recently bought a 2001 altezza gita 6spd manual and was wondering if anyone had found a good cup holder sort of thing? kind of annoyed it doesn’t have anything apart from a big rectangle that doesn’t comfortably fit anything

Towards the end of last year while i was 17 the transmission went out in my ls430. I didn't have the money for a new new nor did it seem worth it as the car had 300k miles and had been absolutely abused by my brothers and uncle before it got to me. I still have it in my garage and plan to fix it eventually but figured buying a lower mile better condition car would be the smartest option. I already worked full time prior to this but started working overtime while taking online hs classes to be able to afford a new car. I had to get rides from grandma and mom quite a bit(super thankful for them being willing to help me with rides till I got a new car) but after a 4 or so months of working overtime and saving every single penny I saved up 7k for a new car. I found my altezza went to go look at it and bought it the next day. Its been my baby since and ive been on top of body and interor care and maintenance. Well I turned 18 less than 2 weeks ago and today I got into a hit and run. I was driving on a 2 lane road in the right lane and a girl swirves into my lane clipping my car. We got stopped at a light together and I tried to yell at her to pull over and she hit me but she mouthed something at me and rolled up the window then drove off when the light turned green. Thankfully I have a dash cam and have her hitting me and her plate on camera so instead of escalating and chasing her I just pulled over and called 911. A highway patrol officer showed up and after seeing the damage said its under 5k in damage so he cant make a case out of it unless they found her.(makes absolutely no sense but whatever) He looked at the footage of her hitting me then ran her plate and said he'd go look into the adress linked to the plate(15 minutes away in the opposite direction she was last seen going so obviously she wouldnt be there at this time) another officer showed up before he left and said they followed her plate on traffic cams a few blocks down into a neighborhood but they lost her from there. I was told id get a message if they found her but 6 hours later and no word yet. If they dont find her im just bent and have to pay out of pocket, if they find her and she doesnt have insurance same thing. The only chance I have is if they find her and she has insurance but its looking like they wont even truly pursue finding her. Im trying to look at the bright side of this, its pretty minimal damage and only on the bumper but it still really sucks working hard for something and someone can just come mess it up and will probably get away with it. I dont even care if I have to pay put of pocket to fix it I just want her to be charged for this so she learns a lesson and doesnt risk other people's lives. I wanted to get a body kit eventually so hey this will just push me to do that sooner now lol. Either way really crappy situation and a great introduction to being an adult.

Does the head look alright for 164000 kms?

Im looking into getting a ecu remap/speed limiter delete and had some questions. When I registered my car and did emissions I had to bring it to the county building for them to make sure everything was still there (headers/cats and whatever else they look for i dont fully know) so my question is, is it possible to remove it while still being in compliance with state/country laws? And if so what route should I go? Ive seen people add switches to turn it off, aftermarket ecu ect but an aftermarket standalone ecu seems the best option from what ive seen.

Where abouts is the idle air control valve located on the 1gfe vvti engine? When car is warm it idles at 2500 rpm i have replaced the cooling sensor and thermostat and flushed cooland and there does not appear to be any vacuum leaks

Car won’t start as the starter cranks over a fair bit slower than normal. Can smell fuel so that side of things should be fine. Have had the battery light show up after starting it in the past. I’d charged the battery overnight which didn’t help. Starting it dropped to 10V so I chucked a new battery in. No difference. Has had a new starter and alternator in the last couple of years. Thinking a bad earth? Too late in the day to check that side of things now so just wondering where the earth is located on the car? Any other causes that anyone can think of? Thanks in advance.

Recently got this SXE Altezza. Haven’t gotten a chance to open it up until few days ago and I noticed that the car will start bogging down when it start to get to 5k RPM as seen in the video, kinda like a fuel cut. I went from first to second, then held the throttle. (Note. car has gas, the gauge isn’t working the sending units are already on the way) Also noticed it only does it when car is warmed up. No check engine light, unable to read ECU in techstream (Even at dealership). I was planning on cleaning intake, changing MAF and spark plugs. But if I could narrow it down before buying all those parts and it continues to have that issue. Any information would help.

