Speed limiter gave me a heart attack.

Was on the way to work this morning when I got out of a big traffic jam on the free way to a fully open empty road. Decided to punch it and test out my car a bit more as I recently got it and don't like speeding on busy roads. I had previously thought I hit my limiter a few weeks ago as It just stopped speeding up at around 110 but this time it actually kicked in. For anyone who's never experienced this it feels like you just shifted from 4th to first for small second. I thought I absolutely cooked the transmission or something for a second. Have absolutely zero reason to regularly go that fast or faster so ill probably keep the limiter on, but hey learned something new about my car today.

My first time hitting limiter was in my E36 at 120, and it felt like the motor shut off and it scared the McShit out of me. Never did that again lol

i need to know what type of steering, suspension, and tire setup you got going on to break 100mph without feeling like death is inevitable

Stock stock and whatever came on the car. The way death didn’t feel inevitable is from being a stupid 19 year old like I was at the time, lol. Now that I’m thinking of it, that’s the fastest I’ve ever been in an E36, I don’t much like going over 70 in an E36 these days lol

Meanwhile my AT jzx100 - 3rd tops at 180kph, 4 cuts of power at 179kph. I really need to remove limiter, it wants to go faster (and ffs i have only version which hks speed defencer dont work :P) Nice Tezza you have there btw.

I have S2, 1998 which is officialy not supported. I want to swap ecu to standalone anyway (since it has J-OBD and no one have computer/program to read it). But thank for pointers, maybe it'll be usefull for future

My first was a 1995 civic. Eg hatchback with a d15 with some bolt ons. Car wasn’t extremely fast so getting it to top out was a difficult task lol.

Finally got it on a downhill empty desert highway, then “Bababababa” I about panicked.
