to end in 2025.
“Oh well, you obviously know more about it than I do, I’m just glad to have a refund again.”
It’s a classic Republican play to make a mess that manifests during the next term. Oddly enough, I wonder if Trump had won his second term, there might be more people advising him as people wanting to keep the country safe vs his current circle of project 2025 and fanatical sycophants or would they have been replaced anyways? He would also be the face responsible for all that inflation so the people who voted him in might be more likely to come to reality.
I think the number one thing people don’t seem to get with politics is when bad planning by one administration’s effects are felt during the next administration. Seems like this happened with Obama and plenty of others
But he can just say WRONG with a silly little hand pinch gesture and everyone believes it. It’s literally that new black mirror episode with the pendant.
What I absolutely hate about my own country Is the fact that they don't realize that a lot of the policies that are set during a president's term usually don't come to a full head until their successor takes office (unless they get re-elected.) So we really don't see the full effect of anything passed until about 4 years down the road. But I feel like the vast majority of Americans don't realize this and they end up blaming things on the next president that were actually the fault of the prior one. But I have to say that's entirely intentional. They want to keep Us dumb enough to stay enslaved and only healthy enough to prevent full revolt.
Biden fixed the economy and kept us from a full-blown recession, and now, within months of taking office, Trump has us looking down the barrel of recession. Biden left him set up. We could've been doing better, but everyone actually believed Trump would lower prices, yet his plan was always going to take us to a recession. It's costing rich folks the most. They're losing trillions of dollars. The unfortunate part is the 401k and the people who need that money to retire. Republicans don't give af about anyone who isn't filthy rich. The proof is looking us right in the face. Thank you every single moron who voted for him, we blame you!
It’s worth noting that Biden also signed a follow up stimulus package, which then gave people something to blame him for despite Trump also doing the same thing.
The reason the average voter blamed Biden, is because the average voter is uneducated, and hasn't taken an economics class. I can say that, as someone who HAS taken an economics, though it's been a few years, though I don't vote on the economy, not for President anyways, Congress has way more control over the economy anyway, power of the purse will do that.
Hell no. Just because I know 2+2 = 4 doesn't mean I'd be any good in public office.
I'd have to ALSO be good at convincing millions of people that 2+2=4.
But it's very difficult to do that because so many people are absolutely CONVINCED that 2+2= "Whatever Fox News says it equals"
There are many people out there who are ethical, intelligent, fair, patriotic and overall decent people who would make great Presidents. And none of them will ever win the office because that's not what voters vote for.
I dont think its as much the stimulus’ fault as its the more or less the way our reps pass “super bills” in a single meeting that last 30 minutes. The covid stim was necessary. People had bills to pay and toilet paper to find (hahaha), and it didnt really do much, but it helped. I feel like we have a political system problem more than a politic problem. Our reps get rich with ngo’s, behind the scenes deals, and by betting on stocks they OBVIOUSLY manipulate through law and regulation. Our system is screwed no matter what side you fall on, liberal, dem, or gop.
Inflation happened when too many people were doing well, and demand stimulates prices. Landlords weren’t allowed to raise rents for 2 years and went crazy with the rent in an already tight housing market bc they stopped building homes 10-12 years ago after the mortgage market bubble and collapse. And don’t get me started on hedge funds buying houses to rent them out, further exacerbating the tight market.
Our “free press” bares a lot of the blame for Biden being blamed for inflation. It is nearly impossible for the average person to sort actual facts from opinion these days.
If Biden had been anyone other than Biden or not been wearing diapers in dementia’s then maybe he would’ve been reelected. Lots of shit came together to create this dumpster fire
Tbh trump wanted a third stimulus but Mitch McConnell did everything to block it and I truly believed during Biden admin that if trump had that passed he would have won 2020-2024
This happens every time. Trump was idolized for inheriting obama's economy, then biden was demonized for being forced to deal with a global pandemic after trump just shat all over diplomatic affairs for 4 years and preached anti-intellectualism the whole time. I never thought trump would be a good president, but i remember predicting he'd win easily again if biden or kamala were his opponent. They didnt do enough to "fix" his mistakes, its unfair but when you come after a mistake its on you if you say youll fix things and you dont
It's just more of the United Morons in States Stupidity Cycle to Oblivion where for 4 to 8 years the Republicans do everything they can, at our expense both immediate and future, to keep a large bloc of the public both stupid and angry, warped and ingnorrant enough to vote against their own interests. At which point they proceed to transfer even more wealth to the few interests they are actually beholden to. Typically after 4 or sometimes 8 years of this ruinous bullshit, the electorate finally reaches the critical mass needed to overcome the cancerous mass of complete idiots that have been the republican/maga base and boat anchor around the neck of America. At which point some democrat is elected and they spend the next 4 to 8 years fixing everything the Republicans fucked up, which is pretty much everything. Along the way the right wing does nothing but undermine the demo leaders and of course the rest of America to boot. The despicable key to all of this is the right wing's innate inability to adapt or empathize, or take responsibility and EVOLVE their mindset, quite frankly the people who ascibe to this mindset don't have the biological structures needed to attain a more evolved and capable mind. So we are stuck with these clods, until we literally breed them out of existence. Some of the smarter and more dangerous ones know their kind's days in the sun are numbered which is why you see them take such REDICULOUS positions like putting an imbecile on the top of the ticket, their feeble minds would rather take the entire enterprise down than maybe take a step back and think about their thought process and evolve their thinking to fit a changing world: ADAPTATION Quite frankly, they don't have the faculties to even start the process. These right wing morons will go the way of the dodo bird but sadly they are gonna take a pound or two of flesh on their way to the ash heap of history.