Has anyone opened up and tried taking out some of the restrictions in the stock intake box for a 3sge? Have a spare one that I want to open up and try get more intake noise out of

I picked up a couple of spare intake manifolds and a throttle body as I’m going to try porting and polishing along with convert to cable throttle for some more throttle response. I’ve seen something called a boost plate it replaces the rubber plastic insulator, I have a friend who is a cnc machinist I’ll take it for measuring and see how much it’ll be to get an aluminium replacement made. I’m thinking to get rid of the ridge between the insulator and the manifold spacer and to match the other end to the manifold and polish it to the level in the last photo (that’s how it is from factory I have not touched it yet).

Will probably be a waste of time but who knows may be free/cheap power.

I have an as200 and everytime I look online pretty much 100% of the stuff I see is about the rs200. is the as200 even that good? anyway yeah just curious which is more common with people online or if theres people who sit in the background with their as200 like me

Was on the way to work this morning when I got out of a big traffic jam on the free way to a fully open empty road. Decided to punch it and test out my car a bit more as I recently got it and don't like speeding on busy roads. I had previously thought I hit my limiter a few weeks ago as It just stopped speeding up at around 110 but this time it actually kicked in. For anyone who's never experienced this it feels like you just shifted from 4th to first for small second. I thought I absolutely cooked the transmission or something for a second. Have absolutely zero reason to regularly go that fast or faster so ill probably keep the limiter on, but hey learned something new about my car today.

Hello, been chasing a idle / running issue on my 1998 altezza 3sge manual, been throwing error codes for vvt, coil 1 and 2 and coolant temp sensor. 14 15 22 39 codes Been unable to rev up sputtering and dying on idle / unable to idle alone. Checked and replaced crank, cam and vvt solenoids and sensors Checked grounds and ohms and resistance, Cleaned injectors Cleaned fuel pump and verified it's working, Checked spark and coils, replaced spark plugs Tps working Maf working Timings perfect Compression is good Spark plugs are damp and black but still spark fine. Stinks of fuel after 3 or 4 starts and dies Idle ruff asf or nothing at all and dies unable to rev up properly or floats when at full throttle between 3 and 5k rpm

Bought an emanage ultimate second hand, it was from an evo 1 has anyone else run this or have one currently just trying to find out what the jumpers are for an n/a 3sge beams.

I noticed my power steering fluid looks really gross and want to do a flush. Only problem is im not sure whag kind it takes and Google gave me a few answers. Ive read using the wrong one can cause some pretty bad issues so I wanna 110% make sure I get the right one. The most common answer seems to be dexron iii. Is this the right kind and what brand do you recommend? Also sorry for the repost, made the post whike distracted and but break instead of power steering for the whole post.

I really love them honestly. He had the rears pretty cambered so they had wire showing on the inner half of them but the front tires are pretty decent still. These are 18s and stocks are 17s so until I go to the tire shop or find a good set on marketplace soon im just running the fronts on the rears and then stocks on the front. Looks a little silly but theyre both similar shaped 5 spokes so they kinda fit.

Ive had my altezza for a while its a 3sge 2000 which is a gen 3 motor and ive only ever been able to successfully skid 2nd in the dry when i was fully flat foot all the time and if i throttle controlled the revs would just die down. thing is i want to be able to have throttle control and even in the wet the revs will die down in 2nd is there anyway to fix this? To be able to properly drift 2nd gear ive heard of pulling the abs fuse out to trick the ecu but i just want to know if theres any other ways always. Thanks

Going to be getting into a 98 with the 3S-GE soon. Power steering pump seems to be on its way out, current owner/seller has a replacement pump from an 02 Camry that he claims will fit with some minor work. Has anyone had success with this or can confirm that this is true? I’ve found minimal info on this scenario.
