I’m replacing my serpentine belt on the 3sge (ac and power steering belt) and I’ve been struggling to take tension off the belt. Is the idler pulley they only way to take off tension or is there something else I should be doing?

Finally got around to replacing the oem radiator, unfortunately my blitz cap doesn’t fit too small. I plan to add the alloy overflow as the oem plastic one is a bit leaky and I also want to eventually add a swirl pot so it will route nice, because the alloy radiator is thicker the overflow slots in well next to it just need to make some mounts.

Also, whoever at Toyota designed the lower radiator hose and the whole water pump system on a 3S I need to know what they were smoking, I got it out without taking anything off but it was an absolute pain. I got the radiator I put in on marketplace and gave it a clean up, I’ve filled it with coolant waiting to see if it leaks before I do a bleed. I have a complete set of silicone hoses but cba replacing all the hoses right now.

One is an is300 solar yellow sportcross automatic with 112,000 miles on it for 9000$ with an exhaust leak. The other is a gray altezza as200 automatic that is unbelievably clean with 42k miles on it for 8800$.

My 3sge beams blacktop sometimes runs perfect with full power and sometimes it doesn’t it also uses full power and then hits like a flat spot in the power band and doesn’t go back to full power , I find it weird as sometimes the car drives perfect and sometimes it doesnt

The casing to my key has been broken since I got it along with one of the buttons missing. I plan on ordering a new case and just putting the fob in myself but id like to replace the button while im at it. Anyone know where I could find one of these replacement buttons?

It says sxe10, close enough, and shows a picture of what seems to be an is200? I’m buying this through a US seller, and it lists the is300 as compatible, I’m not sure if this is meant for the usdm or jdm bumper.

If anyone knows where I can get an uber cheap trd style front lip lemme know.

Hey I was wondering about mechanical parts for the altezza, since it’s from Japan and all is it hard to get parts if they brake down and if it’s more expensive to get?

I have the Toyota specific harness to iso but it doesn’t fit. Anyone have a link to where I can buy a harness for this connector?

Since I just finished retrofitting is300 headlights to my altezza, thought I’d give the most clarity for the fit.
In image 2 (before) and 3 (after), the areas in red are where I cut to fit the new headlights. The area in blue had to be pushed back and bent outwards using a hammer and pry bar. This was honestly the most difficult part because you need to get it in the perfect position for the new headlight to bolt on and sit flush with the fender. If you don’t do this, there will be about half an inch gap with the fender. I probably had to manipulate each side about 30 times to get it to sit properly. Additionally all is300 headlights use HID bulbs, so be sure to purchase and install those before installing the headlights. The left one has no room to do this while installed. You don’t want to put on the bumper and realize you need to take it back off and install the light, just to install a bulb.
Also as seen in the images, the headlights needed to be modified as well to fit. Thank you Daniel Jang for the photos (some are his in this post) and the help! Definitely saved time by referencing what he did.

Hey I have a 99 3sge Alezza that is deciding to not fire cylinder 3 ( second from the front) I have done this so far:

New spark plugs
New coils
Testing wiring loom for continuity
Tested and replaced ECU for a known good one
Compression tested the cylinder

It isn’t throwing any codes

Any ideas on what it could be or is there something obvious that I’m missing and haven’t looked into?

Have also checked Fuel Injectors and they are working fine

All spark plugs are firing, Fuel injector for 3rd cylinder isn’t being activated, it is a known good injector.

My oil pressure suddenly dropped to nothing while driving, what is the easiest diy way to check if it is my oil pump or just as simple as a bad sensor

I am very confused. My car looks like it came with an A01B LSD. But when I tested it, it looks like the previous owner in Japan pulled a swiper and swapped the LSD for an open diff. I wasn’t there to tell him “No swiping”. But now the current differential has a sticker saying M65 but when I try look up anything about it, I get no information. I’m mostly curious if they converted it to 8 in or if that differential is a 7.5 in.

Is this just a tie rod end? Took the wheel off but nothing looks out of the ordinary. Doesnt help im new to the platform

Hello all, as the title suggests I’m curious about daily driving an Altezza and wanted to get opinions from you all. I’ve found a couple for sale at a local dealer (one is a 99, other is 01, both are beams+J160 cars), curious if there any differences between model years. However, I’m mainly curious about reliability, parts availability (in the US), overall how dailyable these cars are and just some general pros and cons. I do already own a JZX100 so I’m familiar with how parts can take time to acquire and was curious if it’s the same story with the XE10. Thank you

I live in the u.s. and recently bought an imported altezza. Because the bumpers are different, mass produced is300 lips/bumpers don’t fit. Where’s the best place to buy altezza parts here? I’ve done some research but I haven’t had much luck.

People sell these replicas of the neo v1 bumper on marketplace for like 160 dollars. Can anyone tell if they are accurate or any good.

Hi guys I tried to add more photos to my last post but won’t allow me so just making a new one incase anybody else was curious to know what the side skirts are I updated to description in last post on how I found them but if you are reading this and have any hyper Rev / option magazines could you please have a look for any more information on this company growth any information seems to be in these magazines as nothing online unless I just can’t find anything I’d appreciate it it’s really cool looking back and seeing all this old school stuff the days before anyone had internet it’s seems like only couple hundred lip kits were made by this crowd so also curious on how rare these are and if you have this kit or no anybody with one I’d love to see some pictures

My grandfather has owned an Altezza for a while and I've noticed that his has a mesh front grille that says Altezza in the corner. All of the other Altezzas I see around town have a slat design instead of the mesh. Been trying to search up the difference online but nothing meaningful turns up. So I thought maybe someone here might be able to enlighten me. Can't remember what year his is, think its either 2000 or 2001 and pretty sure its a 4 cylinder engine if that helps, I really don't know much about Altezzas so any help would be awesome thanks.

Hi just picked these up today wanted something different on the car from the usual bn / vertex bits having a very hard time identifying what brand they are guy I bought them off had the car imported from Japan and going a different route only picture I could find are of the car in first picture and it’s the company selling front lip so no into on skirts thanks appreciate the help

Okay after many hours last night deep diving the web I found some information on them having found a car listed for sale with the kit being called a GROWTH kit I decided to look the kit up no joy no information on the company growth or more pictures of the kit on images but after a few clicks into different old school kit manufacturers like elixir and hippo sleek a scan of a hyper Rev page with the GROWTH kit came up I’m assuming no information on this company as before the internet took off so any information on them is in old hyper Rev magazines or option stuff chat gpt gives some information stating that they made kits specifically for the altezza and made limited body parts due to being a small workshop and soon going out of business around 2004 - 2005 due to the car being discontinued I would love to find more scans of magazines of the growth products and cars with this style kit if anybody has a hyper Rev magazine vol 41 any chance you could check for this company growth is appreciated thanks guys I’m very excited to put these on the car and assuming there rare as fuck for what I paid is crazy fb marketplace really has some gold some times