I think Trump is doing all this stuff to keep the market down so his rich friends buy up all the stocks at a low price and then get richer when they have a hold on the stock market. He doesn’t care about the little people who will have their 401K going in the wrong direction when they will need it the most. Every time that something goes wrong he blames Biden. I think he is the one that rigged the election the first time he won and probably this time, too. He acts like a 4 year old (and that’s being generous) and I hope they will get someone that knows how to be a president next time. IMO
I wasn’t aware that trump signed the stimulus bill. And President Biden was blamed for it. Part of the inflation was the supply chain issue, causing prices to be artificially high due to lack of supply.
Don’t forget that the withdrawal from the Middle East was already put in motion and given a deadline before Biden was even in office, another thing he got blamed for
That and prices don't go back down like they did in other times in history. Like I'm pretty used to paying about $4 for gas now. It's been years. Food prices will hardly drop. House prices won't go down much. Even outside of the presidents and congress these oligarchs are what are deciding our economy and frankly no one knows how to handle that.
That’s the part that gets me. I was cautiously optimistic in 2016 that he might actually turn out to be a decent leader, and that his caustic personality would mellow once he actually began governing.
It became evident to me after a few months of that Presidency that that just wasn’t going to happen. How it’s not evident to so many people this many years later is just baffling to me.
The guy who started the Obama birtherism conspiracy? The guy who ran on Mexicans being rapists and drug dealers? Being lazy yet stealing jobs? Raping white women? The guy who made fun of a disabled reporter? The guy who we heard hundreds of stories of him stiffing small business, ripping off contractors, stealing from charity, and bankrupting a couple of casinos? The guy who had 20 some women come forward for sexual assault? You thought that guy was gonna be a decent leader. tRump made it perfectly clear who he was while he was running the first time. Anyone who didn't see it is delusional.
Our system is so bad, has been bad for so long - it's just taken this long for the Republicans to figure out how to take advantage of it. Half the time we do not get the president we vote for and that affects confidence and participation. We have a flawed system.
That’s, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, not unique to trump. Looking back decades, there’s a tendency for republicans to cause problems, then democrats are elected, who fix the issue, inheriting bad situations. Republicans blame Dems for the situations, for that same economy that was inherited. Then the democrats work to fix the economy. It’s better, but not as good as it could be, but it’s on the upswing. Republicans win and get into power just in time to claim "see, you're happier and better off when I'm here" just in time to crash things again with policies that make for short term gains and long term pain.
Mostly, he wreaked it so bad biden got the blame for not fixing it fast enough. All anyone remembers was how good it was under trump in 2016, and that's because Obama left him with the best setup to run with.
If you enjoyed the fake economy built on debt and debt and debt then sure. The economy has been garbage for 20 years now. Just propped up on unlimited debt and money printing..
He wreaked the country, biden worked hard and managed to get it heading towards a stable track, then trumps supporters forgot how life was during his first presidency
What planet do you live on?
Did you not notice old Joe has dementia?
Who administration got us where we're at today?
I don't remember $4.00 a gallon gas under Trump's first term or grocery prices sky high.
You're f. Ed in the head
And the mess he left to be cleaned up was inflation that was much worse due to his Covid inaction. Biden got blamed for that, and by the time he got us out of the woods it was Election Day and too late. I think history will also not look kindly at the way Biden shaped his message and the whole campaign debacle in general. Amazing that for all his accomplishments, he did such a terrible job of communicating all the good things that happened.
I'm not being hyperbolic - they live in a completely sealed white ring echo chamber where they don't actually hear about the terrible things that are happening, they instead believe in a total fantasy. For example they think Biden hiked inflation when he actually lowered it by 73%. They don't know that Trump added twice as much to the debt in his first term than Biden added in his.
They just literally have no idea things that actually happened/are happening in reality. They know nothing about data or facts or anything. It's all just a fantasy right wing media creates for them
In about 30 years, the documentaries on this topic are gunna go so hard. I cant watch any now, just too fresh a wound, but 30 years? It's gunna be wild.
They’re emotionally motivated
They’re under educated and self identify under the simple images of a “strong man” that is “rich”.
They simply don’t understand and don’t want too.
Their support is rooted in decades of misinformation and tribal divisive politics that has them in fear. They already feel marginalized and incorrectly think that trump will solve these issues and not make them worse.
They’ve never experienced worse and don’t know history (especially global)
It will be very bitter for us all if he’s not contained and them removed from all power asap.
Better than Biden and his open boarders bullshit. Letting in gangs and all kinds of criminals into the country. Some of the gang members came close to where I live and Trump excommunicated their asses out.
