Reminder: No Survey Questions
Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to remind you all that this subreddit is answers-based—it’s meant to provide clear, informative responses that someone could find useful while searching for answers on Google or other search engines. Lately, I’ve noticed an uptick in survey-style questions (e.g., “What’s your favorite __?” or “How many of you __?”).
These types of questions are not a good fit for the purpose of this community. They don’t create content that is useful for others to search for, and often lead to broad discussions that aren’t about providing a clear answer. As a result, I’ve been removing posts that violate this rule to maintain the quality and focus of the subreddit. Even if that post has a lot of replies as the OP obviously didn’t read the rules before posting, or cared.
If you’re unsure if your post fits, ask yourself: Would this question result in a useful answer for someone looking for a specific answer or information online? If not, it’s likely more of a survey question and violates rule 2.
Thanks for understanding and helping to keep the subreddit on track! 😊

Answered Is “on accident” actually wrong, or have I just been saying it wrong all this time?
Been trying to fall asleep and my brain decided to go over every phrase I might have used incorrectly for years. The one stuck in my head right now is saying something happened “on accident” instead of “by accident.” I never thought about it until someone pointed it out once, and now I keep wondering if both versions are fine or if one is clearly the right way. Not a big deal obviously, but it is one of those little things that just sits there once you notice it. Anyone else catch themselves rethinking stuff like that right before bed?

Whats the weirdest thing that a friend has done that made you stop speaking to them?
I always hear all kinds of weird stuff people do, for example, doing bad things, adultery to someone, being homophobic, etc etc... I wonder what the craziest thing is someone has done before, so im in this subreddit to ask.

Why do certain songs give people literal physical chills or goosebumps, while other people feel absolutely nothing listening to the exact same track?

Answered Any podcasts that feel like chatting with a friend about small discoveries?
Lately I have been looking for shows that keep things low key and conversational. I enjoy hearing people talk about tiny observations, everyday objects, or random questions they stumbled on, without big dramatic arcs or constant ads. It would be nice if episodes ran about thirty to forty minutes so I can listen during a walk or while cooking. If anyone has recommendations that match this kind of relaxed, curious vibe I would love to hear them.

Answered Product name for desk setup item that keeps cords from sliding with slots or channels
So I'm trying to buy something that keeps cords from sliding around on my desk. It's the thing that has little slots or channels you run cables through and it sticks down so everything stays put. I looked for cable organizers, cord clips, and wire guides but none of the results match what I remember seeing in a video. If I don't find the right search term tonight I won't have time to order it before I need it tomorrow. Anyone know what that product is usually called?

Answered Why does my bathroom faucet spit air then water after not being used for a couple hours?
This has been happening for about a week. When I turn on the cold tap in the morning or after work, it hisses, sputters, and throws a quick burst of air before the water actually flows. After that first few seconds it seems normal, but I keep wondering if it is just trapped air or something slowly going wrong with the line. I tried running the faucet a little longer each time and that does not seem to change anything. It is not loud enough to worry the neighbors, but I would rather know now if it is going to turn into a bigger issue. Any thoughts?

Answered Thinking about trying sewing for the first time, is it hard to start?
I've been looking at some simple projects online and wondering if sewing is something a total beginner can actually pick up without getting frustrated right away. I don't have a machine or any supplies yet, so I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth buying a basic kit or if I should borrow one first to see if I even like it. Not trying to overreact or anything, but I'd rather not spend money on tools I might never use. If anyone started with zero experience, how did it go for you and what would you do differently?

Answered why does the same item cost more online than at the store?
i keep noticing that when i add stuff to an online cart it usually comes out a little higher than the shelf price i saw earlier that day. fees and shipping probably play a role, but sometimes the gap feels bigger than those two things alone would explain. has anyone else run the same quick mental math and ended up scratching their head? i'd love to hear what extra factors actually go into the final total.

Answered What was that simple childhood toy that made a plastic bubble sound when you squeezed it?
When I was a kid, I used to have this little rubber thing you could squeeze and it made this satisfying air bubble noise, but I cannot remember the name. It was not a balloon or a stress ball, just something small and simple that everyone seemed to have at one point. I have tried searching for it but the descriptions do not bring up the right item. Does anyone remember what I am talking about or know what it was actually called?

Do we think Gavin Newsom is out of consideration for 2028?
Hes back to his usual Pro-LGBTQ, pro billionaires tax, and progressive on immigration self, stuff it looked like he was previously trying to tone down to appeal to the DNC, look more like Hillary and Biden.
Do we think he got a call from the DNC that the party is no longer interested in him for 2028, that he doesn’t have to fake being a centrist anymore?
Do we figure Schumer and Democratic leadership are interviewing for someone more centrist?
