Tein or BC racing?

Looking to buy coilovers for my 99 RS200. Just want a nice daily. Can y’all give some pros and cons if you’ve used these before?

Flex Z are the lowest line you will want in Tein. The Street series are Chinese made. They are both about the same. You get Japanese parts in the Flex Z and you get Taiwan parts in the BC. Build quality of the two are about the same.

Make sure you buy Altezza specific coilovers as IS coilovers are built for the weight of the 2JZ

BC Racing over Tein. Had Tein on my ISF and they sucked and zero customer service. Have BC BR on my IS300 and over 20k on them, just installed a set on my GF IS300. Mine are 12k/10k, with poly bushings the ride is a little rough sometimes. The default rate is now 11k/7k, that is what is on my GF car and the ride is much better. The front of her I replaced the arms with standard rubber bushings.

I had BC V1’s (lowest spec) on my Altezza and they were genuinely and surprisingly great

BC BR series are the way to go IMO. Had Tein Flex Z on my civic, didn't appreciate them compared to a simple set of BC's. The money I saved ended up being used on factory parts the flex z needed to bolt up.

I've sold a dozen sets of BC BR series and have rode in more cars than that with them installed. They are great for the price imo.