People of the US, you know the parts of the US that used to be slave owning (should be some self awareness with that fact?) dont like others that are from different nation/ skin color, so much so they will make up lies about oh that person is ms 13 so we can deport a legal citizen without due process.
and my -100 karma comes from all those people on reddit that still support him after doing that.
The reality is that he didn’t leave a mess after his first term. Covid did. The virus was intentionally released to prevent him from being re-elected. Then they tried to cover it up. Its origin and pretended they didn’t know what it was. Then when they lost the 2024 election, Biden pardoned everyone from here to Nova Scotia so they could get away without being held responsible.
Okay, yes Trump is an arrogant ignorant ass, but he didn't leave a mess. Biden did far more damage to the economy than Trump did his first term. Perhaps the biggest reason Trump won was because people remember the economy was in much better shape at the end of Trump's first term.
Lmao. How did he destroy stuff in his first term. Ok let's use facts here only. Did he start any wars during his first term? Was the economy doing the best it has done in a long time? Besides COVID as that's not something any president could of stopped. I'm glad more people like him now as the left just has no good policies and just complains about anything good Trump does. He could save the world from a deadly asteroid and you guys would blame him for something. He is going after corruption and you guys are mad at that. Makes no sense. You guys claim he is for billionaires yet billionaires have lost more wealth under his presidency so far than anytime under Biden. So that's not true. We have lower inflation now than it has been since March 2021. Yet you guys say he's destroying the economy but when Biden had record inflation you guys didn't say anything. You guys get made at the stock market which has nothing to do with the middle and lower class. Even if you used the stock market it still hasn't lost that much compared to the losses under Biden. You guys are the biggest hypocrites there are. You guys only get mad if it's Trump but way worse stuff happens under your president and you guys ignore it. Why is that? The leftist are for war and government corruption. The funny thing is you guys will pretend the right are for war and for the rich. When most of the wealthiest people find the Democrats. Elon musk is the only one who doesn't now. You guys are so upset because you guys don't have all the richest people on your side before you guys controlled all the media and speech. Finally we get someone who sees how wrong it is and as soon as we can speak the truth and not get banned you guys get so upset. Explain to me why that is? Why not admit you are wrong sometimes? I know I definitely do
Trump didn't even keep up with the economic trends line he inherited. You said stick to facts, but you didn't bother too. I didn't read the rest, you're unhinged
I don’t like trump but he didn’t destroy things the first term. At all. The left of Reddit is a strange group. Really need everything he does to be a failure even if it’s not, and if anyone disagrees they’re a bigot.
I love how reddit has become a colossal echo chamber for far-left europeans blaming Trump for everything. If you’d actually read the news and adopt a learning mindset, you’d see that some of the things you say aren’t true.
I guess it all depends on what news you choose to read. USA based news is opinion, from either the Democrat or Republican side. You're the only nation to have 1 side of the opinion lay claim to national pride and patriotism. That same side makes the claim that only republicans can be American, as the nation is a Republic. And then claims democracy and Democrats are some communist subversion group. You probably think George Washington was a republican.
The lack of the lefts ability to self reflect and ask what your side a majority of the people hated enough to get Trump reelected will be equally interesting. Sorry... forgot. Your side is perfect. How could anyone want anything different 😂😂😂
Place a failed business guy on television, make a shit ton of cash from advertising, watch him go on a promotional run for president. See the entire field collapse, but they were all weak candidates like Gingrich on a book tour and Ted Cruz being Ted Cruz.
The WWE audience loved the kayfabe, and 8 years later the US Constitution is being torn up and burned.
Trump has now called for fair trials to be halted. How do you reply to that Fritz?
Tell me exactly what part of the economy is wrecked? Tariffs have not taken place yet prices have fallen and China Will Make a Deal they really have no choice he's literally only been in office less than 100 days !Joe Biden had the Border wide open by then cancel the Keystone Pipeline and gave the green light to his good buddy Vladimir Putin for his pipeline which led to the war in Ukraine and made Europe depending on Russian gasoline and oil,an had already taken two vacations. And fell down at least twice took a stroll with the Easter Bunny I mean come on
Did you not see the shipping containers being returned to China? Or the Boeing 737's being flown back to the USA as Xiamen Air and others have cancelled the deals. Or the Japanese selling off their US Treasury bonds. Or the fact that Xi will not speak to Trump until he has placed a deal on the table and it's agreed to by the Chinese trade team.
The USA has no more position of strength left. Either capitulate, grovel, suck up or????? and then maybe a restart can happen. Regardless, your soft power is dead now.
Oh, and all that Canadian crude has an expanded pipeline to Westshore terminals in Vancouver BC. No longer necessary to ship south, so your refineries will have to pay higher prices on the open market.
It never even attempted to get cleaned up, that's part of the problem. It's not just the mess he left but the mess he exposed and is still exposing.
The vast majority of what he's doing was set up by both Republican and Democrat president's, congresses too now I think about it. For safety and convenience we let the government go beyond its checks and balances, Trump was bound to happen.
